My sister was really apprehensive about going into a Care Home, but her failing health and long stays in Hospital were really taking their toll on her. From the first day she arrived at Green Pastures, it changed her life for the better. She is now happier than I have ever known her to be and her health
has improved a great deal. She is doing things now that she thought she would never have the opportunity to do. Things we take for granted like sitting around a dining table and enjoying the feeling of being within a "Family". Baking and the Church services seem to be her favourite activities but she loves to see the children from all the different schools. The staff are outstanding, so friendly and caring, not just with the residents but also the families. She is very well cared for and it takes a lot of worry off my shoulders just knowing she is not alone anymore and will always be treated well and looked after to a very high standard.

From my first walk through the door to meet those who care for residents at Green Pastures, I knew this was the place for my father. The care, compassion and consideration they give is exceptional. Every person is an individual and their needs are accessed as such together with me, his relative, the
nursing and caring team.
As my father's condition has deteriorated I have been involved and kept fully informed and updated with medication, reviews and assessments, plus and I really feel this is vital, a consideration for me too, as dementia is not something that just happens to 1 person, it happens to the whole family and that support is so important.
I could not wish for my father to be in a better place. I would have no hesitation in recommending Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home.

My sister is a resident at Green Pastures and has been for the past two years. She has Downes Syndrome and dementia. It's the quality of the staff that is most impressive. I feel entirely happy that my sister is in their care. I trust them. Not only do they look after her (she is unable to speak or
to move without assistance) but you feel that they love her. I want her to feel loved and cared for at this most important period in her life. I am deeply grateful to them.

My mother moved to Green Pastures in November 2017 and I just can't believe the change in her. Staff at the care home really do care and take the time to sit and talk with her. As she has dementia, her short-term memory is very poor but she loves to chat and sing songs and when I visit her now she
is very chatty and full of laughter and happiness. I cannot thank the staff enough for caring so much about my mum and I would highly recommend the home.

Mum has lived at Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home for 3 years.
We knew immediately it was the right place to meet the needs of her dementia.
It was important to Mum to be cared for in a Christian setting and she has access to church services within the home and visits from the local priest.
We
are always warmly welcomed and feel part of whatever is going on - be it chatting with staff and residents, enjoying entertainment and reminiscent sessions or joining in with services.
A highlight is when lambs and chicks visit - seeing Mum feed the lambs and hold the chicks was wonderful.
You can see the genuine affection and respect between staff and residents - Mum is unfailingly clean, her clothing, bedding and room are spotless and she is very relaxed in her interactions with everyone.
There is great care and pride taken in everything from food, nursing, and laundry to care activities and environment and we feel lucky to have the peace of mind of knowing she is in good hands.

Mum has been at Green Pastures since July and moved to their new premises on Bath Road in August.
The new home is lovely. Resident rooms are large and beautifully decorated. Every room has its own ensuite shower room. The shared bathroom is a haven of light, sound and bubbles! The atrium a wonderful
space for visiting entertainers. There is a diverse range of entertainment.
But Green Pastures is essentially about the people. The staff care about doing a good job. They care about Mum.
Lots of systems in place to show they deliver a great standard and there is a management team that wants to produce the best nursing home experience and is responsive to feedback.
Very experienced nurses from different branches of medicine. Carers are lovely with lots of fun personalities to lift the spirits! The chef and team claim to be "Living the Dream" and deliver interesting menus that even the fussiest eater will like. Mum enjoys the food.
Mum is now part of the Green Pastures "family".

I cannot recommend highly enough the wonderful staff at Green Pastures, they look after my mother in law with such kindness & care. The staff are always cheerful & nothing is too much trouble for them. The lovely chef/cook will cook anything my mother in law wants & the food is always of a high quality.
We would like to thank all the staff for making a very difficult time for the family easier as we know she is being looked after and cared for.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.940) out of 10 for Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.940 for Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (454 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 481 Ratings = 4.94
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
