My father lived at Green Pastures for 2 years in which time he was given excellent care in every way. All the staff were kind, attentive and caring and the standard of care was exemplary. My father enjoyed various activities in the home - cooking, gardening, social groups. He was extremely content and
comfortable. We cannot thank the home enough for their care - as well as kindness to family when we visited. An excellent home I would highly recommend.

My husband became a Green Pastures resident in August 2021 and he remained there for three and a half years. Having visited so much during this time it had become my second home, and I was made so welcome such that I volunteered and have been visiting regularly these last months. When I needed to have
an operation, I decided that I would become a resident for a period to recover and I stayed in Green Pastures for 8 nights. I had the benefit of knowing a lot of staff and some residents, and was really looked after. Everyone is so caring and patient, whilst doing a very difficult job (particularly with those suffering from dementia). You are all wonderful, and I thank you so much.

When visiting we always get a very warm welcoming + offers of tea or coffee. If help is needed it is seen to quickly. It is obviously a Christian home. The staff are cheerful and willing to help. They show a great deal of patience with especially slow and grumpy patients. Very good patient staff ratio.
Perhaps more stewed fruit or fruit salad would help patients well being.
Reply from Ana Maria Drobota, Registered Manager at Green Pastures Christian Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind words and thoughtful feedback! The care my Father has received since moving her nearly 3 months ago has been amazing on so many fronts.
The staff - all of them - show true compassion, not only with Dad, but my Mother and my siblings. They have got to know us so quickly and they seem to understand the difficult time we have had with
Dad needing to move into a care home setting.
Even the Chairman of the charity knows my Dad by name on 'bumping' into him in the reception area - no clues by the name and photo placed outside his bedroom - he was 2 floors away.
My Father moved here in August 2025 having spent 2 weeks in the only care home in the country with 5* in all domains in their last two assessments however, here surpasses there for so many reasons and here is where my Dad would rather be.
The staffing levels are amazing.
I cannot praise the place enough - this is what all care homes should be like and then there would be so much less resistance from the elderly to go into one when that is really what they need.

Whenever I visit my wife I am always greeted with a warm friendly welcome from all members of staff, whatever their role, in the nursing home.
I am always made to feel part of the community rather that someone visiting a resident. There is always somebody to talk too whether it be concerning the welfare
of the resident or how I am coping with the current situation.
All the staff know the residents by name and engage with them even if that is not their specific role. I would expect that from the care staff but it extends to all other members of staff who keep the nursing home running smoothly. There is an attitude that even the little things matter. An example is are the dining tables laid correctly, will the Christmas menu be and taste good. Everything in the home matters and must be right.
I cannot praise enough the way everybody is treated which makes for a happy, safe environment and even when dealing with challenging situation there are smiles and calmness.

We used Green Pastures to provide respite care for my mother following discharge from A&E as she was in a suitable condition to return home without care support in place. Green Pastures were able to take Mum into respite the day she was discharged. The Admin team were extremely helpful, as was the Care
team on arrival. The support through the transition into, and subsequently out, returning home was exemplary.
Mum heaped praise upon the whole team, particularly the care staff, complimenting them their attitude describing them as loving.

My mum has been a resident at Green Pastures for just over 2 years. She has been looked after extremely well and it is obvious that the staff care and keep me informed at all times of her health and any additional needs she has. I visit her several times weekly and whilst her memory is such that she
doesn't have recollection of my visit after I have left the staff always re-assure her that I have been and that I care! There are lots of activities and trips arranged by the activities team and I often see the photos/videos which were taken, it is clear that mum was enjoying herself. I thanks everyone at Green Pastures for what they do!

I have been a resident of Green Pastures since Nov 2024, my late wife was a resident in 2018, my experience therefore, has been very favourable. My physical infirmity certainly required 'in house' treatment and this has been very good. I feel my life has taken on a new dimension and the daily activities
and care has enabled me to feel part of a definite community. I have particularly enjoyed the 'in house' activities, particularly the musical entertainment. The food has been good, but it would be good to have some input into the types of food. The garden is a real bonus, and the Garden Group is very enjoyable, as is the Life History Group. Church activities are mainly of an Evangelist Christian variety, whilst I am an Anglican (Liberal Catholic) and so not always to my taste - but I find the chaplains very supportive.
Reply from Ana Maria Drobota, Registered Manager at Green Pastures Christian Nursing HomeThank you for sharing your thoughtful feedback. We're delighted to hear that you feel part of our community and enjoy the activities, especially the musical entertainment, garden, and groups. My brother was transferred to Green Pastures from hospital in Staffordshire, where he had been for 10 months and had developed complex additional needs. From the outset, staff at Green Pastures demonstrated an understanding of the trauma he had experienced and took time to connect with him. They did
everything to make him comfortable and feel cared for. We both received a really warm and genuine welcome. My brother began to improve immediately and began attempts at communication, after months of total disengagement. I was able to bring treasured possessions into the room which further prompted his attempts to speak. It was fantastic to visit and see him clean shaven and dressed in one of his favourite t shirts. Staff took time to find out more about him and I knew that they had really listened when I visited and found him listening to his music or found him in the lounge with other residents. Such level of care and dedication is so valuable to both of us. Thank you.

Mum has dementia, she is always treated with the upmost respect, if things aren't the way mum wants or likes them, the staff will do there upmost to change things for mum to her liking ,whether this be from doing something or food and drink. There spontaneous entertainment when it's not on the timetable
is lovely, I'm often sitting there and many of the staff at different times even when there busy(which is always) just burst into song and dance, which the residents love. The residents are always treatment with the upmost respect whatever their needs maybe

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.940)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.940) out of 10 for Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 41 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.940 for Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (454 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 481 Ratings = 4.94
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home is based on 41 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
