My mum has been in Green Pastures for over 5 1/2 years. In that time the staff have been wonderful both to her and to our family. Before Covid changed the way I could visit, it was always such a pleasure to enter the building knowing that all staff would greet me with a smile and warm welcome. It mirrored
the kind of warmth and care my mum experienced from them. Green Pastures is like one big family made up of different parts - staff, residents and carers. The staff are so helpful and kind and nothing is too much trouble.
Since the Covid pandemic began staff have continued with their high standard of care and have had to turn their hand to a few other skills, for example, hairdressers and entertainers, but they don't mind going the extra mile. The manager has kept us fully informed about the latest news and arrangements for visits and has persevered with pages of government guidelines. It is always a pleasure to reward their efforts with some sweet treats because they deserve it.

This marks the end of my husband's first 12 months in the home. He has extreme needs. He is checked at intervals throughout the night; this has enabled the staff to detect significant events to which they have responded very efficiently. Since he can't watch TV or join many of the standard communal
activities, the staff have, with ingenuity and affection, found alternative ways to keep his mind alive. This attention to his psychological well-being is much appreciated by his family. The residents are treated as individuals, with diverse needs and interests, both medically and psychologically.
Superimposed on all this is the current preoccupation with Covid-19 - a challenge the care home has met with efficiency, both within the building and in their liaison with family members isolated at home.

Green Pastures has provided a wonderful caring environment for my mother who is suffering from dementia. During lockdown, I have received regular updates telling me about how she is getting on. Yesterday I was allowed to visit for the first time since March (under strict conditions). I noticed how
much Mother had improved – she seemed relaxed and happy. Visitors to another resident recommended this home to me – they liked it and the person they were visiting was happy living there. The staff are lovely and caring and have provided a really comfortable home for my mother.
I have already recommended this home to a friend whose mother-in-law is suffering from dementia but at the moment the family are trying to continue looking after her in her own home.

After a hospital stay, for pneumonia, my father who is immobile with Parkinson’s and has Dementia who needs such a level of nursing care, that caring for him at home was no longer an option. As a very close family, this was an extremely difficult outcome for us, but from the outset, the atmosphere and
the ethos of Green Pastures helped us come to terms with what felt like ‘letting go’ of Dad. Every single member of staff is dedicated to providing the best all-round care for each resident - physically, emotionally and spiritually. Visitors are made to feel very welcome. The home has high standards of care and cleanliness; Dad is always well cared for.
Not being able to visit as a result of the pandemic has been heartbreaking, but we have complete confidence in the staff who treat Dad with such respect, love and have worked so hard to enable us to keep in contact with him during this dreadful period. We could not have found a better home for Dad and are enormously grateful to the staff.

Mum, who is now 97, has been at Green Pastures for over 18-months and the family could have not asked for better care. She is not from the area (but we have lived locally for over 30-years) but was immediately made to feel 'at home'. Unfortunately, due to the progression of her dementia, she has required
additional care, but this has been given unwaveringly with every attention to her needs. During the current unprecedented times, the staff and management have kept in constant touch, offering phone calls and Skype sessions. The hard work and commitment to make the home a safe and Covid free environment has been truly wonderful. I would highly recommend Green Pastures to any family considering a care home.

My Dad moved in three weeks after my Mum suddenly died. He has been suffering from Alzheimer’s, and mum was his carer. It was a difficult time for my sister and me, but the whole staff made the transition calm for him and us. The atmosphere when we visit is happy, calm and efficient. The staff were
so friendly and helpful, we knew straight away we had chosen the correct place for our Dad. The staff are all great and can’t do enough for him and us. During the present time with Covid-19, the staff have been more than brilliant. They keep in touch with us as well as care for the residents in a loving way. The staff are all approachable and interested in the residents. I highly recommend Green Pastures to anyone looking for a care home.

This home offers care of an exceptionally high standard. The facilities are superb, the bedrooms are beautiful and, most importantly, the staff are caring, competent and extremely well qualified. There is a feeling of homeliness and welcome as soon as you walk in the door. Residents are treated with
compassion and love. There appears to be time for everything, from baking, singing and entertainment, to caring for and talking to the residents. The food is of a very high standard and presented artistically on the plate, even for those on a puréed diet. I cannot praise this home highly enough - it is wonderful, and we feel very lucky to have our lovely mother there.

Green Pastures is a lovely care home, and I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for a safe, caring and pleasant home for their loved one. The staff are all very professional but not aloof; they treat each person with dignity and do all they can to cater to the many and varied
needs of the residents in their care.
Nothing is too much trouble, and however busy they are, they will listen if you have any concerns and do their utmost to help. This is important for family members who struggle to come to terms with their loved ones having to move into residential care.
Although she is unable to express herself in words, I am confident that my mother feels safe, secure and helped in great affection.

Having to have my mother taken into a care and nursing home because of her worsening dementia is stressful and worrying, to say the least. There are so many difficult feelings to cope with. But the one thing I have never had to worry about is the standard of care at Green Pastures. I can think of Mum
during the day knowing that she could not be looked after more skillfully or professionally or empathetically anywhere else. It is wonderfully managed. From reception when we arrive and are welcomed and sensitively guided through the necessary safeguarding protocols, to the interaction with the nurses and carers one could not ask for more. The relationship between carers and clients is amazingly supportive and the team always seems to work together to bring a friendly atmosphere to the community. I can sleep at night knowing that Mum is in the best hands possible. Thank you Green Pastures.

My mother, who has Alzheimer’s, now considers the staff to be ‘my friends’. The staff not only look after her so well but are also aware of the mental pain relatives might be experiencing. Front of house receptionists are always welcoming and the whole building and gardens are spotless. As for the chef
- meals that have to be puréed are served with care and flair and never just dolloped on the plate. I would hope to find such a place when I need it.

My wife has advanced Alzheimer’s and has been a resident at Green Pastures for some 23 months. Unfortunately, she had previously lost her speech and mobility and essentially relies on the nursing and caring staff to determine when and how her daily needs are carried out. From the outset, the staff have
shown compassion, patience and understanding. Nothing is too much trouble even though in my wife’s case particular tasks can be less than straightforward.
Although my wife cannot express her feelings she is at home at Green Pastures. This is reflected in her regular smiles (and laughter) when face to face with those who care for her. Her appetite is good and she enjoys the sensible and varied menu available at the home.
Importantly also, the home has an excellent range of activities (for the residents) many of which I attend with my wife.
As a frequent visitor, I sample the warm and friendly atmosphere that prevails at Green Pastures. It is an excellent nursing home.

Mum has gone in for respite care, the change in her since she has been there is remarkable, facial colour good, appetite etc. The home is superb, it is spotlessly clean, has a lovely clean/fresh smell inside. The food is beautifully cooked, and the staff are wonderful in short a perfect home.

From the moment I walked into Green Pastures, I was so impressed with the friendly caring approach of all the staff. My father, unfortunately, was only a resident for a few days but I could not have wished for my father to have spent his final days in a more loving caring environment.
The staff were
absolutely amazing. The care they gave my father (and our family) was just outstanding. I cannot put into words how grateful I am to you all for making my final days with my father so special.

The care and attention to detail has been excellent along with the communication at any time of the day or night. I, along with my mother, have felt very welcomed and safe at all times. The nursing staff are very knowledgeable. The chefs are fantastic. Overall - outstanding.

My sister was really apprehensive about going into a Care Home, but her failing health and long stays in Hospital were really taking their toll on her. From the first day she arrived at Green Pastures, it changed her life for the better. She is now happier than I have ever known her to be and her health
has improved a great deal. She is doing things now that she thought she would never have the opportunity to do. Things we take for granted like sitting around a dining table and enjoying the feeling of being within a "Family". Baking and the Church services seem to be her favourite activities but she loves to see the children from all the different schools. The staff are outstanding, so friendly and caring, not just with the residents but also the families. She is very well cared for and it takes a lot of worry off my shoulders just knowing she is not alone anymore and will always be treated well and looked after to a very high standard.

From my first walk through the door to meet those who care for residents at Green Pastures, I knew this was the place for my father. The care, compassion and consideration they give is exceptional. Every person is an individual and their needs are accessed as such together with me, his relative, the
nursing and caring team.
As my father's condition has deteriorated I have been involved and kept fully informed and updated with medication, reviews and assessments, plus and I really feel this is vital, a consideration for me too, as dementia is not something that just happens to 1 person, it happens to the whole family and that support is so important.
I could not wish for my father to be in a better place. I would have no hesitation in recommending Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home.

My sister is a resident at Green Pastures and has been for the past two years. She has Downes Syndrome and dementia. It's the quality of the staff that is most impressive. I feel entirely happy that my sister is in their care. I trust them. Not only do they look after her (she is unable to speak or
to move without assistance) but you feel that they love her. I want her to feel loved and cared for at this most important period in her life. I am deeply grateful to them.

My mother moved to Green Pastures in November 2017 and I just can't believe the change in her. Staff at the care home really do care and take the time to sit and talk with her. As she has dementia, her short-term memory is very poor but she loves to chat and sing songs and when I visit her now she
is very chatty and full of laughter and happiness. I cannot thank the staff enough for caring so much about my mum and I would highly recommend the home.

Mum has lived at Green Pastures Christian Nursing Home for 3 years.
We knew immediately it was the right place to meet the needs of her dementia.
It was important to Mum to be cared for in a Christian setting and she has access to church services within the home and visits from the local priest.
We
are always warmly welcomed and feel part of whatever is going on - be it chatting with staff and residents, enjoying entertainment and reminiscent sessions or joining in with services.
A highlight is when lambs and chicks visit - seeing Mum feed the lambs and hold the chicks was wonderful.
You can see the genuine affection and respect between staff and residents - Mum is unfailingly clean, her clothing, bedding and room are spotless and she is very relaxed in her interactions with everyone.
There is great care and pride taken in everything from food, nursing, and laundry to care activities and environment and we feel lucky to have the peace of mind of knowing she is in good hands.

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12, which has been reached with 41 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
