My Grandmas had a lovely festive and birthday period with one member of staff painting her nails and cutting her hair ready to look glam for Christmas. It's always a lovely warm welcome and they even did her a cake again for her birthday this year.

Thank you to the team!

I always get a warm welcome whenever I come to visit my granny, she is always clean and happy when i see her. She always says how nice and helpful everyone that works there is to her. I couldn't be more happy with the standards they have for not only my granny but for us visiting too! Can't thank everyone there enough for the work they put in.

My mum has been at The Homestead since February 2024 where she has gone from bedbound at home, refusing to eat, drink and interact, to someone who is sitting with the other residents, eating, drinking and interacting. What a transformation and all down to the wonderful staff, from the top down at The Homestead. Thank you so very much.

Reply from Pawel Wisniowski, Home Manager at The Homestead

Thank you for such lovely feedback. All our staff work very hard to support our residents with all needs and your story is an amazing example where we can celebrate successes of enabling people with independence. The whole time my husband has been in Homestead the experience has been wonderful. The staff are all so helpful, not only to him but to me and the family as well. His care could not be better really and they go out of their way to make his life the best it can be. Any difficulties that occur seem to be dealt with quickly and efficiently. We are all happy with his care.

The welcome at The Homestead was excellent. The team have made us feel most welcome. We feel we can ask anything at any time and the answer given is complete and considerate. Understanding each individual's circumstances is important to the care team and they have taken the time to meet, enquire and understand my father.

Mum has been a resident since March 2023 and I can only be impressed by the care and attention Mum has received, which I know isn't always the case in care home environments. The staff have been excellent, caring and patient with Mum and us family members. 10/10. Thank you.

I have found this home to be exceptional and all visitors to see my mother have been impressed with this establishment and more importantly the staff. The staff are particularly caring and can only think that the recruitment and retention is high on the management agenda to maintain these standards. Well done, an example to many. Great location for my mother and father-in-law.

After visiting The Homestead for the first time I felt I had at last found somewhere that could be a new home for Mum - the manager was welcoming, caring and professional and the environment homely, clean and bright. We were so lucky they had a room when we needed it and Mum has now been a resident for just over a year. The whole team - management, carers, support staff and volunteers - all played their part in helping Mum to settle in and they all continue to care for her really well. The Homestead is also very supportive of family members - they keep me updated on Mum’s care, offer advice when things are difficult, and listen to my feedback or concerns in a positive way. It has removed a lot of worry knowing that Mum is safe and well looked after - thank you all for the great work you do.

Just had a fabulous fete and as usual all the staff put in so much hard work. The residents all had great fun and the staff couldn’t be better. Great 80’s theme and the weather was kind to us too. Well done to the great Homestead team who are simply the best! We definitely made the right choice of a care home for our lovely mum.

My Mum moved into the dementia wing of The Homestead in March. The level of service and care she has received is truly exceptional. First class. There is such a friendly, welcoming and homely atmosphere in The Homestead. All of the staff are so kind, cheerful and patient, plus brilliant at what they do.
When Mum moved in on a Saturday two members of staff were ready to welcome us: they were so organised, efficient and prepared - and yet gentle, kind and welcoming. It was truly wonderful and so reassuring.

The Homestead is also spotlessly clean, and the resident bedrooms (with en-suites) are really large. The food also looks really yummy too. We feel totally blessed to have found this new home for Mum. It’s definitely a home from home - and we (as a family) all feel like that. It’s a total credit to the manager and every single member of staff. Thank you so, so much for all that you do to make The Homestead a brilliant Care Home. We really do appreciate it.

Our relative moved into The Homestead beginning of March this year as a very independent lady who has lived on her own for 25-plus years and she has found it very hard to adjust. The patience of the management and his team gradually pulled her through the rough times. We are now seeing a much happier and settled relative. We are so very grateful to all the team on the 1st Floor of The Homestead. Thank you and keep going!

We have been looking for a care home for my mother spending time looking around. After checking out all reviews and following them on social media, we decided to move Mum here. Well, the reviews given don't do this place justice. From the management, staff, carers, and cleaners, to the cooks, they are all so dedicated to their work and always ready to help and answer any questions that we have about anything. This place is more than we could have hoped for in a care home.

Please read this factual account of why I thoroughly recommend The Homestead care home in Carterton, Oxfordshire. My wife's first remark on seeing her lovely new room for the first time was "It's just like being at home" and that is how her stay proved to be. The wonderful staff, whatever their responsibility, were so patient, kind and professional. I can't thank them enough. I remain a volunteer at The Homestead because they deserve all the help they can get and always put the residents first.

It was a hard decision to make when my dad moved into The Homestead. Not only was he moving into a care home but also moving away from the area he had lived all his life, being in his nineties it was no mean feat. When I went to look, I was so impressed with how clean the place was and all the staff were extremely friendly and looked happy in their jobs. Since moving into the home my dad's mental as well as physical well-being has improved. There have been a few teething problems but you only have to let the staff know and they all do their best to sort it out as soon as possible. From the Manager right down to the cleaning staff are amazing, professional but very caring and always entertaining the residents. The food is second to none. Thank you to all the staff for making my life so less stressful just knowing dad is safe and well looked after.

After fracturing her spine, my Mum’s life and mobility changed after being very active she was more or less housebound. So we arranged for her to have a month's respite at the Homestead while she was recovering and whilst her husband was in hospital. Unfortunately, during this time, her husband died and this is when the Homestead came into its own. The staff were kind, understanding and caring and gave her the support she really needed. She has made good friends and now her life has been turned around with the help and care of all the staff and management at the Homestead. She is cared for in every way which includes stimulating varied entertainment and trips out and about locally. The management team, carers and even the kitchen staff, who produce great food every day, make my Mum’s experience at the Homestead truly brilliant. Family members are always included which makes us relieved that our loved ones are really being cared for. The Homestead is simply the best!
