Milner House staff looked after my mother with care and compassion over her illness and death. They balanced professionalism with personality. It was a very sad and difficult process, but my mother was aware of the care as family members we received care and friendship, everyone stopped and chatted to us. This helped us enormously through a care and end plan and daily communication with us. We are extremely grateful.

My mother felt so safe and looked after as soon as she arrived at Milner House, which was such a relief to her and to us all. We were constantly impressed by the way that all the staff took time to really get to know her and her interests, many times going out of their way to find ways to engage her and make sure she was listened to. As family, we were always warmly and personally welcomed. The staff were always very professional and at the same time so kind to my mother and to us all.

Milner House is a shining example of what a care home should be like. It is a very well-managed home from home. The many communal areas are spacious, and the bedrooms are comfortable with en-suite facilities. The food is very good and varied. There are many activities every day, both indoors and outside and trips out in the mini bus. All staff, no matter their role, consistently go above and beyond to ensure all needs are met, that the residents are happy and are treated with kindness and dignity at all times. I cannot recommend Milner House highly enough

I am writing to thank all the staff at Milner House on behalf of myself and father who has been a resident for just over a year.
My mother and I had the difficult task of looking for a suitable home just over a year ago for my father and we immediately felt that Milner House was the right place for him having seen a number of other places.
The staff made us feel immediately welcome and that nothing was too much trouble but most importantly my fathers needs were discussed in great detail and that all our concerns were answered fully.
The process for my father being welcomed to Milner House was very straight forward and all the administration concerning medical needs, fees etc. was very transparent and clearly explained and this has always been the case throughout the year.
Once again the most important aspect about this past year is how comfortable my father has been and that he really does feel as if Milner House is now his home.

Thank you once again.

Mum has been a resident of Milner House Care home for approximately three and a half years. We have seen a number of changes of personnel in that time. Milner House is a beautiful home very warm, cosy and well maintained. The staff are lovely and friendly they treat us all with kindness and generosity, we are asked every time we visit if we would like beverages and meals. Mum is thriving aside from her advanced dementia she is very well, healthy and well looked after. Her room is a lovely size with ensuite facilities it has just been redecorated with the addition of a new carpet and curtains it is fresh and bright. Mum loves all of the activities on offer in the time that she has been a resident she has enjoyed trips to garden centres, the local pub, Denbies Winery and Brighton for a fish and chip lunch. The cleaners are very evident and keep the home lovely and clean and smelling fresh.

My mum stayed at Milner house for a short time & was unfortunately end of life care, the staff were so caring & understanding of her needs & also very respectfull of my needs.
Nothing was too much trouble for the care staff and I was made to feel welcome & at ease every single day, I was even offered meals & drinks so I could stay with my mum throughout the day.
The home is in a beautiful setting & staff regularly encourage service users to enjoy the amazing outside areas.

My only wish is that I had found Milner house sooner so my mum could have really enjoyed the surroundings and caring, friendly staff team. I would highly recommend Milner house

From the moment we arrived, we knew this was the place for my 91-year-old mother-in-law for respite whilst we were away. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. We were nervous about leaving her there, but she settled in well under the watchful eye of the manager (she is amazing!). She even sent me an email to let us know how she was getting on. We are so pleased with the care she got that we will put her there when we go away in September.

This was my father's second respite stay at Milner House, and once again we were very pleased with the care he received. His room was generous, comfortable, and well-appointed, and we were pleased to see that the daily programme of entertainment had improved since his last visit - he particularly enjoyed taking part in a quiz. With the warm, sunny weather, carers kindly took him outside to enjoy the beautiful gardens, which made a real difference to his stay. One note of advice: be mindful of rooms close to the caller bell system, which can be quite loud, unless it's been updated by the time you read this.

My father has only been a resident at Milner House for the last 2 weeks. Great kindness and care have been shown to him and us, as a family. There will always be initial minor issues in this situation; however, the staff listen to any queries and try to resolve them as soon as possible. My father is happy and feels safe. If anyone uses this service, I would not hesitate to recommend it, but always communicate any concerns/issues asap, as they really do take it on board. It is clean, comfortable, safe and kind.

My brother and I had to find a residential home for our mother when she became unable to look after herself due to advanced Dementia. This involved relocating her from 160 miles away - a big change for us all, and the staff were incredibly understanding and kind to both her and my brother and I.

Mum's room is cosy, clean and comfortable with views over the garden. All members of staff are welcoming and kind and are excellent with Mum, having endless patience. This has helped Mum to settle in quickly. I always feel like she's well cared for and that the staff know her really well. I would highly recommend Milner House, thank you to all the staff for the amazing job you do!

My husband, who has dementia, has been at Milner House for nearly 18 months, after I realised I could no longer care for him at home. My husband can be difficult at times, but Milner House has fallen over backwards to help him feel calmer, listened to and valued. From conversations with staff, I can tell they know him very well.
Milner House itself has character, space and good direction. The staff are friendly, courteous and capable. There is a tangible sense of good communication skills among them, compassion, innovation, endless patience and professionalism.

I feel reassured that my husband is valued, relevant and safe. What more could I ask for!

Dad has been a resident at Milner House for nearly 3 years. I have always been happy with the care he has received but I can honestly say that the home has stepped up a level over the last few months.
He is and has always been treated by every single member of staff with respect and dignity and, as his dementia advances, the care he is receiving is adapted appropriately and seamlessly. The consistency of staff members at the home makes a huge difference too, so he knows and recognises familiar faces who are so kind and welcoming to him and all our family.
The home is sparkling with a refurb in many areas and clearly, huge efforts are being made to keep it squeaky clean.
I echo previous comments that the new lifestyle co-ordinator has made a real difference with a full programme of activities.

Thank you Milner House you are doing a fantastic job and it is such a relief to know he is in your care.

Regular activities have improved my mum's mental well-being massively. Care staff are attentive and show genuine care and empathy with residents. Mum says 'nothing is too much trouble for them'. She is often difficult to please so this is a high accolade indeed! A relative staff regularly asks about my well-being which is much appreciated.
