I would just like to say how impressed I have been with the staff on the Reminiscence floor at Sunrise of Bagshot since my father moved there in March of this year. They are all lovely, smiley and great with my dad and all the other residents. It is a difficult job to do but one that they all do very
well. The ladies on the reception desk are also lovely and very welcoming.

I was very relieved when my mother moved home in March. Although it is a costly affair to move anyone from Sunrise of Bagshot it was worth it. Despite my mother being a resident at Sunrise for a number of years the change in management became more frequent, staff changes also increased with over the
period of her stay. Her room was dark and if there was any sun it bounced off the cars travelling along the busy road outside and could be so intense it worried me about my mother's tendency to have migraines. This was mentioned and never responded to. My mother had many falls. Whilst it is difficult to assess if there was sufficient help to aid my mother as you would normally expect in a home I have my doubts. Over the years as a family we have raised many concerns, too many hence the fact that my mother moved despite concerns about how unsettling she might find a move and a home was found further away which is less convenient but hopefully is a safer environment.

My name is Tiina. Yes, spelt with two I's, I am Finnish. I moved to England in May 2002 to continue my management placement in catering. I loved it so much I decided to stay. I joined in 2011, the same as Tracey, since the day it opened. I look after all resident's dietary needs, their nutrition their hydration, their intolerances, their allergies, and most importantly their likes and dislikes. Not everyone is a fan of everything and it's important to me that everyone gets something they like. I especially enjoy making special cakes for birthdays and anniversaries. Did you know I have made over 10 100th birthday cakes! Food is such an important part of good living and I am so passionate about making sure the residents enjoy their meals. Feel free to ask me anything when you visit. I am always happy to help.

I am the head of housekeeping and have worked here since the day it opened back in 2011. Me and my team make sure your laundry is named, washed, ironed and returned to you without anything going missing. I have a pretty good track record here! We keep the community sparking clean and take a lot of pride in our work. The residents enjoy seeing us each day when we pop into their rooms to make sure everything is as it should be. It's an absolute pleasure to work here.

Job Title: Maintenance Operative Joined: 2011

I started in Care over 13 years ago coming from a finance background, so it was quite different, but something I felt I’d like to do after helping care for family. I started as a Carer on Reminiscence which I really enjoyed and later went on to driving their minibus and taking them out on little adventures. Last year, after driving for many years and in different communities, I decided to settle down and just stay at Bagshot, helping with Maintenance a couple of days a week. In November I handed over the reins as Minibus Driver to my colleague, Cherrie, (I knew the residents would be in safe hands) and became a full-time Maintenance Operative. You will now find me walking down the corridors with paint on my shoes and sawdust on my trousers. I enjoy my new role very much, ensuring the residents’ have nice rooms to live in and everything is working as it should be. I’m very much looking forward to the Summer where hopefully we can get the residents involved in some DIY, if they want to of course.


Outside of work, I love walking driving, and exploring new places.
