My nan loves her time at Sunrise, her room is spacious. They clean it every day! Having her bed made is so important. My nan is not very social but the staff are so caring and visit her all the time.

My brother lived here for two and a half years. He always looked well turned out and definitely enjoyed meal times. As well as all the essentials of care being so well provided, all the staff added the all-important human touch that makes a situation so much better. Much kindness and cheerfulness was
given to all of us and we thank them wholeheartedly for the challenging work they do every day.

My aunt had an overnight deterioration - after some years - suddenly, she was totally unable to cope. I called regularly for information as I was overseas and the staff from reception to management and nursing gave very excellent updates on what was happening to her and have kept me well informed. Since
I've returned, I would like my auntie to be clearer in her chair/clothes but the staff once alerted do this work. Auntie loves all the staff.

Have only been a resident for 3 months. Care, with a few hiccups had to be sorted, is good. Staff are very friendly but may need additional instructions. Meal service sometimes needs improvement.

My mother has been at Sunrise for over two years and has found great solace from the caring staff.
I too have experienced nothing but kindness from all the staff and there is always a patient, fun and supportive atmosphere in the home.

My mother in law has been residing in Sunrise for the past 10 years.
In that time she has participated in many of the activities and outings offered over the weeks.
The last two years she has had to have much more one to one care.
She is treated with respect and her dignity is ensured.
Overall I
am happy with the care she is receiving.
She has had some very happy times.

Generally Sunrise has provided a great home for my Mum. The staff especially are so friendly and supportive. The activities are available. Mum doesn't join in but that's her decision.
The major area for improvement is coordination between staff, departments and family. We are sometimes frustrated at
how difficult it can be to organise medication, hearing tests, hygiene, putting her feet up. (We know Mum can be obstinate).

My mum was a resident until May 2017 when she sadly passed away. She loved her time at Sunrise and myself and family were very happy with her care and the amazing support we received when she was dying and afterwards.
Mums happiness at Sunrise as the reason I wanted to volunteer, playing bingo with
the residents some of whom were mums friends. I feel very much part of the Sunrise family.

I was in Respite Care for 5 weeks and feel I was well looked after. Comfortable bed and excellent facilities. I enjoyed the few activities I attended and would not hesitate to return if the need arose.

This home provides very good care - there is great attention to details, care of residents health and a pleasant, homely environment. There is a great emphasis on intellectual stimulation with at least 2 activities every day and frequent outings. Meals are good with a variety of ingredients. There are
times when the numbers of care staff on duty seem insufficient.

We have been delighted with the care our uncle and aunt received at Sunrise. Management and staff demonstrated exemplary care, patience and respect at all times, including when our uncle was not easy to deal with. We visited very frequently and never witnessed anything other than this high level of
behaviour towards any resident. Equally, they warmly welcomed and cared for us as relatives as much as the residents. We had free access to visit at any time of day or night. Our only negative experience in 6 months was a power cut as no backup power was available.
Sunrise is not cheap, but fees are made clear up front and billing is accurate to agreed rates, although invoices could be a bit clearer.
Facilities were always clean and the food is excellent. There was lots of flexibility towards special needs and requests. The atmosphere always appeared relaxed. One always had more of the impression of a hotel than a care home. The level and variety of activities provided is also excellent.

I have lived in Scotland all my life, with my husband who was a director of social work.
This is a delightful home, clean and well managed.
I am 97 years old and my husband and I ran a home in Glasgow for boys.
I have learned to appreciate the many things that are done for me now I am unable to carry
out the tasks myself.

It's still a bit new and we're getting used to the routines but we are settling. Sometimes we feel we have to wait a long time for carers but they are all very nice to us and look after us well.

Sunrise of Bagshot is an extremely lovely care home. The home has a very attractive appearance, inside and out. The decor is lovely and kept spotlessly clean. No nasty smells as in some other care homes! The care is excellent, although at times there is a shortage of staff, especially at weekends. Overall
it is a lovely place to stay and the outings are organised every week (normally 3 per week). Lots of activities for the residents to do and the staff are very good at encouraging the residents to participate. Expensive but worth it!

I want to pay tribute to the good quality of care my mother receives in this residential and nursing home. She has just celebrated her 100th birthday and Sunrise arranged a lovely party for her with an entertainer. My mother always receives courteous and kind treatment and reliable personal care.

Job Title: Dining Services Co-ordinator Joined: 2011

My name is Tiina. Yes, spelt with two I's, I am Finnish. I moved to England in May 2002 to continue my management placement in catering. I loved it so much I decided to stay. I joined in 2011, the same as Tracey, since the day it opened. I look after all resident's dietary needs, their nutrition their hydration, their intolerances, their allergies, and most importantly their likes and dislikes. Not everyone is a fan of everything and it's important to me that everyone gets something they like. I especially enjoy making special cakes for birthdays and anniversaries. Did you know I have made over 10 100th birthday cakes! Food is such an important part of good living and I am so passionate about making sure the residents enjoy their meals. Feel free to ask me anything when you visit. I am always happy to help.

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2011

I am the head of housekeeping and have worked here since the day it opened back in 2011. Me and my team make sure your laundry is named, washed, ironed and returned to you without anything going missing. I have a pretty good track record here! We keep the community sparking clean and take a lot of pride in our work. The residents enjoy seeing us each day when we pop into their rooms to make sure everything is as it should be. It's an absolute pleasure to work here.

Job Title: Maintenance Operative Joined: 2011

I started in Care over 13 years ago coming from a finance background, so it was quite different, but something I felt I’d like to do after helping care for family. I started as a Carer on Reminiscence which I really enjoyed and later went on to driving their minibus and taking them out on little adventures. Last year, after driving for many years and in different communities, I decided to settle down and just stay at Bagshot, helping with Maintenance a couple of days a week. In November I handed over the reins as Minibus Driver to my colleague, Cherrie, (I knew the residents would be in safe hands) and became a full-time Maintenance Operative. You will now find me walking down the corridors with paint on my shoes and sawdust on my trousers. I enjoy my new role very much, ensuring the residents’ have nice rooms to live in and everything is working as it should be. I’m very much looking forward to the Summer where hopefully we can get the residents involved in some DIY, if they want to of course.


Outside of work, I love walking driving, and exploring new places.

I was delighted to join at the beginning of March 2020 as Business Office Coordinator for Payroll, HR administration, Recruitment, Accounts receivable and payable, residents invoices control, information monitoring and systems etc. I have completed my postgraduate Diploma in CIM and have been working in the healthcare sector for nearly six years now. I am passionate about caring for people and what we do to improve people's lives. I'm so excited to be part of this family and looking forward to working closely with my colleagues and residents.

My career in care started as a care assistant, then worked my way through to become a deputy manager in one of the residential homes in Hampshire before joining. I like to believe that my commitment and passion for delivering quality care to the residents is one of the many highlights here at Bagshot.
