Bagshot Gardens Care Home - Avery Collection

After a fall, our mother took the difficult decision that she could no longer live independently in her own home at 90 years of age. We (my sister and I) investigated a number of local residential homes, and Signature at Bagshot was notably different from the start, and our mother moved into her beautiful room in mid-July. From the beginning, the Signature staff were like an extended family from the handyman, the concierge, the care staff, the nursing team etc - all were warm and welcoming and clearly passionate about ensuring all resident's needs were catered for. Our mother was a great talker, and all the Signature team took time to chat with her and listen to her reminisce. Her health deteriorated further in December, and we were impressed with how her care continued to be managed and the support extended to us, especially when she sadly passed away just before Christmas. We were so grateful that for the last few months of her life, she was in such a wonderful environment.

The family are weekly visitors, and all at the home offer consistent hospitality of a high degree. A lovely welcome. The level of medical care is, likewise, consistently good over the wide range of needs. Residents' encouragement to take part in events to the level they wish to partake. A good home.

Very comfortable environment - warm, welcoming, efficient and modern. Facilities are excellent. Nursing care and ancillary service are first-class. Always something going on as well. Visitors are made very welcome - staff are excellent and always very approachable - keep us well informed by phone and email.

From my first visit to Signature at Bagshot Care Home, I felt confident that my wife, who suffers from dementia, would be safe and well looked after. She has now been there a year and after taking a little while to settle in, is happy, relaxed and safe. All the staff are very professional and nothing is too much trouble. The food is excellent and there are always plenty of activities taking place with my wife particularly enjoying the bus trips. I would certainly recommend Signature for your loved ones.

This is an excellent establishment. The quality of personal care and medical care goes well beyond what might reasonably be expected. From day-to-day carers to senior management the stand-out features are compassion, an unwavering commitment to help and accessibility at all times for relatives and friends. For fourteen months they cared for my wife through a very difficult illness. I am resolved that, should the need arise I too will be cared for by Signature Bagshot Care Home.

Mum became a resident at Signature Bagshot in November 2022 after a spell in hospital resulted in her requiring 24/7 nursing care. One visit was sufficient for me to realise that I had found the right place for her progressing needs. Nothing was too difficult for the team. They answered all my questions before residency, and they continue to do so, with confidence gleaned from years of collective experience. Mum has settled in and made new friends and enjoys the many activities on offer. The nursing team have been so attentive to Mum's medical needs, and similarly, the care assistants appear to treat Mum as if she is the only resident there! All the staff, from management to maintenance, are well-drilled in putting the residents and their 'demanding' families first. I find myself with more quality time to spend with Mum as I am not worrying about prescriptions and GP appointments and whether she is having enough to eat and drink. Signature is definitely the right place for Mum.

From the moment I walked in the door of Signature at Bagshot, I felt welcomed and confident that this was a safe, happy, caring and well-run home. My mum has been looked after to the highest standards, having been discharged from the hospital into palliative 24/7 care. Everyone who I have met, who works there, has been professional and treated all residents with dignity, patience and care. Mum's needs have been continually assessed and catered for to ensure she is comfortable and happy. Everyone knew Mum by name almost immediately. I would not hesitate to recommend this home and thank them for their continued support.

I literally cannot express the enormity of the love the staff have for all the residents; it's not a job to these people, it's their extended family. They make the place feel like a huge hug from the moment you and your loved one join their community.

My mother lived over six years in this home and after a couple of years of adaptability/acceptance, came to realise it was the best place for her to be. The home is modern and purpose-built and staffed with caring people, some of whom had been there longer than my mother. She enjoyed the food and the flexibility of choice in the menu and in location. The management was helpful and competent in overcoming what must continue to be big staffing pressure post-Covid, which was handled with great skill. I can fully recommend Signature at Bagshot, despite it being relatively expensive.

My 84-year-old aunt came to live with us almost 3-years ago now and has stayed at Signature Bagshot many times for respite care. She has never stayed in care before, and so this is something we were both apprehensive of, not knowing how she would adapt and cope. But the surroundings are beautiful, and the staff are lovely and attentive. They really made her feel welcome. The home itself is very comfortable and homely, and my aunt has befriended many of the residents who live there. She now looks forward to regular respite care, which allows us both a break and time to relax. They have so many activities each day that it really gives her something to look forward to. I never have to worry when she attends, as I know she's well looked after and enjoying the food and company of the residents her age. I would definitely recommend Signature to anyone looking for care for an elderly relative.

My lovely mum came to stay for respite after my dad sadly passed in April. She has dementia so couldn't live on her own, but I felt so guilty for putting her in 'care', so I agreed to a month or two of respite to see how she did. Honestly, everyone at Signature at Bagshot has been amazing. I can't name everyone, but every single person has been brilliant. My mum looks ten years younger, which isn't bad as she's 96! She gets involved in things and has settled in really well (she still says she's going 'home' but then says she'd be happy staying, so I tell her she can, and she's delighted!). She has now moved to a permanent resident in 'reminiscence', and I love seeing her pop up on the Facebook pages playing bingo, gardening, singing and all sorts. As you can imagine, it's not cheap, but it is so worth it. I'm looking forward to the Jubilee Garden Party on the 1st of June!

Cannot thank everybody enough and would definitely recommend it to anyone thinking about respite care for their loved one.

My aunt moved into Signature at Bagshot when managing by herself at home became difficult. The staff are all very professional and friendly. They made every effort to welcome my aunt into the community and made her stay very comfortable. Eventually, my aunt required nursing care and again the staff were very attentive and also kept us informed of her progress. The facilities at Bagshot are excellent, as are the organised activities.

Dad has lived at Signature of Bagshot for five years and is very settled and comfortable there. The staff do a terrific job caring and supporting him, allowing him to remain as independent as possible and also treating him with dignity. Management and staff respond quickly to any questions and take great pride in all that they do. We are so pleased we chose Signature of Bagshot and would certainly recommend it.

Staff, carers, management and all other members of staff are always so helpful and caring. Excellent home with great facilities.

My father-in-law has now been a resident at the Sunrise Care home in Bagshot, Surrey for the past 8 months; our best decision. Sadly, his life during this period has been tumultuous – firstly, his wife sadly passed away and secondly, his own health has deteriorated.

The management team are outstanding, particularly the general manager and deputy manager, both of whom I have regular contact and communication. I have always believed that excellent communication and prompt response is the key to success; something that I believe at which Sunrise management excels.

A huge thank you to the entire management and staff at Sunrise Bagshot; we would highly recommend them.

I had a stay in Sunrise recently for some respite care and want to say what a wonderful experience it was. Without exception, the staff were dedicated, friendly and extremely thoughtful and kind, in fact, nothing was too much trouble for them. At the end of my stay, I felt a hundred times better and was able to return to my normal life. I would not hesitate to return for further respite care if my circumstances were to recur. The home isn't inexpensive but does represent full value for money.

We cannot recommend Sunrise. Our parents lived there for two and a half years. We had to employ an outside care agency as an additional expense to enable our Mum to remain active and when Sunrise insisted upon "one to one" care within the home on several occasions we were charged at an eye-watering rate! We had many concerns over the care of both parents and had several meetings with the Management there and were not satisfied with the outcome. It is not appropriate to list all the issues we had, suffice to say that having moved our Mum to a new home, the difference in attitude and understanding there has been remarkable.
