My mum has been in Sunrise for four years, initially in assisted living then for the last two years in reminiscence. She has always been happy at Sunrise. Now she has dementia it is more important than ever that I can be confident that she is well looked after as she can no longer tell me. I am grateful
to the staff who are caring and patient and never give me cause to worry about the care she receives.

My mum is very comfortable at Sunrise Bagshot, she is very well cared for, has a lovely room and is in beautiful surroundings. She visited a few times before she became part of the community with a friend and they were both very impressed. Before lockdown she really enjoyed the minibus outings, visits
from entertainers and pet therapy. She enjoyed singing along and doing a bit of gardening. The carers in Reminiscence and some of the other staff that visit to talk to residents are exceptional: calm, patient and very kind. The lockdown, although residents kept very safe, has certainly taken its toll, and I'm sure they will really appreciate the return of visits, entertainment and activities. As a minor niggle, I would appreciate more information about how my mum is doing (especially when you aren't able to visit). Although whenever I have emailed, I get a very quick response. We did appreciate the general weekly newsletters during this time though.

My Granddad has been in Bagshot for almost a year and it's been hard not to be able to see him as often as I used to.
The staff have been amazing at keeping in contact. I've managed to speak on him on the tablet, we get weekly newsletters which let us know all of the up to date information and what
has been happening within the home and we tried to give him a mobile but it was easier to talk on the phone and the tablet. It's great to see they are still doing activities even if we can't go in and share it with him.
I can't wait to take my children in again soon to see him. Thank you for keeping my Granddad safe.

Sunrise of Bagshot are doing a tremendous job - both before COVID, and now during these especially difficult times. They know and care for their residents on a 1-2-1 basis, and by using only Sunrise team members, residents get continuity of care and familiarity with those around them. The staff are
always friendly and welcoming to visitors and residents alike, and I have full confidence in the safety and well being of my Mum. Thank you to all the team there, we really appreciate what you are doing.

My mother has taken a while to get accustomed to living in Sunrise, but we have found that all the staff, in particular the care management team, have taken the trouble to get to know my mother and to find out to what she is likely to make a positive response. She has had a spell of not good health
and every care has been taken to make her comfortable and to keep the family up to date. The home is well run, kept very clean and tidy, and it is so nice to be welcomed on each visit.
Reply from Anna Chioaru, General Manager at Bagshot Gardens Care Home - Avery CollectionSunrise of Bagshot appreciate moving into a care home can be an unsettling time. This is why we take the time to engage with family members and friends of the resident to make the process as smooth as possible, to get to know the resident on a personal level. We are pleased to hear your mother has settled in well.

My wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s In 2009 and we selected Sunrise of Bagshot for her ongoing care in December 2017. It has been a good decision and her care since that date has been exceptional. More recently Sunrise’s management of COVID-19, at both local and national level, has been exemplary.
In stark contrast to what we have heard on the news every day about the crisis in care homes, Sunrise through good management and forward planning has always been in control. I understand for instance that they have had no PPE issues. But they have also had to work hard to achieve this success and I am sure there have been many challenging moments. My family and I are forever grateful. Thank you Sunrise.

My father had to move into the home on the loss of my mother and it was only a few months later that Covid kicked in and my father was isolated from us all. He has been happy in the home and been looked after, and enjoys the chats with staff and other residents. I feel reassured that he is looked
after medically and as a person in the home and during these more difficult times has been kept safe. Thank you.

My Mum and Dad were both residents of Sunrise and I am very satisfied with the level of care they received, the accommodation was first rate and serviced to a high standard. When visiting I witnessed the care and attention given whenever a member of staff had to provide help or care to Mum or Dad.
The staff in the restaurant were also very attentive to my parents. When using the bistro with Mum and Dad I also saw similar care and attention provided to other residents. I would like to thank all the staff at Sunrise including the ones who would not have had personal contact with Mum and Dad, kitchen staff etc. Thank you Sunrise.

First-class standard of care from the moment we approached Sunrise for our Dad, to the day he passed away. Their compassion and care was second to none, they treated our Dad as if he was their Dad. We cannot fault them in any way. I can only highly recommend. Excellent accommodation, beautiful setting
in gardens, they even got Dad out of bed and to the dining room, which was fantastic. Wonderful place.

I can highly recommend Sunrise. The moment I walked in I knew mum would feel at home there, with its pleasant comfortable surroundings and welcoming staff. Finding the right care home is such a big decision but I was immediately put at ease and my many queries answered.
Mum now requires 24/7 day and
night care. Once it was agreed that all her needs could be met, the transition from hospital to Sunrise was smoothly organised by the home. That in itself was a welcome help at such a difficult time.
All the staff have done their best to settle mum In. It's also reassuring to know that there is always a nurse on duty and a doctor who visits regularly. She has an excellent care plan in place with regular reviews and liaison with me.
There is a real sense of family at Sunrise. Mum recently celebrated her 100th birthday and the staff
made it a memorable occasion with a lovely cake, flowers and music!
Without exception, I've found the staff to be very caring and helpful at all times.

The care provided by the staff at Sunrise Bagshot was excellent! I cannot thank them all enough. From the regular frequency of check-ups and personal one to ones with my aunt to the gentle persuasion and encouragement to take part in activities and trips. The staff at Sunrise did the utmost to care
and be part of my aunt's life to the very end. To be discharged from hospital back to Sunrise was a blessing for my aunt as she was then surrounded by staff who cared and looked after her in her final days. It was a huge weight off my mind being able to rely on my aunt being in the care of staff whose friendliness and supremely pleasant attitudes, sometimes under a lot of pressure, was constant.
Sense of security and access was without fault, it being very easy to visit and staff always welcoming.
If there was anything I could find fault with, it was the complex billing system which I would recommend has a complete overhaul - of the seven invoices I received I had to query four of them.

My father was never an easy man to please, but Sunrise went out of their way to maintain his independence, caring for him, but only when he needed it, and giving him so much time and patience. He never wanted to admit that he was growing old or unable to do things. As, one by one, the tools for that
independence were lost the staff at Sunrise bore the brunt of his frustrations with the patience of saints. We cannot thank them enough.

From entering Sunrise, I felt a warm welcome from the staff. The reception is very grand and hotel-like. We sat in the stunning gardens and were offered drinks and biscuits. My friend had been struggling at home on her own and now seems settled there with excellent care. She has made a friend or two
and told me about the outings and fun things they make. I was very relieved to see her care needs are now being met above and beyond.

My father-in-law lives at Sunrise and has done for over 10 months. He has come on remarkably since he moved from home. He is known by all the staff, they know exactly what he likes. His world has grown so much from the downstairs rooms in his old house and it's so lovely to see him with his independence
again. It took us a long time to convince him it was the right step forward but he is glad he did.

My mother had been a resident at Sunrise of Bagshot for four years until her death there in November aged 98. During the last six months, her health had declined and her care needs increased. Throughout this time and particularly in her last few weeks the staff looked after with great support, not only
to her but also to the whole family. It was a great help to know she was being cared for with loving kindness.

(1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 99 registered maximum number of service users is 19.8, which has been reached with 30 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Dining Services Co-ordinator Joined: 2011

My name is Tiina. Yes, spelt with two I's, I am Finnish. I moved to England in May 2002 to continue my management placement in catering. I loved it so much I decided to stay. I joined in 2011, the same as Tracey, since the day it opened. I look after all resident's dietary needs, their nutrition their hydration, their intolerances, their allergies, and most importantly their likes and dislikes. Not everyone is a fan of everything and it's important to me that everyone gets something they like. I especially enjoy making special cakes for birthdays and anniversaries. Did you know I have made over 10 100th birthday cakes! Food is such an important part of good living and I am so passionate about making sure the residents enjoy their meals. Feel free to ask me anything when you visit. I am always happy to help.

Job Title: Head of Housekeeping Joined: 2011

I am the head of housekeeping and have worked here since the day it opened back in 2011. Me and my team make sure your laundry is named, washed, ironed and returned to you without anything going missing. I have a pretty good track record here! We keep the community sparking clean and take a lot of pride in our work. The residents enjoy seeing us each day when we pop into their rooms to make sure everything is as it should be. It's an absolute pleasure to work here.

Job Title: Maintenance Operative Joined: 2011

I started in Care over 13 years ago coming from a finance background, so it was quite different, but something I felt I’d like to do after helping care for family. I started as a Carer on Reminiscence which I really enjoyed and later went on to driving their minibus and taking them out on little adventures. Last year, after driving for many years and in different communities, I decided to settle down and just stay at Bagshot, helping with Maintenance a couple of days a week. In November I handed over the reins as Minibus Driver to my colleague, Cherrie, (I knew the residents would be in safe hands) and became a full-time Maintenance Operative. You will now find me walking down the corridors with paint on my shoes and sawdust on my trousers. I enjoy my new role very much, ensuring the residents’ have nice rooms to live in and everything is working as it should be. I’m very much looking forward to the Summer where hopefully we can get the residents involved in some DIY, if they want to of course.

Outside of work, I love walking driving, and exploring new places.

Job Title: Dementia Care Manager Joined: 2021

It is such a great honour to be working at Bagshot Gardens.

Having joined the team in 2021, I must say it has been one of the best decisions! My career in care started as a care assistant, then worked my way through to become a deputy manager in one of the residential homes in Hampshire before joining. I like to believe that my commitment and passion for delivering quality care to the residents is one of the many highlights here at Bagshot.
