Sutton Lodge is committed to quality residential and nursing care, while also specialising in palliative, respite and convalescence needs.

This converted grand private home retains much of its historic charm and cottage feel while being suited to modern care and a comfortable lifestyle. It has a large garden with a water feature, raised flower beds and a seating area for all to enjoy. Most of the bedrooms are ensuite.

Sutton Lodge is ideally located with the centre of Oatlands and Walton on Thames being less than a mile away and just over a mile away from Weybridge Town Centre. The home is located on the A3050 which has multiple bus stops just 100m from the home, offering easy access for visiting families.

The care my grandmother is receiving is second to none.
All the staff are always so friendly and helpful.
They always treat my grandmother with great care and attention.
She is always clean and tidy and seems very happy with the staff.
She was a resident on respite and loved every minute of being
here.
When she took very poorly the staff were very understanding and quick to help out getting her settled after a very rushed discharge from hospital.
Thank you for all that you do for my grandmother.

As soon as my wife was in transition awaiting discharge from hospice respite our daughter and I went to view Sutton Lodge and meet its manager. Very impressed by airy lounge, neat dining room that would do credit to a small hotel and ensuite single bedroom on offer. My wife moved in about 7 days later
and was given very good care night and day by the whole team; management, senior and regular nursing plus catering. The home became not just a place with very friendly care staff but actually much more a big, caring family. They did a wonderful job with my dear wife as her serious condition took hold over 7 weeks and were tremendously sympathetic in her final quite distressing few days and around midnight the day she died. The staff were also lovely in allowing me and my daughter time and space to gather up her possessions and in sending two representatives to her funeral.

I felt very safe and comfortable. I use oxygen 24/7 and everything was organised so that I always feel safe. For some parts of the day, I use a wheelchair others not. My requirements here are never too much trouble. My medications are many and varied but they are always handled very efficiently and
I have no worries.
The staff here are always friendly, helpful and with fault. This may be a cliche but is honestly the case.
Smiles and cheerfulness amongst both staff and management here is a particular feature of the home.

My husband entered Sutton Lodge for respite care and help in regaining his walking ability following a spell in hospital. His room was pleasant and clean and the care staff excellent, though I think due to staff vacancies, it could sometimes take up to 40 minutes to answer the call button. Because of
restrictions in nursing home regulations, our goal was not reached and in fact, he left the home far worse than he entered. His walking ability was diminished and he developed another urine infection. He left there in an ambulance back to hospital. The care staff were excellent and were doing a great job despite being under pressure because of staff vacancies. The catering staff produced good appealing menus. The financial department was very efficient and it was generally a pleasant place to be. However, I did feel there could be some improvement in the general management and whereas the different groups of staff do their utmost to help there seemed to be some glue missing in the general running of things.

During the few weeks that my mother spent in Sutton Lodge, the staff attended her with utmost care and patience as she became less mobile and communication with her became more difficult. After a brief stay in hospital, she returned for palliative care which was well organised in every respect. Staff
were always supportive and welcoming.

My stay at Sutton Lodge was 'short stay'. I was looked after very well in all aspects from day 1 to the end of my stay.
The staff were friendly and attentive, from the laundry lady, kitchen staff, nursing staff to admin. Some residents, being in poor health and age needed. Extra special care was given
fully by everyone. Well done to all the staff and the wonderful volunteers who achieve miracles without moans.

The staff are friendly, caring and helpful. However if you are a wheelchair user you may have difficulty with the front door, as it is heavy with two doors that open onto each other. I cannot fault the caring and effort the people have done to help my mother. She has also enjoyed the food.

I've visited my aunty several times during her stay at Sutton Lodge (6 weeks) and everyone was extremely helpful and always looked after her well. She really enjoyed her stay and managed to get better and put on some weight. She especially enjoyed the genuine care from the team and the cakes in the
afternoon, always home made ( I enjoy them too) We would definitely use them again and I recommend to others.

My mum was 'not a natural' for fitting in to a Care Home, but after her seizure at Xmas 2014 she was not able to return home and I had previously been to meet two staff members at Sutton Lodge on a 'just in case' basis 6 months earlier and was immediately comfortable they would see my mum would be looked
after and made to feel safe. My mum had little understanding of her situation (dementia) but in her moments of lucidity she appreciated she was in the best place both for her and for my peace of mind. I am very grateful to all at Sutton Lodge, there was even a garden party (which my mum attended) on the day she passed away. The staff work so hard at providing a quality of life to people who are sadly unable to show they are appreciating it, and while I am sure they are it takes special people to keep at it.
Thank you Sutton Lodge.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.649)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.649) out of 10 for Sutton Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.649 for Sutton Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (259 Excellents x 5) + (104 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 376 Ratings = 4.649
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sutton Lodge Care Home is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2025

My name is Andrea, and I’m the home manager here at Sutton Lodge. My journey in care began back in 1997, when I started working as a carer in a nursing home that supported both younger adults with complex needs and older residents. From my very first shift, I knew this was where I was meant to be — caring for people, making a difference, and helping others live with dignity and joy.

That passion led me to train as a nurse, and in 2008 I qualified as a registered nurse. I spent several years working across surgical wards and other hospital departments, gaining valuable experience that I’ve carried with me throughout my career.

In 2010 I got married, and I’m now a proud mum to twin daughters and a son — they keep me grounded and remind me every day why care and kindness matter so much. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of care homes, supporting residents, families, and staff with dedication and compassion.

I first joined Sutton Lodge as deputy manager and spent three and a half years here before moving on to other management roles within care homes. Four years later, I was delighted to return — this time as home manager. It truly feels like coming home.

Sutton Lodge is such a special place — a small home with a big heart. The warmth, laughter, and sense of family here are what make it so unique. I’m incredibly proud to lead a team that shares my values of compassion, respect, and dedication, and to be part of a home where residents are not just cared for, but truly cherished.

Job Title: Clinical Deputy Manager Joined: 2014

I started my career with Bupa 10 years ago as a Care Assistant, progressing to Senior Carer, Registered Nurse and now Clinical Deputy Manager for the last 2.5 years.

In late 2014 I was studying for a Psychology Degree when I swapped my weekend job at Specsavers for a part-time Care Assistant job at Queensmount Bupa in Bournemouth.

I loved my care job and worked with some amazing people who made me consider an even bigger career change. When I came back home to Surrey after university I transferred to Sutton Lodge and then began a Master’s Degree in Adult Nursing before taking on a Nursing position here. Sutton Lodge feels like my home from home, and I am so proud of my job and the relationships we build with the residents we care for.

I love my role as Deputy Manager and helping the team to feel empowered and grow. The staff here are so kind and caring, and we support each other through the good times as well as the hard times. My favourite days are still my nursing days when I get to spend quality time with our wonderful residents.

I have a lovely rescue dog who is a huge part of my life and we love spending days walking down the Wey Navigation and spending time with my friend's horses. I also recently got married (which was the gossip of Sutton Lodge for many months!)

Sutton lodge is a small home, I love working here. It feels like a small family.

Outside of work, I have a large family, and in my spare time, I spend all my time with them.

I started my career at Sutton lodge in June 2018 as a care assistant. In November 2021, I changed roles and became an activities co-ordinator.

Over the course of that time, I completed many training courses, including Level 2 in adult care work, Level 2 in English, Level 1 in maths and Level 3 in first aid.

Two years ago, I stepped up and become a senior activities co-ordinator.

I am proud of my work and everything I bring to our home, staff and residents. I am extremely passionate and try my best to plan activities and events around all individuals' needs so everyone can feel involved.

My role has significantly boosted my self-confidence, but more importantly, it has strengthened my skills and abilities in care—especially in leading activities, which are central to my position. I genuinely love my job, and any feedback I receive motivates me to improve and make meaningful changes.
