I had the great opportunity to be allocated for a long placement as a second-year nursing student. Professionals that are great to work with. Great team to learn from. Amazing people that are treating everyone with kindness and respect.
Thank you for your praise. Happy to hear you enjoy being part of the team.
Our family are totally happy with the care our mother is receiving. The care and nursing staff are kind, helpful and professional and have created a true family atmosphere which also includes the relatives. The management are medically lead and have provided a home where we know our mother is safe and will receive the necessary treatment she needs. All the staff including chefs, cleaners, laundry, maintenance, amenities and admin staff all work together as a team. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to all.
We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with your mother in our care. Thank you for your kind words.
My issues were understaffed at night - only 3 carers on the night we visited, looking after 25 residents. Also, bad communication with staff/management.
On the whole, we were pleased with the way my mum was looked after. The food was good and available 24 hours a day.
Some of the carers couldn't do enough for us all and were born to care.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. We will certainly pass your comments on to the manager.
My husband has just had a three-week stay at Sutton Lodge and this is about his third stay here. He is happy there and they make a fuss of him and make him feel comfortable and welcome. It makes us feel ok about leaving him as every now and again I need the break. I shall definitely be taking him there again.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. We hope to see you again in the future.
I love this home, so warm and friendly. Staff are excellent. Cannot fault anyone. Someone is always there to listen to our needs. Wish we had found this home before.
Thank you for your praise. Our resident’s health and well being is an absolute priority, so it is always nice to hear from family members feeling like their loved one is cared for and looked after.
Cannot thank this home enough, kind, empathy the whole team. So clean and residents looked after. The food is fresh and wholesome. Sadly my dad didn't have long here but the whole team have looked after him with dignity and us at a very sad time after a previous bad experience at another home. I would 100% recommend Sutton Lodge. Thank you everyone for your kindness.
Thank you for trusting us with your fathers care and we really appreciate the kind words.
My mother's room was light and airy and overlooked the gardens. It was so much less stressful to visit my mother in this environment, than the hospital and was very much the right decision for us all.
Thank you for trusting us with your mothers care. We are very happy to hear you can feel at ease with her in our care
The care given to my aunt until the end was extremely good and all the staff were very kind, kelpful, supportive and understanding.
I am very pleased with the home, I would like to come again. I will tell my family and friends about it so hope I will see you all again. Thanks again for looking after me. You have all been very kind to me.
Thank you for such a lovely review. We hope to see you again soon.
We were extremely happy with the care our mother received at Sutton Lodge.

The facilities were good - comfortable room, clean, activities provided, satisfactory food.
The staff welcomed my father with Dementia and he settled quickly.
I was less reassured that he was supervised regularly in terms of personal hygiene, putting on clean clothes etc.
There did not appear to be any documentation of his personal needs on file when I took him home.
Thank you for your review of Sutton Lodge Care Home. Your comments are extremely important to us and our residents’ health and wellbeing is our absolute priority. We will discuss your feedback with the home’s manager to help them continually improve their service. The Bupa Customer Care Team.
My Grandmother came to Sutton Lodge in February of this year. I live 180 miles away and was growing increasingly concerned about my Grandma's ability to cope in her small flat which ultimately ended in a hospital stay and subsequent move into the home. I was very concerned about how she would be looked after as we are so close and she is very much loved by my family. The home has been fantastic and I literally feel like she has joined another family. They take care of her as if she were their Grandma. I really cannot say enough good things about the team, it is such a lovely place. I sincerely hope I can look forward to the same kind of treatment when I get to my Grandma's age. Thank you, Sutton Lodge, for everything you have done and continue to do for my Grandma. If you are thinking of coming to Sutton Lodge or one of your loved ones needs to go into a care home, you could not find a more attentive, wonderful, warm and loving place for them to go.

My husband, who suffers from vascular dementia, has been cared for/nursed here for 5 1/2 years. Over that time the home has had its ups and downs but now the new management has taken over all is very good again in all aspects. I have complete trust in all members of staff who always treat my husband with dignity and respect. He clearly feels relaxed and safe in this environment which is so important to him and us, his family, after all this time.
Thank you for your review of Sutton Lodge Care Home, we are pleased to hear that you are happy with the care your husband is receiving. We appreciate your comments towards the staff here and glad that your family and husband are happy with the care and support given. We will share this with the care home's manager, The Bupa Customer Care Team.
From our first visit onwards we gained the impression that this was an extremely well run and managed care home. We were needing to find some respite care for my Aunt and we didn't know the area so chose to visit Sutton Lodge as it was close to her home. The Manager was kindness itself, was able to assess my Aunt and admit her that afternoon for 2 weeks respite care. This was such a relief all round as we were unable to provide care for her in her own home and had to return North. My Aunt was very content during her stay and enjoyed the food, care and garden. She was restored from being a frail lady having had some falls and hospital admissions to building up her strength and confidence so that she was able to return home.
Thank you for your review of Sutton Lodge Care Home, we are pleased to hear that you managed to find respite so quickly with us. We appreciate your comments on the manager and glad that your aunt was content during her stay and returned home stronger. We will share your comments with the care homes manager, The Bupa Customer Care Team.
I thank you all here at Sutton Lodge and will remember if I should need your help again.
I'm really pleased to hear that you felt well-cared for at Sutton Lodge. Thank you for your review.
I have always found Sutton Lodge a very clean and tidy home, there's never any smells in the place. The caring staff are all very friendly and considerate and usually go out of their way to do anything for me or my wife.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments of our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
I'm very impressed with the laundry service. The laundry lady is excellent with the washing, ironing and distribution of clothes to the rooms. She should be on the wall of fame. Thank you to all the others who help with laundry.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.
When I arrived at Sutton Lodge care home on 10th July 2017. I was very unwell. I could not walk and had lost 3 stone. Thanks to all the wonderful care and support from the management and staff here, I will be leaving in November 2017 to live independently once again. I have also put back on over 2 stone thanks to the excellent food.
Thank you for your review. I'm so glad to hear that you are now well enough to go back to living independently and that your health continues to improve. I hope that you may wish to come back and stay with us for some respite care in the future and meet up with the friends that you have made while in our care.
Excellent food, excellent room and when my father bought a larger television maintenance fixed it.
Thank you for your review. It is the little things like a smile and a little bit of banter that makes all the difference. I hope that your parents are enjoying the activities. This must give you peace of mind knowing that they are well cared for.
My husband was welcomed into Sutton Lodge and required ongoing nursing care. This was given with cheerful but sympathetic attention and he was made to feel at home, accepted by and given the nursing care he required in an understanding and respectful way. My family and I were comfortable and happy for him to be in Sutton Lodge.
Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear about your positive experience and appreciate your comments about our home and will share your comments with the home’s manager.

Meet the Team (6)

My name is Andrea, and I’m the home manager here at Sutton Lodge. My journey in care began back in 1997, when I started working as a carer in a nursing home that supported both younger adults with complex needs and older residents. From my very first shift, I knew this was where I was meant to be — caring for people, making a difference, and helping others live with dignity and joy.
That passion led me to train as a nurse, and in 2008 I qualified as a registered nurse. I spent several years working across surgical wards and other hospital departments, gaining valuable experience that I’ve carried with me throughout my career.
In 2010 I got married, and I’m now a proud mum to twin daughters and a son — they keep me grounded and remind me every day why care and kindness matter so much. Over the years, I’ve worked in a variety of care homes, supporting residents, families, and staff with dedication and compassion.
I first joined Sutton Lodge as deputy manager and spent three and a half years here before moving on to other management roles within care homes. Four years later, I was delighted to return — this time as home manager. It truly feels like coming home.
Sutton Lodge is such a special place — a small home with a big heart. The warmth, laughter, and sense of family here are what make it so unique. I’m incredibly proud to lead a team that shares my values of compassion, respect, and dedication, and to be part of a home where residents are not just cared for, but truly cherished.

I started my career with Bupa 10 years ago as a Care Assistant, progressing to Senior Carer, Registered Nurse and now Clinical Deputy Manager for the last 2.5 years.
In late 2014 I was studying for a Psychology Degree when I swapped my weekend job at Specsavers for a part-time Care Assistant job at Queensmount Bupa in Bournemouth.
I loved my care job and worked with some amazing people who made me consider an even bigger career change. When I came back home to Surrey after university I transferred to Sutton Lodge and then began a Master’s Degree in Adult Nursing before taking on a Nursing position here. Sutton Lodge feels like my home from home, and I am so proud of my job and the relationships we build with the residents we care for.
I love my role as Deputy Manager and helping the team to feel empowered and grow. The staff here are so kind and caring, and we support each other through the good times as well as the hard times. My favourite days are still my nursing days when I get to spend quality time with our wonderful residents.
I have a lovely rescue dog who is a huge part of my life and we love spending days walking down the Wey Navigation and spending time with my friend's horses. I also recently got married (which was the gossip of Sutton Lodge for many months!)

I am Georgina and I have been working at Sutton Lodge for three and a half years. I started off as a care assistant, before getting promoted to senior care assistant.
For many years, I worked as a private nanny for children. Following that, I worked for M&S.
I finally got a job in a care home and that’s where I found my passion for caring for the elderly.
Sutton lodge is a small home, I love working here. It feels like a small family.
Outside of work, I have a large family, and in my spare time, I spend all my time with them.

My name is Jenny and I am a senior care assistant. I have worked at Sutton Lodge for almost 13 years. I love the family feeling we have with residents, relatives and co-workers alike. I feel we make a real difference to the lives of our residents.

I started my career at Sutton lodge in June 2018 as a care assistant. In November 2021, I changed roles and became an activities co-ordinator.
Over the course of that time, I completed many training courses, including Level 2 in adult care work, Level 2 in English, Level 1 in maths and Level 3 in first aid.
Two years ago, I stepped up and become a senior activities co-ordinator.
I am proud of my work and everything I bring to our home, staff and residents. I am extremely passionate and try my best to plan activities and events around all individuals' needs so everyone can feel involved.
My role has significantly boosted my self-confidence, but more importantly, it has strengthened my skills and abilities in care—especially in leading activities, which are central to my position. I genuinely love my job, and any feedback I receive motivates me to improve and make meaningful changes. I believe there’s always room to learn, grow, and achieve more, especially with the variety of goals, qualifications, and training opportunities available through Bupa and Sutton Lodge.

My name is Teresa - I have worked in care for 5 years and joined the Sutton Lodge team as a carer 3 years ago. For the last 2 years I have been working on reception, where I get to show our lovely home to future residents and their families.
I love working here, we have a fantastic team and are one big happy family.
I have a very naughty basset hound at home who I love taking on walks to various places (his favourite is Esher Woods). I have lived in Walton all my life but hope one day to retire to Devon.
