Tadworth Grove is a purpose-built home that offers residential, nursing and dementia* care, palliative, convalescence and respite stay. At Tadworth Grove, staff are all highly trained in providing 24-hour tailored care. Stays can be from as little as a week. It could be a week to experience living here, a month while recovering from an operation or a more long-term move. Advance bookings available.

Staff get to know each resident personally, to make sure they get the balance between support and independence just right. This provides peace of mind for families and a safe and comfortable home for residents. There are lots of places to relax here. Residents can get their hair done in the salon, enjoy the warmth of the conservatory or catch up with family in one of the lounges. Outside, residents can enjoy views of woodland and horses in neighbouring fields. Landscaped grounds offer several attractive seating areas, raised flowerbeds and wheelchair-friendly paths.

There’s always plenty going on, with things to do arranged every day of the week. There are strong links with the local community and monthly residents’ meetings which means everyone has a say. From weekly singers and entertainers, arts and crafts, games, music clubs to a weekly cheese and wine evening every Wednesday, there is always something going on. So whether loved ones already have a hobby or would like to take up a new one, there are lots of exciting activities to get involved in. Anyone is welcome to pop in and join in, whether a friend, relative or loved one.

It was a pleasure to see my mother again after visiting relatives re-opened. I am extremely happy with all the staff attention and care they have given to her over all the years she has been at Tadworth Grove.

Very friendly and helpful in every way. 1 week stay. Chef has made special food for me as I'm lactose intolerant. Meals have been super. I can't fault it.

I stayed in Tadworth Grove for a week following surgery. The staff who looked after me were kind and considerate and provided assistance when I needed it. My room was comfortable and the meals were very good. My short stay enabled me to rest and recover before returning home.

The place is wonderful. Everyone is so nice to me. I have recently lost my husband and everyone has been amazing. All staff is lovely including the management team. I have been liaising with my family on video call, though I miss them so much.

My mother used your facility for respite during 2019 and again in early 2020. Unfortunately, she passed away in April whilst receiving end of life care. She was on the first floor Willow and prior to her last stay on 2nd Floor. What wonderful caring staff you have. Through such a difficult time, I knew
that she was in safe, caring hands when visiting was not allowed due to the lockdown. From nurses, care staff, cleaners, handyman, to reception and admin, thank you.

I really love this place, it's a very warm and friendly environment. They really do look after the residents here and it makes you feel good about yourself.

I am not in a position to judge full-time nursing care as my observation is of my husband's respite care. He spent about 5 months at Tedworth Grove. Laterly he was in hospital for about 5 weeks, where he became progressively weaker through the treatment given to alleviate the effects of progressive
prostate cancer and more recently acquired infections and discomforts. He was still on oxygen when transferred to Tadworth Grove and died within 3 days, he was not expected to live for long. In my opinion, Tadworth Grove is a cheerful, caring home where every effort is made to make the residents comfortable and interested. Food is freshly cooked and attention given to individual tastes. The overall atmosphere is pleasant. One feels welcome and able to visit at any time. Considerable effort was made by management to transfer my husband to Tadworth as soon as possible after the hospital gave the go ahead and although his time there was short his pennultimate day was his best for months and made the transfer worthwhile and the loss more bearable.

This is the 1st time we used Tadworth Grove, it was extremely well run, staff excellent, hygienic and cleanliness was just perfect - better than another care home we had used in the past.
If respite required again would definitely go back.
Food is excellent.

Food excellent - menu varied but rarely seen, only verbal choice, housekeeping haphazard. Breakfast offer came before I had been given the opportunity to get out of bed. Staff friendly, willing and helpful when asked.

My mother went into the home for just one week's respite whilst I went on a much needed short break.
She was not looking forward to it but from the first day, she quickly settled, enjoying the care and attention she received. She is actively looking forward to going to stay again for another week in
March, meaning I can leave her there guilt free knowing she is happy and being cared for in pleasant, friendly surroundings.

It is lovely to see the dedication of the staff and volunteers to the residents, although there are times when there are not enough staff and the volunteers are over-relied upon to pick up the slack. The food is very good although Mum is frustrated at having soft food. Most staff show great empathy
for the residents but some less so (and can be abrupt). I feel it is extremely important for all staff in this caring profession to have great empathy skills to minimise the frustrations that come with age and reduced independence. Special thanks to one volunteer, the Activity Coordinator and Senior housekeeper for being so cheery and helpful.

Good care over medication. Small but good, bedroom with hand basin and towels on the ground floor.
The right level of blankets on the bed replaced daily. Good meals with reasonable choice.

Since the new manager has taken over Tadworth Grove, she has made many many great changes.
She really cares about her residents and their well being. Tadworth Grove was a good place before but now it is a great place for your loved ones.

Following a stay in hospital, I'm here to recuperate for a couple of weeks or so.
As the nursing home is close to my own home, I've no feeling of being far from my friends and family.
I'm comfortable, sleeping well and it's beautifully quiet during the night.
The nurses regularly check to see I'm
OK and a lovely pot of tea arrives at 6.30am at my request, then a wonderful 'wet room' shower is available for me to start my day.
I'm beginning to feel rested and well treated. The physio and podiatrist are available too, and a hairdresser visits on a weekly basis.
All positive and encouraging for me to get well soon and back in my own home.
I can recommend this to anyone wanting to fully recover from anything or indeed a longer stay.

Soonita Shaw

Job Title: Home Manager Joined: 2018

Soonita Shaw is responsible for the day to day running of Tadworth Grove care home. She brings more than 25 years of experience in the health and social care industry to her role.


Soonita holds a Registered Managers Award and a Diploma in Health and Social Services Management and has a successful track record in care home management in three other large corporate companies. Soonita has a wealth of knowledge on what good care looks like.


Soonita joined Bupa in March 2018. Her main focus is to support residents to have a good quality of life, maintain their independence and ensure they live in a lovely environment.

Angela Fechita

Job Title: Deputy Clinical Manager Joined: 2016

As a Deputy Manager and Registered nurse, I lead a professional team in providing the highest standards of care for up to 45 residents with varying needs.


I’m at my best when I’m caring for other people and I believe relationships are incredibly important, so I am personally involved in all of our residents’ everyday lives.


One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is improving lives by supporting residents and their families. Every resident we care for has a history and a story to tell and learning about their lives is a wonderful privilege.


Supporting and developing the team around me is also very important to me, as this enhances our residents’ lives and drives outstanding care.


Outside of work, I lead an active lifestyle as a keen cyclist (mountain biking), hiking and running for charity events 5 and 10 k’s.

I joined Tadworth Grove as the home's receptionist in January 2008. I decided to move into the administrator position when it became vacant, and this has been my role for the last two years.


Before joining Bupa, I worked as a clinic receptionist and a primary school teaching assistant.


Tadworth Grove is a lovely home with a great team and it’s lovely to see our residents happy and settled.


Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have two grandchildren and with a third on the way, so spare time will become a distant memory!

I have worked in the catering industry since 1981 after gaining a Diploma in Professional Cookery at Westminster College, London.


I have held many chef roles including Executive Chef and Regional Development Chef for a large contract catering company specialising in gaining new contracts and opening new multi-sites such as Glaxo Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Defence sites, Cisco System, N.E.C. and IBM to name but a few.


I joined Bupa in 2005. In 2013 I was the Bupa Judge Chef for a National Bupa Bake-off competition. I prefer baking cakes and have made numerous themed, party and show stopper cakes for clients, staff and residents families.


I am a proud father of five children and recently became a grandfather for the 3rd time.

I came to Bupa in 2010 as a carer and have personal experience of dementia care having looked after my mother.


I was promoted to Senior Housekeeper 3 years ago and now not only help out with the care of our residents but I keep the home clean too.


I spend my time listening and chatting to residents which is a very rewarding part of my role and I get a great buzz knowing that I can make a difference to their lives.


I worked for Tesco in the security department for 24 years and then as a carer for Better@Homes for approximately 6 years.

Job Title: Loving Pet Joined: 2018

Smudge, the cat was named by one of our residents and he joined Tadworth Grove on 19th June 2018 aged 10 weeks.


Smudge is the youngest resident. He is looking forward to completing his course of immunisation so he can have free run of the home and gardens and make lots of new friends.


Smudge is well loved by all our residents and relatives.
