Wray Common Nursing Home with its English garden setting and wealth of charm and character is situated in a quiet residential area of Reigate, Surrey.

Nursing Care, Comfort and Friendship in a 'Home from Home' atmosphere are an essential part of the very high Nursing standards provided. Registered Nurses and care assistants are selected not only for their experience and Nursing skills but also for the warmth of personality they bring to the home. The welfare of patients is catered for twenty four hours a day, by professional and trained staff, under the supervision of the highly qualified Matron in charge.

All Rooms, are centrally heated, tastefully decorated and furnished to enhance the light airy atmosphere of the home. A day longe provides a regular meeting place with colour television for residents viewing pleasure. If desired they may also have a television set for private viewing in their own room.

Recognising that some residents prefer privacy and some companionship, there are both single and twin bedded rooms on either the ground or first floor, with an accompanied lift available. Some residents like to have familiar objects with them and are very welcome to bring personal possessions, such as a favourite table or chair and ornaments for their own room.

Meals are taken in pleasant dining rooms, or if desired in the resident's own room. Chefs take pride in the variety and quality of their cuisine. Tempting meals are provided and special dietary needs and personal preferences are also catered for whilst maintaining a well balanced and nutritious menu.

Care workers nderstand the very individual needs of all residents and offer a variety of professional services including Chiropodists, Optician and Hairdresser on a regular basis. A General Practitioner visits regularly and as required. All religions can be catered for with visits from various Ministers.

Dad was at the home for a year with terminal cancer. The care and love he received was amazing. He was very happy there and the staff were so kind and caring. We felt welcome every time we visited and became part of the family. Towards the end, we could visit anytime for as long as we needed. They treated
him with the utmost respect throughout his time there.

My mother has been at Wray Common for five years now. I have always found the staff to be cheerful and happy in their work. They have attended to Mum's needs in a caring and efficient manner. Mum's room is always clean. Mum has dementia which can make her behaviour rather unpredictable but this has
not daunted the team. It has a very homely atmosphere. The staff have coped tremendously well with the extra demands that Covid has placed on them.

My dad loved his four years stay at Wray Common, and was the most relaxed and interactive for a long time. The team had engaged with Dad, and me in an open, honest and supportive discussion about end of life plans, so that when Dad fell ill with bronchial pneumonia, we could all focus on his care, well
being and pain management. All the staff, including nurses, carers and support team displayed nothing but professionalism and support to Dad and our family so that during a difficult period of lockdown during the pandemic, the final days were made bearable for all of us. Dad was made comfortable and had a carer with him at the end, and I was able to visit a few days beforehand despite restrictions. They did a marvellous job - thank you.

My family and I will be forever thankful that we chose Wray Common Nursing Home for our mum. She settled in well and appeared relaxed and contented for the duration she was in their care. All the staff are lovely, everyone was friendly and polite and it was always a joy to visit Mum. Dad has already
requested that he is to be sent to the same home, should the need arise. He misses everyone he met there, we thank you all.

I could not recommend this home enough.
The home is spotless and someone is always cleaning. My husband likes all the staff and they are always so kind and gentle with him.
His room is always clean and so is he and his bedding. I am so grateful to them.

The Wray Common Care Home completely changed our family’s view of nursing homes. They were, luckily, able to welcome our 98-year-old mother straight from the local hospital for end of life care. That was a real relief to us. All the staff constantly smiled and made us feel pleased that our mother was
in such good hands for the specialist skilled nursing that she needed. Her bedroom was elegant, beautifully appointed with lovely views. It was similar to her room at home. We were able to visit whenever we wanted and to take personal items to make it feel more familiar. For the five weeks that our mother stayed at the Wray Common, we couldn’t have asked for kinder more constant care: we will never forget their friendship and reassurances. Thank you to the manager and all the wonderful team for all you did during that special time. Top marks to you all.

Wray Common was very clean, fully equipped and well run. The staff were very professional and appropriately qualified. My mother had a comfortable room and was very well cared for. The home paid attention to her needs, both practical and emotional. The staff were friendly, helpful and respected her
wishes and needs. Most days she was able to enjoy the company of other residents for lunch and afternoon activities. If she did not feel up to this, she could have her meals in her own room. She was very happy there for her last year and died there with peace and dignity.

My Aunt's stay at this home made a great difference to her peace of mind and general wellbeing. The staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. My Aunt was glad to have the feeling of having her own private room and bathroom, she was glad to have friends visit and I was glad to be
able to have tea and cake with my aunt.
The staff have been good to me also.

My aunt has been in the home since August 2018. We can visit any time of the day. Her room is bright and she can look out at trees. She is bedridden. She was very poorly when she went in, but now she looks brighter. On her 100th Birthday, she was presented with flowers and a beautiful cake with cream
and strawberries from the staff.
She is being excellently looked after.

I am very happy with the care in this home, some of the decorations are a little shabby but the care and kindness showed to the residents and their families is good. My husband has been a resident for over two years and whilst he was able to participate in the daily organised activities we found them
well planned, interesting and enjoyable. The care he receives is kind and caring and the staff are always helpful. My aunt has recently been in the home for 3 months until her death and she received much care and kindness during that time.

From the first day my mum entered Wray Common she was treated with respect, kindness and love, they were her family when we weren't able to be with her. She was offered the chance to sit in the lounge but Mum likes her own room and television and they respected her wishes. She did enjoy the parties
and everyone who ever passed her door always spoke to her. Sadly she passed away in July, comfortable with dignity. As a family, we can't thank Wray Common enough.

I cannot fault the care and dedication of all the staff at Wray Common Nursing Home. My mother went to the care home in January 2017. My mother was very ill and we did not expect her to last long, however, due to the excellent care of the staff mother actually lasted 18 months. All staff offered the
dignity our old people deserve and I would like to thank each and every one of them.

My mother was admitted to the home in January 2017 and was really frail. The care she received improved her quality of life, she was really happy there and felt it was her home. We as a family were always warmly welcomed and all queries answered when raised. Mum died on July 12th 2018 peacefully with
a carer with her, and we were met with sympathy and kindness.

In the few weeks that my aunt spent in your care, she was looked after and was liked by the staff. If she wanted to stay in her room or join in activities there was always that choice, no pressure either way. A very warm welcoming nursing home.
