My mother was admitted to the home in January 2017 and was really frail. The care she received improved her quality of life, she was really happy there and felt it was her home. We as a family were always warmly welcomed and all queries answered when raised. Mum died on July 12th 2018 peacefully with a carer with her, and we were met with sympathy and kindness.

In the few weeks that my aunt spent in your care, she was looked after and was liked by the staff. If she wanted to stay in her room or join in activities there was always that choice, no pressure either way. A very warm welcoming nursing home.

My father was treated with the greatest of respect at an extremely difficult time. The staff gave me and my family the utmost support. My father was treated with kindness and dignity at all times. The staff were amazing, friendly and kind. I could not ask for a better place for my father to spend the last few months of his life.

I had occasion to complain recently with regard to the cleanliness of my husband's room. A lot of dirt and dust behind his bedside cabinet, where I found a watch he'd mislaid several weeks earlier, and from the corner of the big mirror above his bed, a cobweb which I photographed over a period of 3 weeks. I was told that my husband wouldn't let the cleaners do his room. I don't understand how he could stop them, but after my complaints, his room was deep cleaned and bulbs replaced in lights.

This was an issue that was raised some 3-4 months ago which was resolved at the time. I cannot go into detail as that would not be appropriate, however, we have to respect residents wishes and sometimes their decisions may seem unusual to families.

My wife aged 91 has been in Wray Common for 2 years 5 months.
I chose Wray Common from the recommendations of two friends with relatives in the home and after visiting sixteen other care homes.
I am more than pleased with the choice.
My wife has advanced Alzheimer's and the staff take great care in feeding and looking after her.

When I have made recommendations the directors have taken note and made the necessary changes.

My mother in law arrived at Wray Common a year ago, she settled in within 3 days and was so happy. My mother was in another care home that CQC decided was good, but in all honesty, fell way below standard. After seeing the care, respect and dignity that all staff at Wray Common give their clients, I immediately moved my mum to Wray Common. Mum had been there just under a year. Today she has passed away in the most beautiful dignified way, attended to by professional and compassionate staff. I was unable to be there, but I felt confident that a member of staff (who are like family to the residents) was with her at the end. How lucky was she to be cared for in such a way?

This nursing home is a little gem in the jungle of care facilities. Having come from a bad experience that was exhausting for myself, I can fully appreciate the excellent care in this oasis of calm, and compassion. I cannot praise the staff enough.

My mother was in Wray Common about 3 months but sadly passed away on New Year's Day her 98th birthday. In those three months, I cannot thank all the staff enough for all the care and attention given to my mother. I have to make a special mention to the nurses and activity team who were wonderful. We chose well for her in what was a lovely, homely and caring environment.

Thank you also to the manager, nothing was too much trouble.

Mum has been living at Wray Common Nursing Home for over a year. She has advanced dementia and is unable to walk as the result of a fall in 2016. The move from hospital into her new home was so calm, warm and welcoming and a massive relief after such a difficult time. Knowing that Mum would have around the clock nursing care gave me back my sleep! I feel there is an exceptional team of committed nurses here and it's proven in that Mum hasn't needed to go into hospital once which is in sharp contrast to before. Matron is clearly a great boss who is kind and sensitive with an open door policy to everyone that needs to talk. I completely trust her and I know Mum is totally safe and wonderfully cared for. Standards are all very high with care staff cleaning, activities, catering and building maintenance too. The staff check on Mum at very regular intervals and they are always polite and smiley. As mum's primary carer for the many years previously I can only say the most huge thank you!

My mother was admitted to Wray Common after spending three months in hospital. She had been left in bed and lost the ability to walk. Carers have got her up and out of bed and she is now partaking of activities.
Staff are very friendly and caring. They always have a smile and can't do enough for you.
They have given me my mother back, rather than an old lady left to lie in bed all day and do nothing.

I cannot recommend the home highly enough.

My Mother was a resident from July 2016 until she passed away in November 2017. During that time she was very well looked after and I cannot thank the staff enough for the great care and attention they gave my mother. I would also like to thank the staff for all the cups of tea, coffee and biscuits we enjoyed during our visits.

Once again many thanks to the Matron and her team for all they did for my Mum.

My brother and I were extremely pleased with the care given to our Mother. We found Wray Common to be 'homely' but also well-equipped; it was kept to a high level of cleanliness. The staff were professional and efficient but also very kind; the cheerful atmosphere was lovely. The food and the way it was served was excellent - especially the cakes!

My husband lived in Wray Common Nursing Home from January 2017 until his death in September 2017. He was treated with great kindness and dignity, by all staff, carers and especially the matron.

The room was always clean and the bedding was fresh and spotlessly clean every day. He was looked after in every way.

My father was so ill and frail by the time he came to Wray Common that he was quite a challenge, to say the least. He was looked after so beautifully by such caring staff, they are all so professional and kind and had time to smile - even the window cleaner gave a cheerful wave, important when life's "difficult". My father was given a haircut by the visiting hairdresser which I never thought possible, an amazing woman. I was truly taken aback at how my father's care was just taken on as if they had cared for him for years. I was given peace of mind that he was in a safe, calm home for his last days. Thank you, you gave him peace and dignity.

We found the home to provide excellent sympathetic and thoroughly professional service and care to my elderly mother. She was supported at all times and we have no complaints to air, indeed we have a very high opinion of the home and staff as a whole.
My mother was a resident for fourteen months until her recent death and at no time did I or the family have anything but good things to say about her stay with Wray Common Nursing Home.

Highly recommended.
