Overall Experience
My father moved into Ashridge Court end of May. Since then he has been cared for with kind, patient members of staff. I have always found him to look clean and tidy a far cry from before! His room is always hoovered and tidy, bedding changed frequently.

More importantly, the staff have been exceptional. never too much trouble to help my father, always an activity going on that he seems to enjoy every day. The staff's kindness and understanding make this an excellent care home.

Overall Experience

My parents have only just moved into Ashridge Court. I am beyond impressed by the level of care; professionalism; wonderful, kind and dedicated staff. There is a great sense of 'family' and it truly feels like home. My parents have moved here from a residential home as my father needed the nursing care, he was deteriorating rapidly and was hardly eating anything. However, since arriving at Ashridge, it is absolutely amazing to see my father eating again, with the most dedicated and patient care, he is being assisted to eat. This has made a world of difference, plus the food is really good! I have been caring for my parents at home for the past 2+ years, and this is the first time I have ever truly felt 100% confident that they are being extremely well looked after and that I can finally take the rest I need. They are in very safe hands indeed. It is a very peaceful and happy home.

My Mum has been at Ashridge since November 2023.
She has been extremely well looked after. The care has been amazing. She has had a few health issues but the care & attention to details has never failed.
All the staff from the top Pam, Lisa the senior nursing team Tessy , Monica, Annie. Are all incredibly kind & caring.
Debbie who does the administration is so helpful & very efficient.
The carers are efficient and know the residents as individuals which is reassuring.
Gemma who organises the daily events is fantastic. There is always something to occupy the residents.
The catering team are excellent.

The whole building is clean & the laundry service is good.

Overall I cannot find fault with the day to day service at the home.

Not only do they care about the residents but their families too. They always have time to go through things with you. They always contact me if there are any issues.

I can't thank them all enough.

Overall Experience

My mother, 103 years of age, entered Ashridge Court near the end of February after suffering three strokes while in residential care elsewhere. She needed experienced care and nursing for the end of her life. She could not have gone to a better place. All of the staff from the housekeepers, the kitchen staff, the carers, the receptionist, the facilities staff, the nursing staff, the practitioners to the deputy manager and general manager were all so kind, compassionate and professional in making mum's last days comfortable and peaceful. Sadly mum died after only 18 days at Ashridge Court but my family and I were so pleased she went there to end her life so peacefully and with such dignity.

From the moment of my first visit before Mum went for her stay, I was overwhelmed with the care and attention that the staff gave me. This reassured me I was taking mum to somewhere lovely. Since Mum arrived for respite the staff have shown her nothing but kindness and patience. Nothing is too much. Ashridge Court is very clean and welcoming. The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable. The day rooms have beautiful views out to the sea and are also lovely and kept clean and tidy. Well done to all the staff. Happy staff - happy home - happy mum

Overall Experience

The care my mum received at Ashridge Court was fantastic. My mum didn't have many visitors and she was very badly affected by Alzheimer's Disease. However, I have always been very confident in the care she was receiving. Contact with me was frequent, and I always felt involved in decisions about her care.

It is very clear that the staff had a wonderful relationship with my mum, and that she has always received the best of care and attention from everyone. I never worried about her being lonely or alone.

My wife and I spent every day for nearly two weeks with my mum before she passed away. While we were there, everyone was fantastic with us too. All the staff were incredibly helpful, supportive and empathetic. It was, of course, a difficult time. However, the staff made it as positive as possible, and we never felt in any way unwelcome.

Aside from the excellent care my mum received, I am incredibly grateful for the care we received too.

In short, everyone has been outstanding.

We will forever be grateful to the team at Ashridge Court for the incredible care and compassion they showed our mum in her final weeks of life. From the moment she arrived, she was treated with dignity, kindness, and genuine respect. It was clear that everyone truly cared, not only for Mum, but for us as a family too. During such a difficult time, the staff constantly made sure we were also looking after ourselves - offering tea, food, kind words, and always checking in on how we were coping. On Mum's last night, they even made up a bed for us so we could stay close to her in comfort. Those little gestures meant the world to us. A special mention must go to two members of staff in particular - we shared some laughs with them, and their warmth, humour, and tenderness brought so much comfort. They were both amazing with Mum, and we will never forget them. There are simply too many wonderful people to name individually - but please know that the management and entire team were truly exceptional.

My mother, aged 94, has been a resident since Oct 2023. The care she has received is excellent. All staff(nurses and their assistants, carers, housekeeping, catering, activities, administration, and management) are kind and compassionate and make sure Mum is safe and well. She has a lovely room with a view that overlooks the fields down to the sea. There are many activities available to residents, and Mum really enjoys the weekly seated exercise session that includes games and memory exercises. The food is excellent, but on the odd occasion, if nothing on the menu takes her fancy, she has the option to request something she chooses herself. The management is very approachable and addresses any issues appropriately that may arise. I have no hesitation in recommending Ashridge Court Care Centre.

Mum has been at Ashridge Court since February 2023, after we had cause to move her from another care home in the area.
The positive change in her was amazing. She quickly flourished (from being nervous, not talking and wanting to sleep all day) to being confident, chatty and sleeping all night! The staff, from the lovely Manager, all the way down to the most junior, are wonderful. Always professional and, so importantly, kind and caring. Mum used to be a carer and sometimes she likes to 'help out'. The staff encourage this and allow her to do small tasks, thereby making her feel worthwhile and part of a team again.

Mum also loves the manicures that the staff do. They have a very nice range of nail colours! Ashridge has as much of a 'home from home' feel as it is possible to have and the residents and staff are very much 'one big family'!.

Generally the care home is good, but the ongoing issue of buzzer response time continues, causing distress when needing the toilet often attending when it is too late. The use of agency staff, especially at the weekends is probably the cause as they don't know the residents and their needs that well and the personal touch is missing. Low staffing means my mother can not be bathed, although she is showered once a week. The carers don't seem to telling the nursing staff of any sores, rashes, pain and feet problems she has.

This seems like a big moan, but generally the carehome is nice and clean, entertainment is good, as is the food, and the full time staff are great.

Ashridge Court Care Centre has offered us hope as a family, our relative following discharge of a lengthy duration in hospital, provision of good attentive care in advancing years of life for numerous care needs. It is also comforting for us as a family to know a loved one is afforded good care, privacy, great respect where dignity is maintained. Care staff teams, including management/supervisory teams all work together in the day to day running of a busy nursing/care home.

Great attentiveness in both great and small things make life a joy for residents. Nothing is never too much trouble for their residents. Realistic goals are set or provided if required or needed to offer purpose and to help maintain meaningful purposes for all residents where ever possible. Our relative is bedridden, yet staff are always close by 24/7 and never far away, ready to answer alarm or call alerts. We are so fortunate to have found a wonderful place where good care is provided and great compassion abounds.
