I can highly recommend Ashridge Court Care Centre. My mother has received excellent care from the care staff and nurses who are very warm and friendly. The nursing staff are approachable and always willing to answer any concerns. There is a lovely atmosphere as soon as you enter and there's always a friendly greeting by the reception staff. The premises are spotlessly clean.

I'm glad I have chosen Ashridge Court to care for Mum.

My Aunt was always cared for even during challenging times. The staff always tried to communicate even though she was profoundly deaf. Everyone was welcoming to the family and the room was always immaculately clean. She was allowed to make her room her own. The staff were always sympathetic to her needs. 10 years of great care. Thank you!

I have been visiting Ashridge for nearly 17 years on and off visiting different relatives. My grannie, grandad and Great aunt have all stayed here. Their end of life care for all three people has been tailored to the individual needs of each relative. Every staff member has been welcoming and kind to both extended family visiting and relatives that lived there. Thank you for all your hard work.

Reply from Gail Watkins, Home Manager at Ashridge Court Care Centre

Many thanks for your extremely kind words! We have enjoyed getting to know you and your family over the last 17 years while you have been visiting the home, and are also delighted that you feel that your grannie, grandad and great aunt were in good hands. It has been a pleasure and a privilege to care for all your relatives and we hope to see you and your family again in the future.

My mother was in Ashridge Court Care Centre for about a month. The staff was professional at all times. During her last week, it made me realise how hard they all work under difficult circumstances. The care they gave my mother in her last few days was amazing. When my mother could communicate with me, she said the staff was kind to her. That made me feel very happy that she was being looked after so well.

Knowing that means a lot to us all at the home. She is much missed. We would like to extend our condolences for your sad loss and wish you, your brother and the family all the best for the future.

My mother was at Ashridge for fifteen months. She was never taken outside the door even into the garden the whole time she was there. I had to provide yoghurts as she was given mushy peas for an afternoon snack!

On arriving at Ashridge she stood on transfer but they immediately hoisted her which she wasn’t fond of and often lashed out. I moved her to another home where she has sat in the garden on many occasions.

Dear Kim

Thank you for your comments. We are very surprised by some of the issues that you have raised. For example, we are very proud of our beautiful gardens here at Ashridge Court and do try to ensure that our residents spend as much time out of doors as possible when the weather is fine,...

I stayed in Ashridge court for 14 days. It was near to my home and I had heard good reviews. I used it for respite care as I was taking so long to recover from a colostomy that I needed somewhere between the hospital and home. Ashridge fulfilled this perfectly. I had good food which built up my strength and after early teething problems, I was allowed as much independence as I could handle. The carers also helped me with the stairs so that I would manage at home. I am very grateful to all the staff at Ashridge.

From day one the staff at Ashridge Court made me feel welcome and that Mum was in safe hands. The level of care over the time she was in the home was outstanding - she gradually declined in her health and ability but the staff ensured that she kept her dignity right until she passed away this month. I would unreservedly recommend this care home for anyone looking in the Bexhill area.

My mother was admitted to Ashridge in need of nursing care from hospital. She was afforded great courtesy, wonderful care from dedicated, very friendly, kind and efficient staff, both management and of course nurses, and health care assistants alike. Nothing was too much trouble and she had a very smart room. She always asked me to try the food too, which was very good, food is like medicine to those in need. The staff were equally solicitous of my well being while I visited on a daily basis. My mother passed away, she was elderly and her condition frail. The staff treated her with great dignity and this was the same with every other resident. This is most important at a time in a human being's life when it is one of the last kindnesses that others can perform for them. I cannot speak too highly of Ashridge Court and I would recommend their services to anyone - they have a very good reputation among doctors and the nursing profession in the vicinity. A big heartfelt thank you.

The level of care is outstanding and not only in relation to nursing and provision of meals but also in the time, interest and friendliness shown by all the staff. This is what my mother values most of all and really helps her to adjust to the loss of independence and not being able to see her friends as often as she used to.

My father came into Ashridge Court with a serious lung infection on a two-week respite basis. Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated and he passed away after 8 days. During his stay, he commented on how wonderfully well he was looked after and how attentive and caring all the staff were. He was treated with great compassion and dignity.

I cannot speak too highly regarding the loving care my husband has received since coming here - in every respect. From the time he arrived almost 6 years ago with dementia, I could no longer cope with until the present time when he has come to the end of life - I have been able to return home knowing he was in the best possible hands.

My mother moved to Ashridge Court for nearly 3 months of palliative care before she passed away there. From the moment I started my impromptu visit of Ashridge Court I appreciated the light, cleanliness and inclusiveness of the centre. The manager took the time to show me around all of the building, including their safe and sensitively managed dementia wing. I was shown an available room with a beautiful view and with the space I knew mum needed. Over the weeks following mum moving in I got to meet all of the staff who worked in Willow Wing and, without exception, each of them took the time to get to know her and consistently showed high standards of care, attentiveness, patience, and professionalism. There is a strong sense of community and commitment to making the lives of others better throughout the Centre and I believe this is led from the top down. I cannot speak highly enough of the team there and how they support relatives as well as the residents during good times and sad.

I have been impressed by the quality of care since my father has been at this home.
The staff are lovely and it is very reassuring to know he is being looked after so well when I am not there.

The food is also very good and he evidently enjoys it.

I admitted her to Ashridge Court on a permanent basis as a fully private-funding patient and we have been very pleased with the level of care and encouraging results.
The majority of all staff show a willingness to understand and make her happy, comfortable and to communicate. Not easy to begin with. She has always been very independent and never wanting to be cared for.
Now they are all a big family.
The qualified nurses and the events team are particularly good.

I would recommend this care home without hesitation.

Our father, who had dementia, needed a home that could provide both nursing and end of life care. We chose Ashridge Court because we liked the feel of its rooms and we loved the location, but mostly because the manager convinced us that she had the staff and the resources to give Dad the best possible support. She has lived up to this promise. His brief stay was a roller-coaster ride, his condition frequently changing, but my brother and I were kept constantly updated and consulted whenever possible. When we visited we found the staff to be friendly, caring and professional. When Dad’s health deteriorated, we were advised that the end was near and were able to plan a final visit. As we were away during Dad’s final days, they made daily contact with us and spent as much time with him as possible. The manager also obtained a death certificate. We are both very grateful to all the staff for the care and compassion that they have shown to our family.

I feel that my mother is well cared for in this home. For the amount she pays, however, I think the room she is in could be better decorated and the furniture could match. Curtains could also be made to match and be of a better quality. Chair covers could be cleaner and carpet less tired looking. I have the impression that the furniture is just odd pieces left by previous residents. The TV is hard to operate as well.
