Overall Experience

My mother in law was a resident at Inglewood House in Eastbourne for two years, until her death in April 2107. She was unable to leave her room, so I cannot comment on the activities and social life of residents there, but she was very content and comfortable at Inglewood House. The staff were extremely kind and attentive and she always felt safe and cared for there. She was very fond of her carers and they of her. The carers were also very kind to and communicative with my husband during her last weeks. She had a sunny and pleasant room. The atmosphere at Inglewood is calm, capable and caring. She also reported that the food was good, and her needs regarding newspapers, books and radio were always attended to with alacrity. I can recommend Inglewood House as a pleasant and caring community that does its job well.

I found all the staff really helpful. I didn't really see much of the management. Laundry lady made me laugh every day.

Where do I begin? The staff were wonderful. They were always there to help if needed, nothing was too much trouble. When you entered the premises you always got a warm welcome. My husband had the best care they could give him. Even in his last days, they could not do enough for him. I have a lot of praise for the home.

The care my father received was above and beyond expectation. He was looked after extremely well 24/7 until his last moment. Even after he passed, while in their care, the support for our family was exceptional, beyond their duty.

Myself and my family would like to praise the home and its staff. Thank you very much for the care and support.

My mother was moved into Inglewood for end of life care.
I needed her to be comfortable and feel safe and secure.
I cannot thank the staff enough for the kindness, care and consideration that they showed to her (and myself) at this difficult time.

I am truly grateful.

My mother has been in Inglewood Nursing Home for 2 and a half years, during this time she has been very well cared for and looked after. Sadly this February she became seriously ill and passed away. I cannot stress enough how supportive and caring Inglewood were both to my mother in her last days and to us as a family. This caring support has helped us as a family to cope with losing our precious mum. They knew us and mum so well that they were able to offer appropriate help, we really appreciate their love and care.

I found the home to be friendly, efficient and caring. All of the staff seemed committed to making my mothers stay as good and comfortable as possible. The management were always available if I needed to discuss any issues and anything bought up was done immediately. I was sorry to remove my mother from Inglewood the only reason I did so was because we moved areas.

On the whole, my brother received a high standard of care during his thirteen-month stay. Some staff carried out personal care more thoroughly and sensitively than others. Training could possibly improve some care assistants. I was always greeted courteously by the friendly receptionist and any problem was usually dealt with efficiently. It is difficult for me to comment more helpfully as I was not on the recieveing end of the care.

I went to see my dear friend and as I go in, I am greeted by people at the desk and in the office - as there is usually something to chat about. As I wander down the hallway speaking to the girls, I notice that my friend is fast asleep so I read my book and eat my lunch - She wakes and I do not get a word in edgeways! She can yap a hind leg off a donkey. The girls wander in and out and offer drinks. All very friendly and I feel at home. Very clean, light and airy in the room and I have no complaints - They look after all of their visitors very well.

My uncle has been a resident at Inglewood for three months and I have been very pleased with the care and attention he has received. All the staff are pleasant and have time to speak to me whenever I have a question and all staff are courteous and nothing is too much trouble. He has been very happy and can joke and laugh with all the staff.

I would certainly recommend Inglewood to anyone looking for a nursing home.

My mother has been living at Inglewood since May this year. She is very happy and relaxed- the happiest I have seen her for years. She loves her room- filled with her own possessions, likes the food and most of all enjoys seeing the cheerful and caring staff. She feels well looked after. She goes on a couple of outings a week in the minibus and gets out into the garden whenever she can. Now she feels so settled she is intending to join in with the daily activities on offer. She enjoys regular hairdressing and always looks smartly dressed. She loves the little extra treats that Inglewood provide.

I offer my sincere thoughts to all the staff at Inglewood who took care of my aunt. Her care has been continuously of a very high standard, very professional but with concern and commitment for the human being she was. Her remaining family and friends all thank you for taking such good care of her in her moment of need. We really appreciate all you did for her and your kindness. Thank you also for attending her funeral and for the cards you sent. You are an excellent care home staffed by excellent people. Thank you.
