Coppice Court Care Home, situated just outside the popular seaside resort of Eastbourne, offers personalised nursing and nursing dementia care.

Having recently undergone a refurbishment programme which transformed communal areas including dining rooms, lounges/day rooms, the activities room, reception area, hair salon, bathrooms and corridors, Coppice Court provides contemporary but cosy living spaces. Each area was thoughtfully designed to enhance the daily life of every resident and support the mind, body and soul. The pretty landscaped garden and patio is the perfect spot to spend time with friends and family.

Recognising the nutritional needs of older people, the catering team at Coppice Court designed varied and delicious menus to offer residents a dining experience that they can look forward to. Meals can be enjoyed across the range of popular dining areas and for the warmer months the outdoor spaces are also firm favourites with residents and their loved ones to enjoy a spot of al fresco dining.

The dedicated and professional care team at Coppice Court take time to learn about each resident’s hobbies and interests, allowing them to curate an engaging and enriching activity programme, supporting residents to enjoy the things they love most. From building relationships with neighbours in local community groups and schools, to arranging sightseeing trips in the local area, at Coppice Court, residents are also encouraged to take an active role in the Eastbourne community.

Firstly, most of the Care Assistants and Nurses are excellent and provided good care to our friend but there are not enough of them. However, Management is shocking. Our friend had items stolen and police were also informed on a safeguarding issue when our friend was hurt. This was investigated and
dealt with internally and is recorded.
Phone calls are mostly unanswered at weekend and evenings. Current investigation ongoing involving money stolen from Reception, in spite of upper management trying to whitewash over it.
All of this has caused much stress and heartache. Sadly our friend has now passed.
If you are considering this place for a relative or friend, then I would advise to stay clear. There are other homes out there to consider.

Our own enquiries and those by external agencies have been undertaken in relation to the claim of harm and the area director is meeting with the friend next week to discuss the alleged theft though it is difficult to investigate when valuables are left at reception unattended out of hours. We are sorry calls went unanswered at the weekend; we will look into this matter as we were unaware there is an issue.

My dad was transferred here from another care home in October this year. The difference here for dad is second to none. Dad is a very difficult person to care for but here, nothing is too much trouble. Every single member of staff shows such care and empathy towards him, giving him time and patience.
Everybody from management, carers, well-being, house keeping to kitchen staff, always have a smile on their face. They keep me updated and informed in all aspects of dad's care. I have finally found dad's forever home and would recommend Coppice Court to anybody.

Since my mum has been here, shes been incredibly happy. She loves all the staff and is always laughing with them. She spends time in the dining/lounge area eating and taking part in activities. The stimulation and the caring staff are why my mum has lived to 101. I have watched staff who put a gentle
hand on a patients shoulder or stroke a patients cheek. Just little things that make them feel cared for.

A friend of mine who is 93 was on the ground floor (dementia floor). He was neglected in many ways and I witnessed a lot of inappropriate behaviour by the staff on that floor including the screening of a sexually explicit tv programme. His daughter also witnessed these things and we raised a safeguarding
issue with adult social care. This has been investigated and adult social care found evidence to back up our claims. This report has now been sent to HC-One and the CQC. My mum was also in the home on the top floor (nursing). The care in that floor is much better. Although money was stolen from her purse and this wasn't investigated by the manager. She should have reported it to the police and she didn't. The staff on the top floor work very hard and are often short-staffed and don't have much time to spend with the residents. On occasions, it has taken 20 minutes or more to answer her call bell because of this. A safeguarding issue has been raised with ASC with regard to the theft.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. Due to confidentiality, we cannot discuss matters raised about your friend, but we can advise any concerns were dealt with, and feedback was given to the family. It can take time for some residents to adjust to living in a care setting, especially those with dementia. It may also take us some time to understand residents as they may not be able to express their needs. A full investigation into alleged colleague conduct was carried out but there was no evidence to support this claim by the home or adult social care. Had this been raised at the time we would have been able to immediately deal with any issues. Our allocations system in the home means all colleagues work on both floors so there is no difference in the care provided only in the care needs of residents as one community is nursing and the other is dementia. We regularly have resident dependency reviews to ensure accurate staffing levels are in place. Police involvement was not wanted by the resident and her partner and as per contract we are not responsible for lost items, but we do have a safe for residents’ use. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you wish to discuss anything further. Due to yours and others valued feedback we have shared lessons learnt across the whole home which has enabled us to enhance the wonderful care we offer to all our residents.

An excellent experience that involved the admission of my Dad and his unexpected death (at the age of 98) 4 days later. The team's response to the sudden change in his health was exceptional; from personalised nursing care to the calling of medical services.
I shall always be grateful for the service

I can not thank the staff enough for all they did for my grandad during his stay. I am grateful that a staff member staff was with him in his last days, she was fantastic and showed such love and care for him.
I want to thank the entire care team but special mention to two members of staff in particular
because they show such care and treat the residents like their own family.

My friend came here for respite care. No remote for TV, when in bed no call button left in reach, no drinks left in reach. No shower or hair wash for eight days, unsuitable food provided as has swallowing issues. Returned home with greasy hair, not showered again. Numerous items of clothing missing.
Place smelly of urine.

Your friend has stayed with us for respite care several times now and no concerns have been raised on any of these occasions other than her next of kin who requested support with meals, and this was dealt with immediately at the time. We have reviewed the care files and have found no cause for concern; all aspects of your friend’s care needs have been met. Additionally, the next of kin, with whom we have spoken, was very happy with the care during the resident’s time with us. Recent catering audits and internal assessments have found the home to be operating to the expected standards with no issues raised. After looking for some time for a nursing home for my friend, I visited Coppice Court. I was shown around by the assistant manager who was extremely professional, kind and helpful.
My friend was lucky enough to be offered a room and has been at Coppice Court for 8 months. I am delighted with the care,
support and complete professionalism shown by all staff.
Despite issues with medication, the staff quickly dealt with the problem to enable a happy relocation. Thank you so much!

As a dedicated health care professional,
Natalie has gained a wealth of experience
in providing care and nursing support to
elderly people, to enrich their lives. She
is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader
who is passionate about delivering the
highest standards in care and quality of
life for Residents.


Having worked at Coppice Court since
2021, Natalie closely shares HC-One’s
vision is aiming to provide the kindest care
for each and every Resident. She extends
this caring approach to her Colleagues
and works closely with them to deliver
care and support Residents in a way
that they gain the most benefit, in a warm
and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about
her role, Natalie remarked: “That every
the day is different, I learn something new and
I can give back to the people who need it
most. This includes supporting our team
in achieving their goals in life”


Natalie has also achieved much
throughout her life, with her proudest
achievements were becoming a mother
and also moving into her role as
Home Manager.


Outside of work, Natalie enjoys spending
time with friends and family. She also
enjoys going on winter city holidays with
her family site seeing. The world is such a
beautiful place.
