The Polegate Care Home

The home, carers and food are very good and there is always a variety of menus.

I am very happy with the care and treatment my Mother has. The food is very good and varied. Staff are pleasant, the care staff all do a sterling job, always pleasant and nothing too much trouble. Feels like a 'home' when you visit.

The staff are very kind and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. There is always something going on for the resident to do. Aunty reports the food is good. So grateful we found this amazing home.

I had lunch with mother last week and was blown away by the delicious food and the fantastic service. All for £2.50. Bargain!!!

On my first visit, I was very surprised that I was able to walk into the care home without anybody approaching me. The entrance doors were unlocked, so in my opinion, security was very poor. The staff seemed very polite and I felt assured that my Mother was in good hands.

It seems like a comfortable environment and the staff were very polite. When we asked for the mattress to be changed the staff were very efficient and it was done within 20 minutes. On one occasion, my husband and I visited on a Thursday evening at 8.20pm and I wasn't very impressed with the security at the reception as the front entrance was open and accessible for anybody to enter as no one was at the desk.

Thankfully this has been resolved.

My sister stayed at The Polegate for a period of respite earlier this year. I have to say we could not have wished for a better home. From the moment we walked through the front door we could tell she would be safe and well cared for. The staff are kind and attentive, the food is outstanding, the home is clean and tidy and everyone has a smile!

I have visited my friend here whilst they had some respite. Great home, staff, and food!! Nearly booked myself a room.

Overall I think this nursing home is very good. One or two early, but inevitable, problems were dealt with immediately. The food is excellent and the staff are always cheerful and helpful.

I am very grateful for the wonderful care my dear mother received while she was at the care home. I am very satisfied with the care she received. I would and have recommended this care home to my friends.

The Polegate is welcoming and friendly from the moment you enter the front door. It is clean and fresh and all the staff I have met (at all levels) are kind, caring and approachable.

It is a lovely homely environment.

I have been here for rehabilitation after fracturing my femur. I have found the staff kind and caring and cheerful, which does help.

The level of care provided within the home is outstanding, from general care and 1 to 1 interaction with my grandmother. I have found occasions when my grandmother has felt stressed and care staff have calmed her down. Simple things like stroking her hair and talking to her. Or, if I found Nan uncomfortable in her bed, the care staff are very responsible in making her comfortable in a safe way and bearing in mind her dignity. Overall, the home is brilliantly run, caring and person-centred. Very impressed.

My mum received excellent care with The Polegate Care Home. The staff were friendly and patient and when it became obvious that end of life care was required they were fantastic.

My mother's care has been good so far although there is a clear lack of staff to help straight away. This worries me as paying residents are not getting the full care they should. Ie mum is never showered, just bed washed and I go in weekly to wash her hair, cut her nails etc.

I never met the physio staff but I am impressed with the staff and nurses I have met. The rooms are amazing and the food looks super. The atmosphere is cheerful and I think that is thanks to the wonderful caring staff. I would definitley recommend it.
