Throughout my stay, I have been given care and attention to the highest possible standard. the nurses and carers here demonstrated warmth, concern, friendship, and interest constantly and I have been enormously impressed by the depth of their concern and dedication. A wonderful group of highly professional
people who clearly see their vocation as being of love, compassion, and tenderness. I will never forget them. Bless them all.
Reply from Paul Burns, Director at Victoria ChatsworthWhat a truly wonderful review and I am so pleased that you felt so happy. Thank you so much for taking the time to give the team this tremendous feedback, they will be very touched. Best wishes.

I liked the atmosphere. The manager was warm and welcoming. I cannot fault the care my husband received while at Chatsworth and I was so relieved to have found a nursing home where I knew he was in good hands. It was an awful time for me and my daughter but the care and compassion shown by all the staff
went a long way towards making the situation bearable.

Over the past year or so there has been massive disruption due to virtually total staff changes. This appears to have settled recently. Whenever I have sought advice it has been given by staff. I note that the last CQC review only gave a 3* rating for food, hopefully, the next review will reflect a
higher rating.
Reply from Paul Burns, Director at Victoria ChatsworthThank you for your feedback and I can only apologise about the staff changes, but you are right, these have now settled. I also feel confident that the new catering team are much improved.

Pleasant staff, lovely room. Temperature can be too hot in the room a bit stuffy. Only patio doors to open which created a wind tunnel. Noise from a neighbouring resident has been an issue.
Overall stay excellent and can't thank the staff enough.
Reply from Paul Burns, Director at Victoria ChatsworthI am pleased that overall you were very happy but clearly, we need to look at the room temperature and I can only apologise if another resident was a little noisy.

During the time that my mother lived at Victoria Chatsworth, the care and attention received from all the carers and nursing staff was fantastic. When she needed palliative care this was excellent, she was treated with gentleness, respect and dignity,
As a family, we all felt well looked after too
and would like to thank the staff for everything they did until she passed away.

My mother stayed at Victoria Chatsworth care home for 9 months. In this time she was looked after with dignity, care and respect. The staff at all times looked after my mother's best interests. They were patient and kind. They tried their best to make my mother's time at the home as much as possible
a place where she could feel at home.
Reply from Paul Burns, Director at Victoria ChatsworthThank you for the lovely comments. This really makes a difference for all of us.
Best wishes.

- Better information about what's going on would be helpful, especially in advance. (Verbally, as I can no longer see to read).
- I like chicken pieces, mashed potatoes and three vegetables to include sprouts and sliced carrot and broccoli. Don't like thin beans or baby carrots
- Otherwise, I like
the room and the view
- Had problems with the mattress not being on the frame, but now fixed and very comfortable
- Especially enjoy the musician coming

Overall my mother has been happy at the home and as she has been there for over 5 years, they obviously know her well. Problem is that now she has dementia, it is difficult to believe what she says about life/everything. She won't join in activities unfortunately and could do with more mental stimulation
- but that is her decision!

Apart from that, the food is good and I believe that the staff treat her well.

My mum was admitted to the Victoria Chatsworth at short notice. She was greeted and reassured by the staff. Every effort was made to encourage her to be social. Her room had a good view over the garden and it was spacious. We were encouraged to bring in personal items - pictures etc to make mum feel
at home. Every effort was made to support mum and me! I will aways be grateful to the Victoria Chatsworth team.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.745)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.745) out of 10 for Victoria Chatsworth is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 42 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 42 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.745 for Victoria Chatsworth is calculated as follows: ( (374 Excellents x 5) + (94 Goods x 4) + (13 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 482 Ratings = 4.745
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Victoria Chatsworth is based on 42 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 22 registered maximum number of service users is 4.4, which has been reached with 42 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
