Mum was placed in Adelaide House for emergency care due to a breakdown in live in care. Although we did not choose this nursing home, we are so happy she was placed there. From the moment we arrived on a December night, they showed so much compassion for our situation. Mum received excellent care while she was there. Mum's health declined, and she passed away. The end-of-life care was wonderful, all staff so kind, so caring, and so respectful.

My brother has been a resident of Adelaide House for more than 21 years. The staff there have all gone above and beyond in their care of him. His room has always been immaculate, as has the rest of the house. The activities put on for the residents have been very varied and well run. I would thoroughly recommend Adelaide House. The staff have all been so caring and very welcoming when I visit.

After much research I opted for Adelaide House and truly cannot recommend them enough. My Aunt has only been there for a couple of months but the care and kindness she has received has been second to none. Nothing is too much trouble and they have a knack of anticipating your needs before you can articulate them yourself, the staff are so friendly, kind and helpful.

My Aunt is 97 and is loving the food, company and activities she can be part of and I am loving the security of knowing she is safe and so well cared for, thank you all.

Adelaide House is absolutely wonderful
My mother, who has mixed dementia, has been here 5 months now. The staff are so kind and caring and take a genuine interest in their residents. Nothing is too much trouble and they prioritise the happiness and contentment of the residents. The care Manager Susan and Deputy Care Manager George are excellent and their ethos and caring leadership is felt warmly in the home. I viewed many homes for my mum, Adelaide Hoise was the second and I knew instantly it was the place for her.
Unfortunately there were no ground floor rooms available at that time, but George liaised with the hospital and social worker and as soon as one became available mum was placed there.

After years of caring and stress I know know my mum is safe and well cared for. Visiting her in Adelaide House feels like visiting a real home from home and the 'Adelaide family'.

My uncle went into Adelaide after a horrible time in hospital, he became too weak to go home so went into Adelaide. Within a few weeks under their care and support he gained some of his strength back. The staff here are absolutely amazing, they treat everyone with dignity and nothing is too much trouble. They honestly made the final 15 months that my uncle had the best possible due to the care and kindness they showed him. The staff really are what makes this place the special home it is. I can't speak highly enough of Adelaide House and would recommend it to anyone looking for care of a loved one

My mother was admitted to Adelaide Nursing Home in July 2025 at the age of 93, after a series of falls and continuous health issues, and it was such a concern for all who cared for her as she wanted to remain in her home. Adelaide Nursing Home were fantastic and my trust in all the staff never faltered and I will always be grateful for that. My mother passed away in September and I was by her side. I will always think of you all with warmth, and gratitude. Thankyou from the bottom of my heart x

My aunt of 97 years was admitted into Adelaide House after the decision was made that she could no longer live independently in her flat following a fall that required surgery. A lovely ground floor room was arranged for her. Her time there was only short as she fell ill very suddenly and was admitted into hospital, where she sadly passed away. Myself and the family were so grateful to all the staff from those that cleaned, did the laundry, prepared the food (which she enjoyed very much) and the nurses. They were all very friendly, kind, attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them and excellent patient care. I was always offered a cup of tea or coffee when I visited and was made to feel very welcome. Whilst my aunt was in hospital they would often ring me not just to find out how my aunt was but to see how I was as well. In my opinion it was a very well run home with professional staff that delivered a high standard of care.

Mum, who is nearly 92, was put on end of life care by the hospital after suffering various infections which were not responding to treatment. For what we thought were her last few days, she was given the option of a nursing home and Adelaide House was chosen. They have made her welcome, comfortable and have attended to her every need. The staff are all welcoming, helpful and very very kind. She has responded well to their care and thoughtfulness. They give little treats like flowers on Mothers Day, little eggs at easter and various meal time specials such as chocolate eclairs and sausage rolls. Nothing is too much trouble and I have total peace of mind.

Our Mum moved to Adelaide House for end of life care after a short spell in Hospital.
She had lived independently all her life so there was some nervousness about this move.
We had absolutely nothing to be concerned about, Mum's final weeks at Adelaide House were happy. She had a string of visitors, made new friends and told my Sister and I she was well looked after and was not worried about anything.
We were so impressed with the staff, they were so caring and kind and Mum was treated with dignity at all times.

We were welcome to visit Mum at any time of the day or night and always greeted with a smile.

My Mum became a resident at Adelaide House in February 2024 following a stroke. She had dementia which worsened and she lost her mobility. I had always been concerned about how Mum would be cared for if she went into a home but any worries I had quickly disappeared. The team have been fantastic in every way: kind, gentle, professional and supportive. Mum passed away peacefully a couple of weeks ago, and she was treated with dignity and love until the end. I am so grateful to the staff team for everything they do and for the support they also gave to me.

My wife was discharged from hospital in June 2024 on palliative care at home with carers visits four times a day, until October, when she went into Adelaide House for two weeks respite care as it was becoming very difficult at home, ,and getting steadily worse. Unfortunately her health continued to deteriorate and it was decided that the best option was for her to remain there permanently on continuing palliative care. Once settled in she was happy and very well looked after by all members of the team from top to bottom, the accommodation, food, facilities, medical care etc were all to a high standard.

There was always a happy, welcoming, supportive and "can do" , attitude from all staff, which we as family saw many times a week on our regular visits.

My father moved to Adelaide House, the day before Christmas Eve, when he could no longer manage in his own home. The staff were extremely welcoming to both him and our family which helped him quickly settle in. He and I went to the Christmas Day lunch and he was fully involved in the celebrations. The care he received from the moment he arrived was exemplary and characterised by respect, dignity and compassion. We were able to visit every day and personally kept fully informed of any treatment and medication that he received. All of the staff treated both him and us with great kindness and although he sadly passed away a month after arriving, at the great age of 102, we felt that he could not have been in a better place than Adelaide House as his life drew to a close.

Adelaide House is run by some of the most caring and kind people you could ever wish to meet. It is kept clean and organised whilst maintaining the feel of a safe and homelike environment. In my grandmother's last few months they took spectacular care of her in every possible way and kept me well informed of any updates over the phone and in person. I always felt very welcome when visiting and grew to consider the staff more as friends, as they are all lovely people. The food provided is varied and delicious, the smell from the kitchen made you wish you were joining for dinner or lunch! Compared to other care homes in the surrounding areas, which I visited, I found that Adelaide house is very reasonably priced, whilst offering a very personal and high quality level of care. Should you be in need of care services for yourself or others, in Haywards Heath or the central Sussex area, I would highly recommend contacting Adelaide house.

I have been so pleased with the care my darling aunty has been receiving at Adelaide House. I could not have looked after her better myself. The staff are so kind and friendly, and they treat residents with sensitivity to their individual needs and with dignity. I live too far away to visit often, so I love the newsletters with pictures of my aunty enjoying activities and outings. It is so nice and reassuring that residents are helped to lead as normal a life as possible, with a summer garden party, Christmas cocktail party and garden centre visits. A big thank you to all the staff who work so hard to help my aunty be comfortable and happy.

I have worked at Adelaide since November 2021 and I love every minute of my job! I've come from mainly an administrative background, but this is my first role within a care home. As soon as I stepped into the home

I sensed what a warm, friendly, caring home it is.

I am the first port of call for all visitors to the home such as relatives, friends, nurses and tradespeople and I keep all the administrative paperwork up to date. The best part about my job is interacting with the lovely residents and seeing them enjoy the wonderful activities we have on offer.
