My mum moved to Adelaide House at the very end of December 2024 after an 8 week stay in hospital. From the moment she arrived, it was clear that this was the right choice for her.
The care and attention she receives from the staff is second to none. They are incredibly professional, compassionate and
attentive.
It's evident that the staff genuinely care about the residents, this gives me such peace of mind knowing that she is comfortable, safe and very well cared for.
When we visit the staff are always very friendly and can't seem to do enough to help, and nothing seems like too much trouble.
I have already recommended Adelaide House to one of my friends to look at for a member of their family.

My aunt was end of life when transferred from the hospital 10 weeks ago so we always knew that her time was limited. The whole team there from management down, ensured that she really felt loved and cared for, so much so that my aunt believed she was residing in her bedroom at her own home.
Words are
not enough to express our gratitude towards the wonderful and amazing team. The nurses work tirelessly with true vocation. We were always made to feel so welcome and in an often dark world, they were a beacon of hope. My aunt was looked after as if she were part of their family. She was cleaned and changed every day and always looked so fresh, happy and comfortable. Nothing was ever too much trouble. When she passed suddenly a few days ago it was calm and peaceful and she was treated with dignity. The staff showed us warmth and compassion. We were so fortunate that my aunts last days were spent in such a lovely place.

When she decided she was no longer able to look after herself in her flat, my Mum chose Adelaide Nursing Home as what she knew would be her final home. That was 15 months ago, and she was in her early 90s.
During her time in Adelaide Mum enjoyed various activities, and visits from entertainers, their
Summer Garden Party was a highlight. Volunteers also brought in various animals including a Shetland pony, which all added interest. Mum had a number of health issues which were either managed solely by the lovely nursing team or by them after consulting with her doctor. Treatment was swift and I was always kept informed. Without exception, all of the staff I came across were very welcoming and happy to help where they could, which was very reassuring for me. When my Mum passed away, the staff informed me straight away and dealt with both my Mum and me with sensitivity.

Mum had been at Adelaide House for nearly three years. I don’t live nearby but felt very confident they would look after her. I can’t fault the care and immediate attention and treatment she received when needed. Mum chose not to take part in downstairs activities as she preferred to stay in her room,
and her wishes were respected, but she loved the visits from the dogs!
The team were so kind, and when Mum passed away, they did everything they could to make things easier for Mum, and me.
Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely care home.

A lovely friendly warm home, all the staff are very caring, attentive and helpful.

I dislike care homes as most are badly managed. Not this one it is absolutely excellent never had any concerns and always contacted us if any changes.
It’s always a very difficult decision but my mum is very well cared for so if you are looking for a home for a loved one highly recommend here.

I'm a volunteer and I come in with my therapy pony. Firstly, it's not every home that can be bothered with this kind of thing but we could not be more welcomed by staff and residents alike! It's so clean with a lovely atmosphere. Might even put my name down for when needed.

My aunt has been a resident for 3 years. She came to the home having had a fall and needing 24hr care. She was admitted to the care home as end-of-life. However, due to the care and love that she has received from the staff she is thriving at 97! During the pandemic, they ensured that the family were
kept updated regularly even though we couldn't visit initially. When restrictions were eased a great amount of provision (setting up a family area for face-to-face visits) which meant a lot to her and the family. We are very pleased with our choice of home and the care it provides. Thank you so much for the care you give my Aunt.

I am a volunteer, and I bring my therapy dog to see the residents for an hour on a weekly basis.
My observations from our visits over the past nine months are that Adelaide House seems a very comfortable and well-run home, where the staff are very caring, friendly and attentive whilst also remaining
respectful to the residents. Generally, the place is run by a lovely group of people.
My dog enjoys his visits to Adelaide House, and if there were any negative vibes, he would pick up on them immediately. His reactions say far more than my words can convey!

My godmother has been a resident of Adelaide House for 5 years now and is very comfortable and contented with her home. The staff are all very caring and kind, both to the residents and their families. Everyone is so very friendly, it is a pleasure to visit. I only wish I had found somewhere as nice

Mum and Dad were admitted to Adelaide House at the height of covid. It was a very difficult decision. Care home staff were having a scary time and coping with residents' anxiety and even more so, relatives' fears, must have been exhausting.
There are many people to thank at Adelaide for the care my
parents have received during the near 2-year stay. I can honestly say that the care home manager has been a shining example of professionalism and care and compassion. She has many lovely nurses and care staff working with her and they have made Mum and Dad safe and well cared for.

We were overwhelmed by the care and kindness of the management and staff at Adelaide House. The care my husband received was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Every effort was made to ensure my husband was happy, he desperately wanted a window seat, a lovely sunny corner was found for him.
He wanted a chair he could lay back in, within minutes of requesting this one was found. He wanted a coffee table to try and do a jigsaw and one was cleared for him. The chef was kindness itself in providing him with a tasty fat-free diet. He was transferred from hospital to Adelaide House to receive end-of-life care. The medical care they gave him for two months has now allowed him to be cared for at home. The care and consideration that was given to me, my family and friends was exceptional. We can never thank them enough for their care and support through this difficult time.

My mother and stepfather both experienced serious deterioration of health conditions during the covid lockdown period. The family struggled to give the 24/7 care their safety required. My sister had some direct experience of care in Adelaide House and the social worker recommended Adelaide. It is also
close to one family member. I have been very happy with the care and support given. The home is warm in all senses, clean, well staffed and once covid allowed, provides some stimulating activity and welcomes visitors. The manager is particularly approachable as are the office staff. I visit frequently and have never experienced unacceptable events. Thank you to all the staff for providing a safe and comfortable environment for my family members.

I am the first port of call for all visitors to the home such as relatives, friends, nurses and tradespeople and I keep all the administrative paperwork up to date. The best part about my job is interacting with the lovely residents and seeing them enjoy the wonderful activities we have on offer.
