I couldn't have been more pleased with the care my father received at Adelaide House Nursing Home. The staff were attentive and kind and always had a cheery interaction and a fist pump with my father. When my father arrived at Adelaide House he was bedbound and non-responsive having been in hospital
for some time. After a few weeks, the staff at Adelaide had him downstairs interacting with other residents and whilst not fully communicating at least making it known what he wanted and was trying to say. When I took my very sick mother there to visit him the staff really helped me with the logistics and practicalities. He was there through very difficult times during Covid but everyone went to great lengths to ensure we could still maintain regular contact.

My mother is now 98 and has dementia. She has been a resident here for over seven years. I think she is still with us due to the excellent nursing and care she has been shown. She has not had to go to the hospital during her years here. Sadly, she is now bedbound.
Her soft food is fed to her. The
food is freshly prepared daily and nutritious.
As a family, we feel comforted that over the years, Mother was offered activities, outings and visiting entertainment. She used to be mobile and was encouraged to walk.
The staff play a huge part in giving a nice feel to the home.

My mother arrived at Adelaide house following a hip replacement operation. She was 95, suffered from dementia, and was in poor health following the operation.
On her arrival, she was not eating or drinking and did not communicate hardly at all.
Following the fantastic care she received at Adelaide,
her physical health improved quickly.
Although her dementia continued to progress, the staff were always kind and attentive. Mum settled in well at the home and seemed much more relaxed and less agitated than she had been when she first arrived.
The home has a friendly atmosphere and is spotless and well-maintained.
All the staff were friendly and professional, and we always felt that Mum was safe and well cared for.

My brother-in-law was only a resident for a short period - for end-of-life care. The manager and her staff could not have been more empathetic and helpful. I live in Yorkshire and was only able to visit every 2/3 weeks. However, I was able to speak to my brother-in-law whenever I telephoned. He had
a very nice room with a French door leading out to the garden. I know that he was happy in that room. He was also happy with the meals that he was served. The only thing that concerned him was understanding the staff when they spoke to him, but the problem was always resolved by asking them to speak a little slower. I would not have any hesitation in recommending Adelaide House.

My aunt was moved from a care home to Adelaide House in September. Sadly, her time here was very short as she died a few weeks later. However, the care she received was second to none. Management and staff excelled in both the care they gave to my aunt and the support to us as a family. I would definitely
recommend this nursing home.
