Mum has been in this home for over two years now, and she absolutely loves it there. It has given her a new lease of life. The staff are always fantastic, friendly, and very caring. The food is great, and the chef takes the time to talk with mum to make sure the food is to her taste. There are two activities a day so there is always something to do. I saw mum recently and as soon as I entered her room, she beamed at me and proclaimed I stroked a donkey, so they even manage to arrange animal visits. For me, I value greatly that mum is loved, happy, and looked after very well. In fact, if I could move into Caer Gwent, I would!! A big thanks to 3 staff members in particular and the whole team.

Mum was nervous and self-conscious when she moved in. She worried about fitting in and about being lost or forgotten. She need not have worried! From day one the staff have been so kind and considerate. In the first few weeks, they walked her to the dining room and back, and to any activities. They continued until she had her bearings and had made friends. Truly discreet in how they did this, so she did not feel foolish or uncomfortable. The activities are well varied and I believe Mum is conversing and thinking more clearly as well as being happy.

We as a family have found Caer Gwent so very welcoming. We are so pleased to be part of the Caer Gwent family. My 93-year-old mother was understandably very anxious about leaving her home of 48 years to move to a care home. Six weeks later, she now regards Caer Gwent as her home and is so much happier, healthier, and carefree. The staff, without exception, are amazing - so friendly and attentive, providing real care throughout the day and night. The home itself is bright, cheerful and very well equipped and has a lovely enclosed garden which my mother's room overlooks. The food is excellent which my mother appreciates as she retains a good appetite, is hearty, healthy, plentiful, and has lots of choices. The activities programme is so, so good, it has genuinely transformed my mother who had become housebound and had little interaction with others, she now revels in the company and variety of things to do - apparently, the time now flies by! I am so pleased with Caer Gwent, I am certain that we could not have done any better anywhere else.

I very much enjoy being here. The staff are very kind, helpful and always with a smile. There is a variety of activities to choose from, I particularly like the keep fit and yoga. The outings have been excellent. The other residents are friendly and very pleasant. The garden is beautiful and I enjoy walking here. There is a nest of seagulls that I am very interested in. All in all, this is a very good place.

I have been treated with the utmost kindness. All the staff approach with a smile. As I am incapacitated I have greatly appreciated the fact that I have been taken out about once a month to visit a garden centre, a farm, and a wildlife reserve. I had a carer pushing the wheelchair for me.

The care and kindness my husband has been shown since moving into Caer Gwent has been outstanding. It is a very happy home with dedicated and friendly staff and carers. His needs are dealt with effortlessly and in a way that makes him feel comfortable and safe. It is a beautiful home with lovely surroundings. When family visit they are also made to feel welcome and encouraged to be part of the family at Caer Gwent. A nurse said to me on our arrival that they are very proud of their home and this is reflected throughout. My husband has settled well and enjoys such varied food. He particularly looks forward to the tea trolley coming round with lovely tea and cake. Thank you to everyone for making your care home a lovely home for my husband.

My Mother has been at Caer Gwent for around 2 years and although in good health she needs the extra care and attention you require when you reach the age of 97.
I can relax knowing the caring staff will provide everything that is needed from day to day, particularly gardening, and the recent addition of facilities for residents to play and look after plants was most welcome. The garden itself is a nice place to be especially with the new patio furniture.
Outside activities such as the recent visit to a nature reserve were well organised and fun.

Importantly the ability to get medical attention quickly (in-house or local surgery) is a real bonus, especially with the current state of the NHS.

From the moment of our first enquiry, the Caer Gwent team have been consistently outstanding in the level of professional care, support and facilities provided. This, coupled with the genuine family atmosphere, has far exceeded our hopes and expectations in what could be provided for my elderly, frail mother who has great mental capacity but a failing body. It truly is a 'home from home' with nothing being overlooked by the cheerful, compassionate, friendly staff who are never rushed or seemingly overstretched. My mother has settled so well and I have nothing but admiration for the way the home is run and it's positive impact on the lives of the residents and their families.

My mother is 88 years old. She has always been fiercely independent. In October last year, she had a fall at home and ended up in hospital for six weeks. We searched for a care home and were very impressed with our initial show round with the care manager at Caer Gwent Care Home.

My mother moved in December. Since then, my mother has really settled down and is enjoying her life at the care home. The staff have really worked hard to help her. My mother is treated with the utmost dignity and the staff really show that they care. I couldn't be happier knowing that my mum is happy and very well looked after. Thank you.

I now have peace of mind that since my mother has been at Caer Gwent Care Home she is receiving the utmost professional care from staff and management as a whole. If needed, the nursing staff are there 24/7 and any health concerns are dealt with quickly and with a caring attitude. The management is always ready to listen and is aware of my mother's needs which can be complex. My mother says she is very happy at Caer Gwent which speaks volumes.

In the time my dad has been with Cear Gwent they have been outstanding with their care and understanding of him. They have also supported me to navigate the transition from being my dad's carer to being a son again. They are a family and make you part of that family. Their warmth, professionalism and their willingness to go above and beyond is exceptional.
Senior leadership are incredibly approachable. You are listened to and their guidance and clarity reassures me that my dad is in safe hands. The staff across all parts of the home do the most incredible job. I have nothing but respect and admiration for what they do. Quite incredible. My dad is at end of life and can be challenging, yet they are calm and deal with every situation with respect, a smile and a can-do attitude.
Caer Gwent is a beautiful home. From the cleanliness to the quality of the meals.

I know my dad is being cared for and is safe. Thank you all.

My mum has been a resident of Caer Gwent for some time - the care she receives from the wonderful team is above and beyond. They have infinite patience and capacity for empathy. There is always a warm welcome from all staff for visiting family and the surroundings are beautifully decorated, calm and peaceful, an oasis in a busy world. My mum has been loved and cherished and receives the most amazing care and kindness every day, always taking into account her changing needs so thoughtfully. For any relatives with loved ones needing a well-managed, real 'home from home' I can wholeheartedly recommend Caer Gwent.

Mum went into the home for respite but ended up staying. She has a lovely room, which we are slowly making hers with photos, plants and nick-nacks from home. She has settled really well and all the staff are really lovely to her and us. For an independent lady who never wanted to leave home, she now refers to Caer Gwent as her home.

My mum has been a resident of Caer Gwent Care Home for over seven months now and she is receiving genuine and compassionate care. She has not been too well for the majority of her stay but throughout the staff have been so patient and caring. They really go the extra mile and nothing is too much trouble. They have adapted well to her changing needs and are extremely attentive and considerate. Mum is clearly very happy in the home and loves the warm and friendly atmosphere. She particularly enjoys the many activities and is very fond of several members of the staff. Everyone seems to know her name and she just seems like one of the family. It's a pleasure to visit her and see how well she is being cared for. Thank you!

My dad has settled so quickly and so well at Caer Gwent Care Home with the excellent care provided, the staff have been brilliant. He is very much enjoying the meals, finding them very good, for example, he recently opted to have an omelette which was one of the best he had ever had. In addition, he has made friends. Mum has received excellent care and attention since moving to Caer Gwent at the beginning of September. They really welcomed her into their family. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to assist Mum with her every need. The food is varied, appetizing and well-balanced and the staff always ensure Mum has had plenty to eat. There are daily activities which are very well coordinated and Mum enjoys taking part regularly. I feel completely at ease now when I leave Mum after a visit, knowing that she is in good hands.
