Drumconner Homes Lancing

Whilst care is generally good, the staff seem happy (mostly), it is the little things, such as attention to detail that are truly lacking eg when it was Mum's 95th birthday she did not even get acknowledged by the home with a card (Since filling in the form, one was provided later, after the actual day). Also, emails are very rarely answered. Several times we found Mum staring at a blank television screen (batteries needed replacing in the remote control! We provided new batteries). Value for money? No! Another issue is that if we buy her plants/flowers, the plants never get watered and the flowers never get the water in the vase topped up, so both generally die very quickly because of the heat in the room, therefore mum does not get to enjoy them for long.

I organized to have my Grandmother stay with Drumconner Homes Lancing during her final days. I am very happy and content that my Grandmother was happy and relaxed in Drumconner, she frequently mentioned how comfortable she was and how lovely all the staff are. I would absolutely recommend Drumconner Home to anyone looking for care.

My gran was staying at Drumconner Homes for a while after she had a fall at home. We chose this home as they have a great nursing team and they provide complementary physiotherapy. All the staff were so lovely at Drumconner and we are so happy the physio has enabled my gran to get back on her feet and return home. The food was of a very high quality and they would always consider grans likes and dislikes. The rooms are also very large and have modern bathrooms and the latest equipment, I would highly recommend Drumconner to any family looking for a lovely nursing home in West Sussex.

Mum's general care was excellent. Her specific medical care, also excellent. She was handled with kindness, respect and dignity at all times. She passed away peacefully and we feel she is at peace now. We thank everyone who cared for her and the kind reception staff too. Thank you.

All of the staff at Drumconner nursing home in Lancing were wonderful. They could not have been more caring or kind in the way they looked after my mother during her year-long stay with them. Because of covid, they were working under the most difficult and almost impossible of circumstances. But that never stopped them from giving first-class care in every respect to my mother during the time she was with them. All of the staff were always so kind and considerate both to my mother and to my husband and myself. Considering the pressures they were all under they always responded to our questions and did their very best to make my mother as comfortable as she possibly could be in the circumstances. We feel so lucky that we chose Drumconner when the unexpected need for my mother to have nursing care and support arose. We would have no reservations in recommending Drumconner to others who may be searching for a nursing home for their loved one.

I am a temporary resident (due to a fall). I have been at Drumconner for eight weeks so far. All the staff - night or day staff, housekeeping, laundry, kitchen, activities organiser, reception, gardening staff, maintenance and anyone I may have left out - everyone has treated me with kind, respect, dignity - we always manage a laugh.

Really happy with how they're looking after my grandmother, especially as she needs extra care which the staff are able to provide. Speaking of staff, they're lovely and very knowledgeable which is enormously reassuring. Gran loves it there, she's always singing its praises (she jokes that if she had known the food was going to be that good she'd have moved in long ago!). They have a lot of activities too, which is so important, and as for facilities, all very modern and the place is spotless. With everything going on right now, it's such a relief that Gran is getting the best care that she can. Thank you!

They take fantastic care of my grandmother. Lovely facilities, nice and clean with great caring staff. Excellent environment for her with regular activities. It’s nice knowing she’s in a good place and well looked after.

My friend spent 6 weeks at Drumconner as a respite resident following a fall and a hip fracture at home. She has not stopped talking about it since! It was, in her words, the most amazing place with wonderful, friendly staff, who could not have been more helpful. The facilities were excellent, she had a large room with a walk-in shower and incredible sea views, staff and management did everything in their power to keep people safe and happy. Although I could not visit, staff were always at hand to help with Skype calls. She had regular 3 weekly physio sessions by their own in-house physio and joined in many imaginative and interesting activities.

My mother spent her last 8 months in Drumconner before she died and they looked after her fantastically. The staff were exemplary, the catering was delicious and the accommodation was spot on! The welcome was always warm, we were encouraged to join Mum for Sunday lunch and even Christmas dinner too. I felt very confident she received the very best care and I would heartily recommend Drumconner.

Very kind and compassionate care staff, I highly recommended. Very efficient and also luxurious care home. The food is lovely, people are treated with dignity. Efficient management. Also, I felt very safe during Covid as all staff have been respecting all rules regarding PPE.

My Mum fell in January and fractured her hip and came here for respite following surgery. During her time here she flourished physically and mentally. She benefited massively from the in house physio and thrived on the company. Every time I came to visit she was usually in the lounge joining in with the activities which were varied and even if she didn’t want to join in she would comfortably sit and watch. She ate well and enjoyed the food very much which bearing in mind she trained many years ago in cookery and was an excellent cook and baker was high praise indeed. When she was ready for discharge she said if it hadn’t been for her dog she would have stayed and sadly having now lost her dog and becoming increasingly isolated in her flat she has chosen to return and live full time at Drumconner.

During my grandparents stay at the home, they were given outstanding care. They were always telling me how amazing the service was and how friendly the staff were. The home is in a lovely location and the staff will go above and beyond to help you, no matter your needs. Highly recommend.

The staff made my mother-in-law welcome and comfortable with very short notice. Unfortunately, her stay was short due to very ill health but within that time the accommodation and staff were outstanding. Always happy to welcome us when we visited and happy to update us over the phone. I would recommend without hesitation to anyone needing a care home for themselves or their loved ones.

The staff at Drumconner have been fantastic from the initial inquiry to the care my mum receives. It has been an extremely difficult time as we couldn’t view the home in person due to Covid. They proactively set up a zoom meeting and sent us videos of the rooms (and gave us a choice). My mum says if she can’t be home she knows she is in the best place. She is happy, loves the food, says the staff are all very nice and friendly and often helps her to FaceTime us to ensure contact is kept up. We have been really impressed so can only imagine how good it is in normal circumstances. Very grateful to Drumconner for making a very difficult time slightly easier and putting my mind at rest that my mum is receiving fantastic care.

I cannot praise and thank all the staff for how they have dealt with and cared for everyone throughout Covid-19. I can honestly say that I cannot recommend Drumconner enough and thank them from the bottom of my heart for looking after my mother.

During a very challenging time of COVID-19 and the passing of my beautiful Dad, I have nothing but respect for the whole team of Drumconner, who understood how difficult it was to not be able to see him. Dad was very happy at the home and was surrounded by smiles. This is a caring nursing home and I treasure the support that my Dad was shown.

My granny was in the home for a short period. Her death was unexpected and came sooner than we thought. The care staff were brilliant, they treated my granny with respect and dignity. The management, one member in particular, have been wonderful with the admittance and support with the financial side. Residents are lovely and there is a lovely atmosphere. Would 1,000,000% recommend.

I found this care home to be excellent in every way. All of the staff treated my friend with kindness, care and dignity during her brief stay.
