My primary concern is the limitation of the kitchen menus, etc.
Care delivered in highly competent, professional and caring manner.
Great respect shown for residents needs and preferences. Very much a family feeling. Unusually high visibility of management is a plus. Meal offerings could be more varied. Nursing care is A+++ - personal and professional.

My wife went into Drumconner on 2nd July for 3 weeks for post-operational care. She was treated with love and care from the staff and management, with excellent food, drinks and medication all given in such a kind and caring way. We used their lovely garden with her wheelchair afternoons and evenings and she responded so well with all the excellent treatment. Would thoroughly recommend this caring establishment.
All the staff are kind and caring. My mother had the best welcome. Despite the current building works residents needs are always put first.
All staff are friendly and considerate. All care is met and delivered with dignity. My grandmother is extremely happy here and appreciates the care, staff always willing to have a chat. Nurses are great with all dressings and very careful with her delicate skin.
From the very first day we visited Drumconner with a view to place our mother in their care, we were impressed by the friendliness and warmth of the staff, the cleanliness and facilities available. During the fifteen months our mother was in the care of Drumconner (Lancing), we were extremely content that she was receiving the most loving and first-class care.
Good range of activities. Gym twice a week. Regular weekly groups for residents to have informal chats on various subjects arranged by reception staff.
All visitors to residents welcomed any time of the day.
Dad went into the home from hospital in a very poor condition. He made a fantastic improvement by very caring staff and great support in his final year.
A well run independent nursing home with excellent staff and facilities, which I am happy to recommend.
My wife has now been resident for more than a year. I am delighted with the care she has received at Drumconner. All of the staff are friendly, caring and concerned for her condition, and she receives tender personal care from all of them. The food is tasty (vegetarian or fish), well cooked and well presented, and the carers usually help my wife with her meals. She enjoys the beautiful garden outside her room and is often able to attend the many activities and entertainments.
From first speaking to the receptionist to meeting the matron Drumconner has been nothing but kind, helpful and professional. We had been in a very difficult situation and Drumconner made everything better. You could not have looked for more help and kindness.
Her room was large with space for her own bits and pieces - a fact that was much appreciated.
It's friendly. Very clean and hygienic.
It's well managed. 2 options on the lunch menu, maybe more vegetarian options. Deserts are very good. They make the best soups!
Every meal could be later.
Last had a drink at 8-8.30 pm.
Our mum enjoyed being in Drumconner so very much, all the staff were kind and very caring to her.
Drumconner is such a special home and we would like to take her there again and we know she would like to go back, if possible over Christmas if there is a room available for her.
Thank you so very much to you all.
This is a very good nursing home specialising in the care of frail people at the end of their life, although some are younger - the house has been attractively decorated with a lot of thought but manages to look homely as well. My husband arrived here from hospital on 27th June 2017 with vascular dementia and many other problems. He is unable to walk, feed himself and incontinent. I see him every day - the staff treat him with skill, kindness and patience. Many are young and have to face distressing situations as well as the matron, her assistant and the staff in general, all must be praised. I would be distraught if my husband had to move.
Allowed to visit at all times, contacted immediately if any problems, polite and efficient service.
Often a very long wait before a call bell is answered - up to 25 minutes. My opinion is that the home is understaffed. Also, too much paperwork necessary which prohibits nurses nursing, because not enough time.
Even with the major extension works being carried out lots of disruption in most areas the staff are fantastic at all times. My dad couldn't be treated any better I know he is safe and well looked after what more can you want.
I have found all the staff extremely caring and helpful.
Really well looked after by nursing staff. The kitchen staff were very helpful and met my needs with good grace.
