Eastridge Manor Dementia Nursing Home

My grandparents have been staying at Eastridge Manor for a few months now. They were both very reluctant to move to a nursing home but I can honestly say that they are both really settled now. The team are always very helpful and I am always kept informed on how they are. My grandfather does not have dementia and he is there as he does not want to be separated from his wife. The staff engage with him as he finds it hard to communicate with other residents due to their illness. I would recommend the home to others and a big shout out to the team who remain professional throughout challenging situations.

Our mother was a resident in Eastridge Manor for eight weeks for respite care. The home is in a beautiful and peaceful country setting, with extensive gardens and a large pond. Without exception, the management and staff at all levels were absolutely fantastic; kind, attentive and loving. The level of care was absolutely superb and Mum was physically and mentally in a lot, lot better of a state after her respite. Many, many thanks from the family for all your great work.

Very disappointed with the judgemental way my partner was treated after an incident. We had high expectations of the Home but sadly were disappointed. It quotes on the website that "Our Understanding of dementia nursing and providing exceptional care means we achieve a standard of excellence in all aspects of the service." Sadly this was not our experience. A nice building and grounds with kind staff, but as soon as needs became challenging, he was forced to leave with 2 weeks' notice with no willingness to follow the suggestions of the consultant, which could have enabled a route forward to care in situ, or at least more clarity that there was an ongoing issue, and how to manage it, or even a timescale that would have allowed us to find another reasonable option. This sudden move from a Home he loved caused a lot of distress & his dementia has worsened alongside it. I worked as a social worker for over 20 years and I could not recommend a home with this ethos and approach.

Without the amazing staff at Eastridge Manor from the cleaners to management I don't think my mum would still be there. They went above and beyond for our mum as well as us, they are the most caring loving kind people. As a family we couldn't be happier that our mum is at Eastridge loved and cared for daily.

My mother has been at Eastridge Manor for ten years. She is now 100 years old, which I'm sure she would not have achieved without the care she has received there.

We looked at many homes before deciding on Eastridge Manor. As soon as we walked through the door and met the staff we knew it was the perfect home for my relative. He settled in very quickly and called it home. Thanks to everyone at Eastridge Manor who made a difficult decision much easier to cope with. We could not have chosen a better home for our relative.

Dad was a resident at Eastridge Manor for nearly 10 years until his death in October 2021. Everyone, from the management team to the nurses and carers, the laundry and kitchen staff, the cleaners, and the maintenance team were just brilliant. We couldn't have chosen a better home for Dad. From the very start of Dad's stay at Eastridge, it was clear to us that they cared for him as an individual. The staff got to know him and as a result, gave him so much more than just somewhere to stay. He had a home and was wonderfully cared for with dignity and compassion. I highly recommend Eastridge Manor.

Our whole family are very appreciative of the high quality of care and support which Mum receives at Eastridge (since 2020). The extremely efficient management of the home - plus the group into which Eastridge fits - but above all, the high quality of nursing are a shining example of what every family hopes for and what gives comfort to a resident in these unusually demanding times.

I am very pleased with how my mother has settled at Eastridge. The staff are very caring and professional. It has been very difficult during the pandemic but I am very pleased with how the staff have dealt with everything during these difficult times.

My mother suffered from dementia from 91 and she was cared for by Eastridge Manor until her death aged 96 five years later. I visited her frequently up to the last 18 months when Covid intervened and I had to shield myself. Moving one's mother into care is a big step but I never once regretted the move to Eastridge Manor. They were so kind and looked after her so well right up to the end. The staff there are lovely and it is always well staffed. I cannot fault the care she received and it was such a comfort during the Covid lockdowns to know she was being so well cared for and with such affection. It is a lovely place and my memories of my mother's last years are very happy ones. A huge thank you to all the staff there.

Nothing is too much trouble for Dad; he feels very much at home there and the staff really make him feel included, tailoring their approach to his needs and personality. When dealing with me, family members and friends, they are always completely caring, understanding and helpful. It’s a huge weight off my mind knowing that Dad is cared for, receives attention and is occupied, which is something I’d struggle to do myself.

My mother spent four and a half years at Eastridge Manor and the standard of care she received was exemplary throughout her whole time there. Their particular strength is the quality of staff - professional, compassionate, infinitely patient and caring. We looked at a number of other homes and the initial selection was based on what we perceived as the quality of the management, the setting and also some recommendations from friends who had parents there. What you come to appreciate over time is that the care your parent receives is almost entirely a function of the staff who work there which is hard to gauge on an initial visit. This is where Eastridge excels and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering residential care for a loved one.

My father has recently moved to Eastridge Manor. I am very happy with the 'person-centred' care and attention he receives there. Staff are kind and helpful, treating residents in a dignified manner. The home and grounds are attractive and welcoming - a real home from home.

On a recent visit, I was most impressed with the staff's attentive care for all the residents, not just my mum. They seem to know just what each individual resident likes and needs and tailor their care accordingly. The environment is always clean and to a high standard and the residents are encouraged to be engaged and genuinely care for. I am so happy that my mum is one of these fortunate residents.

All staff here are caring and considerate of the residents. They are all polite and chatty when I visit. The home looks clean and inviting and has a happy atmosphere. The food looks and smells delicious. If anything happens ie a fall or similar, which is not often, I am informed straight away.

Very clean and tidy home. The staff are pleasant and always ready to please.

My mother has been a resident at Eastridge Manor for 7 months and she has settled into life at the home well. Caring for elderly patients, many of whom suffer from dementia, is difficult and the general standard of care has, in this context, been good. My mother is safe, secure and looked after by staff who do seem to care for the residents. There are areas of potential improvement ie not sending residents unaccompanied to hospital if emergency care is required.

Everyone is so caring and kind towards residents and relatives. We cannot fault the high level of care our relative has received since arriving in January.

The staff have been approachable and helpful. The Manager has been happy to listen to any questions and quick to ensure queries are answered and where appropriate, fully explained. However, some laundry, although named tagged, seems to go 'on holiday' as some skirts have taken up to 2 weeks to be returned. Overall, the care of my aunt has been very good.
