White Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
The first time we walked into a light ,bright, clean White Lodge we were met with a friendly smile and lovely smell of the dinner cooking,
After a tour of the rooms we decided this was the place we wanted our elderley mother to be looked after. The staff soon became friends and it was so reasuring to
know that Mums care was second to none, keeping the family up to date with various medical issues that Mum had.
When she was in good health Mum was pleased to go down to the lounge to enjoy the many activities organised daily. We also remember all the colourful Summer garden parties, Christmas and raffles and the entertaining guest singers who were often brought into the home. Music and sing a longs was a real tonic for residents staff and visitors.
The whole family cannot fault White Lodge and we will be eternally grateful to you all.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My brother's stay was sadly quite short (for palliative care) but the standard of care and support was excellent throughout. Every member of staff I was in contact with impressed with their professionalism and kindness. This is clearly a well-run home with the individualised care of its residents at
its heart. The atmosphere and environment is comfortable, smart and relaxing - but the home is equipped with high-grade equipment and procedures. (Even when there was a change of shift, it was clear there was always a smooth and proper handover.) We have no criticisms, only praise to offer - and will be forever grateful that our brother was so well cared for at the end of his life.

My mum has been a resident at Berkeley Lodge for just over 2 years now, she is so happy and settled here it truly does feel like a family home. Mum has always been treated with the upmost dignity, respect and kindness by all the staff, who are all so very friendly, approachable and supportive to myself
and my family as well. It is so reassuring to that know my mum is receiving such wonderful care and support.

My mum settled in really quickly with the help of a wonderful care team. She was encouraged to participate in the daily activities which she really enjoys. There is always something going on, but you can choose to join in, rest or do your own thing. The care she receives is excellent. It is a relief
for me to know that my mum is safe, well and happy.

Mum was very anxious about having to go for respite care in a residential home while we had a holiday, but the staff helped her to settle in pretty quickly. We were grateful for everyone's kindness and attention to detail, and their quick response to rectify small problems. Mum's room was lovely, and
she reported that the food was very good. Whenever we visited we witnessed a very caring environment, with attentive staff, and happy residents.

I have been visiting almost a year now and found the staff very kind and friendly. Allways given refreshments and biscuits. I allways join in the activities with the residents which they like. I leave at Lunchtime so am able to see the food which is varied and nourishing and is when the medication is
also handed out and the person is not to be disturbed while this is carried out. A very well run home.

I highly recommend Pentlands Nursing Home. All the staff, whatever their role, are kind, caring and very good at what they do. They clearly care about the residents and their families. My mum was made to feel very welcome and at home from the minute she arrived. There are lots of activities for residents
and their visitors join in with, and the food is delicious. It gives me great peace of mind to know that my mum is being so well cared for in such a homely environment.

Mum moved into Pentlands about 7 weeks ago.
After being so independent and active just a few months ago, it was a massive change to suddenly need 24 hour care, 7 days a week.
The nurses, carers, kitchen staff, cleaners and all the other staff have made it a smooth a transition as possible. They are
all so kind, helpful and caring. Mum and I love to see all their smiling faces as they go about their caring work.
Mum never feels rushed with their care towards her, and loves that they take time to chat and help to make her laugh in such a difficult personal time.
All the staff seem to go above and beyond for the people they look after.
The food is great, mum hasn't had one meal she has not eaten!
They offer fun activities in the lounge for those who like some company and things to do.
We would thoroughly recommend Pentlands for anyone looking for a nursing home that goes that bit extra for their loved one!

I couldn't be happier with the choice we made for mum. Emma and Lou have been brilliant and so supportive with mum's move, they have helped make what could have been a very stressful situation so easy, and both mum and I feel very supported. I can't thank them enough. Mum is being so well looked after
in lovely surroundings with genuinely lovely people.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Aunt sadly passed away this month, after a stay of some 17 months at Pentlands. When she arrived, the family had been advised that she probably had 3 months life expectancy as a result of stage 4 cancer. As a result, she was in for full medical care. Some 17 months later, she decided that it was
her time. The management and staff, we believe, provided the care, support and compassion that made the last year and a half possible. Her quality of life was enhanced by those at Pentlands, and it was clear that not only had she grown incredibly fond of them, it genuinely felt that it was reciprocated.
All staff demonstrated a level of understanding, not just of her care needs, but of her as an individual, which speaks volumes, and un until the last few weeks, our Aunt had been happy and content, which is only down to the care and attention provided.
The management at Pentlands have been amazing, always available to talk, help and give guidance and advise when needed. Thank you.

My wife is a resident needing 24 hour nursing care since July 23. She has her own room, which is kept very clean at all times. The care staff are very professional, carrying out their duties with empathy and humour. The nurses are the same and the domestic workers are also like this. The facilities
are first class and well maintained. Activities and entertainment are provided on most days and are very good. Visitors are always made welcome and encouraged to visit. Myself and our family have every confidence in the excellent, warm care provided. This is a safe home for my wife, with great care given 24 hours a day.

Pentlands provides excellent care in a very friendly, comfortable, and supportive environment.
In fact, I would describe it as a true home from home, and relatives are considered as much as residents. Very good activities are arranged on a daily basis with some quality entertainment included. The
food provided is of top quality and well presented.

Mum moved into Pentlands at the start of December. Despite some apprehension at having to move into a nursing home the staff have made her feel at home. Nothing is too much trouble for the care/nursing staff. The food has been excellent especially over the Xmas period. They put on great activities including
a number of terrific singers which residents and guests are encouraged to join in with. They even sorted the funded nursing care benefit to help with the costs. Relatives and friends are able to visit as often as they like and are made to feel very welcome too. The maintenance staff even hung up some bunting and offered to put up extra shelving. We would definitely recommend Pentlands to anyone looking for nursing care for themselves or a loved one

My husband has been at Berkeley Lodge (BL) for 14 months now. I with my son and daughter looked at several homes in the Worthing area. Now, after all these months I can truly say we hit the jackpot when we found BL. All the staff without exception are helpful, considerate and respectful. Due to the
nature of the illness my husband has deteriorated and he now spends a lot of time in bed. The carers are thoughtful and kind keeping him safe, comfortable and listened to. It is a difficult and emotional decision having to place a loved one in a residential home, The staff at BL are always on hand to answer any queries/worries I might have. Although our lives have changed because of this dreadful illness I feel reassured knowing that my husband is in environment that really considers the needs of their residents and ensuring they receive the best possible care.
