Having to make the decision for a loved one to go to a nursing home has to be one of the hardest things to do. However, I knew when I found the right place, my dad would be better looked after & safe! We found Eastridge Manor and knew immediately!
It took a little while for Dad to settle, but all
the staff were so kind and patient. He is now very happy and loves his room and the beautiful view, surrounded by wonderful staff!

White Lodge

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My 95 year old father came to White Lodge initially for respite care after a spell in hospital. He then stayed as we felt it the best place for him rather than coming home. The care he received was outstanding. Nothing was too much effort and he was treated with dignity and patience and understanding.
Every single member of staff were so kind, both to him and to anyone who visited.

White Lodge is like a home from home. It has a lovely welcoming atmosphere and as far as I could see, all the residents seemed very happy and settled. The food and choice of food is varied and delicious and if there was nothing on the menu my dad fancied he could ask for something different (usually ice cream)! There are daily activities which the residents can choose to take part in or not. They can be as sociable or as private as they wish and their choices are respected. I would recommend White Lodge to anyone who is looking for a friendly, caring, safe place for their loved one.

Eastridge Manor with it's team of amazing staff and excellent manager continue to provide an outstanding level of care and support for my 97 year old Aunt with advanced dementia. When i visit i always find her well presented and often in the lounge amongst company which i know she enjoys.
The setting
in beautiful grounds all adds to the sense of calm.
My mother, elder sister to my aunt was at Eastridge too and the sisters time crossed over for a short period until my mother calmy passed at 96 years. This care home has got to be one of the best.

We were devastated to come to the realisation that our mum couldn't continue to live at home due to advancing dementia. We were recommended Blatchington Manor by a friend whose mum was also there, and from the first difficult and tearful visit the staff have been amazing. Better than many hotels I have
stayed in we couldn't be more pleased with the care, cleanliness, attitude and running of the home. Mum has settled well and enjoys living there - not just because the food is great but also as there is plenty going on, regular activities and friendly staff. The staff deserve high praise - they are professional, fun, kind and attentive and bend over backwards to accommodate mums needs . Mums room is really clean and spacious and they have been supportive of personalisation and additions. Having looked at many other places I really think this is one of the best. We are so relieved to know she is in good hands.

Rookwood has been an amazing care home looking after both of my parents. When my father's needs became so he was unable to manage at home anymore I didn't hesitate to return to Rookwood where my mum had been cared for. The staff are wonderful - attention and caring, the home is cosy and clean. The food
outstanding and the leadership faultless.

Fernbank Residential Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
In Fernbank for two weeks respite care. My wife and I had been shown around the premises prior to our arrival. The staff we met then were friendly and happy to explain how things worked, even before a booking was made. They said they would phone us if a room became available on the dates required-
and they did. A good start.
I had never resided in a care home before so felt quite apprehensive and nervous but it was obvious staff were familiar with this sentiment. From that moment and for the rest of my stay all staff were friendly and helpful whenever they saw me looking lost as I came to terms with a new way of life.
My room was simply furnished with wet room, WiFi, TV and sufficient storage space. I found the bed comfortable but hard to get out of quickly because of the wooden edges (hospital bed). If I'd been staying longer I would have asked to change.
I was impressed with the food. Regular meals, but flexible enough if you were out. And tea and coffee offered frequently.

I cannot recommend Rookwood highly enough. The team responded very quickly to an emergency, where my mother had had a painful fall and needed round-the-clock care. My partner and I were heading away on holiday. Rookwood saved the day for us. Their care, professionalism, promptness and communication
were 5-star. My mum looked so well and rested on her return home 18 days later. We were helped and guided through a very difficult phase and were able to go away knowing all was well.

Our aunt has resided at Fernbank for over 3 years and is very happy here and can highly recommend! Fernbank really is a 'home from home' and doesn't feel like a 'care home' at all, more like a 5-star hotel, along with the dedicated team who work there and who go above and beyond in providing a caring,
friendly, nurturing approach for all. I could write a long list of all the amazing features about the home, but a previous comment on here (1st July) sums it all up. All I can add is just go and look for yourself, and I promise, you won't be disappointed.

Our overall impression is of a very well run and caring nursing home.
We regularly visit however these visits are becoming increasingly short due to our mother's condition.
Our mother is unable to communicate so we do not have a complete picture of her care currently but historically it has been
very good.

My mother has been here since March 2025. She started in respite, but then decided to stay. The staff are genuinely really kind, caring and obviously efficient. Feels like a family environment. Very helpful and responsive to any requirements or questions. The food is great. Varied with daily choices,
special requests etc, well presented, healthy, appetising. Lovely communal dining room, or clients can eat in their own room if they want.

There is a choice of communal areas, some quiet, some busier. Plus an outside courtyard and garden. Rooms are good. We were given a tour and a choice of rooms available. It's very close to Worthing Town centre, so easy for trips out. This really is a good safe place with caring staff. Highly recommend. We took a tour of several care homes before concluding this was the best place to try initially for respite care, now long-term care. We are all happy with our choice.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother in law resided in Pentlands from November 2021 as she required nursing care. From the start she was happy in her new home, loving her spacious, spotlessly clean, light room. However, it was the brilliant, attentive, supportive care she received that helped her settle so quickly making her
feel safe and secure in her new situation and surroundings. She came to regard all the amazing staff, in all roles, as her extended family. They took the time to know her and what she enjoyed, whether it was a treat of delicious cake at a local coffee shop or in her room, a competitive game of Scrabble or a good natter. All this on top of providing her with the daily care she needed. Her final years were spent in great comfort and were as full as possible. We will always be grateful to the whole team lead by their excellent manager who was always so professional and compassionate.

My father was a resident at Berkeley Lodge for just over 2 years. My mother and I visitied him regularly and we were privileged to see the kindness and patience of the staff who looked after him. They really took the trouble to get to know him and he was treated with dignity and good humour. Our family
very much appreciate the way he was looked after and the way we were made to feel like part of the family. It was lovely to witness and sometimes join in with the activities organised for the residents. Communication and information sharing was excellent, as was the delcious food and refreshments. I particularly appreciate the thoughtful way the team looked after me during the last few weeks of my father's life. My heartfelt thanks to everyone.

Mum spent almost 2 years in the care of the wonderful staff at Berkeley Lodge. I don't use the word care lightly because I always witnessed exceptionally attentive care whenever I visited my mum. Management were responsive and punctual when contacted and I always felt they had my mum's best interests
at heart and even though she had advanced dementia she was always treated as a human being with her own feelings and opinions. Even when my mum passed away recently they made us feel that she was part of a family and would be genuinely missed and we thank them for that. Thank you to all at Berkeley and I'll be booking in my own space soon :)
