Natalie Graham, who is a presenter of BBC South East's "South East Today" and local Seaford resident, kindly opened Blatchington Manor in March 2018.

The décor is fresh, each lounge carefully designed with a different theme, all tastefully furnished. The gardens landscaped to give safe walkways and raised beds, water features, bus stop, letterbox and a large conservatory with a sheltered walkway.
Care - Second to none! The standard of care is excellent. Care staff are highly trained in dementia and fully understand their client's needs. all the staff have all been supportive of me when I have been feeling low regarding my sister's condition, even phoning me back! They always involve me and keep me updated.
Hygiene - The cleaning staff keep the home spotless. The carers wear aprons when assisting at meal times and uniforms are always clean and smart looking.
Diet – Freshly cooked food and a selection of choices by the qualified chef – excellent!
Activities - The home has 2 excellent activities co-ordinators and a spacious activities room,
I would highly recommend this care home; they have raised the bar in care facilities.

My mother has been living at Blatchington Manor since it opened. I can not recommend it enough. The staff, from the manager and deputy manager downwards are so friendly and caring. We always get a warm welcome when we arrive, whatever day or time we turn up. My mother is well looked after and has even started putting on some weight as the food is "really good", high praise from her. She is kept busy with activities every day and the staff have taken time to get to know Mum and what her interests and previous life was like so they can tailor activities to suit her.

Langton Mavuka

Job Title: Executive Chef

Joined: 2012


Mr Mavuka joined the SCNH group in 2012 to become our company Executive Chef.
He has brought the standards and quality of food to an outstanding level.
He prepares all the menus for the homes utilising the seasonal vegetables and ensuring his high standards are adopted by all our Cooks and chefs.
We use Rational steam ovens to make sure that meat and vegetables are cooked fresh to the perfect tenderness.

In the chef's own words
My name is Langton Mavuka and I am the group executive chef in Southcoast nursing homes. I have enjoyed every minute of my work here. Working with fresh produce is both rewarding and interesting and helps me create seasonal menus which our residents enjoy very much. I also work with a very professional team that is both friendly and willing to support me in the day to day running of the kitchen.
At the heart of our meals are fresh, seasonal ingredients that are bursting with flavour. Our food is cooked to the highest standard and we take great care to cater to the dietary requirements of everyone living here at the home. Residents may even discover a new favourite food or enjoy an old favourite prepared in a new and exciting way.
