Since my mother moved into Blatchington Manor, the care has been second to none. The staff are very caring and empathetic towards the residents and family. Very communicative, keeping you updated with all arising issues and always answering any questions. A big thank you for the love and support you
show my mother.

My wife has been a resident at Blatchington Manor for 18-months and settled in very well. We were very apprehensive about how things would turn out, but we struck lucky with Blatching Manor. The care, warmth, professionalism and treatment to both residents and relatives are first class. At no time is
there any sense of being just a customer or a number, every member of staff is kind and helpful. It is obviously a well-run company from the top-down and gives the impression of caring for residents as well as a profit.

Mum moved to Blatchington Manor almost two years ago after several years struggling at home while living with dementia. I looked at many care homes but when I walked into the Manor I knew immediately it was the place for Mum. The warmth, friendliness and caring environment is tangible. It doesn’t feel
like a home, more like a hotel.
The staff are truly wonderful - I haven’t met a single one that is anything but a true carer - happy, friendly, and really do care for their guests. I hated having to put Mum into care but am so happy to have found Blatchington Manor. Mum’s happy, always busy, and doesn’t understand why she can live in ‘such a lovely hotel’.

The decision as to when a care home is needed is one of the most difficult, thankfully Blatchington Manor has exceeded our expectations.
Staff are extremely caring and kind, recognising the individual needs for a happy fulfilling time.
The warmth and support from the staff make it feel homely; it
has become part of our family.
We all look for safe supported care, but Blatchington Manor provides that something extra which make a house a home.
Our thanks

Mum became unsafe at her house so my brothers and I took the hard decision to look for a care home for her.
Thank goodness we found Blatchington Manor.
What a beautiful place for my mother to be in. The staff are fantastic from management down, nothing is too much trouble and queries dealt with straight
away.
From being alone at home mum now has many activities in the week to enjoy and visits from various groups to look forward to as well as outside visits.
When I visited this week her nails had just been painted and she looked so well and glamorous it was hard to see she is 93.
We are all so thankful that she is enjoying her life in this amazing place.

My father-in-law has been a resident for over six months and from day one the care he has received has been exemplary. Of particular note for me is the way that he is greeted when returning to the care home which can often cause concern. He is very quickly welcomed and put at ease and his anxiety is
very quickly and gently dispelled. Staff are very attentive, calm and good-humoured and as a result, my father-in-law feels safe and cared for at all times.

I am delighted at how well my father has settled into Blatchington Manor. He has complex difficulties and was very resistant to the idea of residential care when he moved in late last year. Now, he is relaxed and happy and clearly feels very safe. He particularly loves the garden and all the singing
activities. The staff- all of them- domestic staff, kitchen staff, carers and management are remarkable in the level of care, commitment and kindness they provide.

My mother was a resident in Blatchington Manor for around 6 Months. It was a beautiful home in terms of furnishings and the catering was to a very high standard. However, what made this home stand out were the excellent staff who without exception were loving and caring and led by an amazing manager.
The manager was very hands-on and the operations director who ensured everything was 100%. They took great pride in the business but with love and compassion for the residents. I have no hesitation in rating this home at the highest possible rating in every aspect.

Beautiful luxury care home with a large spacious room. Very clean and tidy. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful in making the move from my mother's house to Blatchington Manor. Having started off by saying she really didn’t want to move, she has admitted that it was for the best and that she
feels very well cared and looked after. Honestly cannot think of anything that could be done to improve it. Mum has settled quickly and I feel hugely relieved that she is safe, healthy and happy.

Blatchington Manor is a warm and welcoming care home with a modern but homely feel. Everything has been designed to make the residents secure and comfortable and there are plenty of activities and lovely gardens to relax in. The staff are all very kind and caring and we are always given a lovely welcome
when we visit our mother. I would recommend Blatchington Manor to anyone needed a specialist dementia care home.

Very kind. All the care staff are and you are welcome into the place with a nice smile and show you where your family member is, which is in the lounge or outside in the garden enjoying the flowers and birds. Very good meals with TV, music, games to do and enjoy.

My mother has been living at Blatchington Manor since it opened. I can not recommend it enough. The staff, from the manager and deputy manager downwards are so friendly and caring. We always get a warm welcome when we arrive, whatever day or time we turn up. My mother is well looked after and has even
started putting on some weight as the food is "really good", high praise from her. She is kept busy with activities every day and the staff have taken time to get to know Mum and what her interests and previous life was like so they can tailor activities to suit her.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.651)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.651) out of 10 for Blatchington Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 14 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.826 for Blatchington Manor is calculated as follows: ( (143 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 167 Ratings = 4.826
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.825 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Blatchington Manor is based on 13 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.825
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 43 registered maximum number of service users is 8.6, which has been reached with 13 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
