My mum has been a resident since January 2022 and we have been really happy with the home and the quality of care she receives. She has at times been difficult to look after with increasing agitation due to the progress of her disease and staff have managed this with kindness and respect. The communication from the home has been excellent with incidents concerning our mum detailed on the app and by phone call. The house and garden are lovely and all staff are friendly and helpful. Thanks so much for what you do

I have found the staff at Blatchington Manor to be most caring, helpful and always pleasant to both residents and visitors. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them!

Due to no fault of the management and staff, I have witnessed a big turnover of employees during the time I have been visiting my sister in Blatchington. They certainly deserve a better remuneration for their great work!

I have been delighted with this care home. I had looked after Mum at home for seven years so this decision was a difficult one... but she has settled so well. The staff are really kind, they listen and have worked out what is the best care for her. She looks less anxious and has told me that it is nice there. There is much for her to join in with or just observe. The surroundings are lovely. Blessed to have found this place.

Overall Experience
Mum has been a resident at Blatchington Manor for over two years.
All members of the team take a real interest in Mum and genuinely care about her well-being and happiness. We're kept updated during our regular visits and can arrange meetings to discuss how best to meet Mum's changing needs, as well as email correspondence. Family and visitors are always welcome at any time - including Mum's dog.
The activities team are very committed to enhancing the experience of residents throughout the day and evenings. We're impressed by the range and frequency, e.g. singing, dancing, quizzes, crafts, art, rickshaw rides to the beach; walking to the local church; visits to local nurseries and schools; celebrations and events.
Everywhere is clean, bright and comfortable. The garden areas are stunning.

It was a hard decision to place Mum in a care home but the environment and the people helped to settle her. We're reassured she is better supported with all that's on offer and she is safe and secure.

The quality of service at Blatchington Manor has been outstanding. My mother-in-law has been in respite for a few weeks now and every member of staff is professional, kind, caring and 'can do'. The staff are always client-centric and make it their business to know what each client needs, at every level, to make their stay at Blatchington Manor a comfortable and quality experience. The registered, deputy and wellbeing managers are visible and always willing to listen and engage with clients and families. They even take turns making the coffee for families. We have been so lucky finding a place for her at Blatchington Manor during what is, of course, difficult times for families.

The kindness, patience and care that my father has received from all staff at Blatchington are really exceptional.
It was a hard decision to place him in a home, but they have not only supported him through the settling-in period but me as well.

He’s eating much better as a result of the quality and variety of food, sleeping better, joining daily activities and looks more cared for than he has in years.

My wife has been a resident at Blatchington Manor for 18-months and settled in very well. We were very apprehensive about how things would turn out, but we struck lucky with Blatching Manor. The care, warmth, professionalism and treatment to both residents and relatives are first class. At no time is there any sense of being just a customer or a number, every member of staff is kind and helpful. It is obviously a well-run company from the top-down and gives the impression of caring for residents as well as a profit.

Mum moved to Blatchington Manor almost two years ago after several years struggling at home while living with dementia. I looked at many care homes but when I walked into the Manor I knew immediately it was the place for Mum. The warmth, friendliness and caring environment is tangible. It doesn’t feel like a home, more like a hotel.

The staff are truly wonderful - I haven’t met a single one that is anything but a true carer - happy, friendly, and really do care for their guests. I hated having to put Mum into care but am so happy to have found Blatchington Manor. Mum’s happy, always busy, and doesn’t understand why she can live in ‘such a lovely hotel’.

The decision as to when a care home is needed is one of the most difficult, thankfully Blatchington Manor has exceeded our expectations.
Staff are extremely caring and kind, recognising the individual needs for a happy fulfilling time.
The warmth and support from the staff make it feel homely; it has become part of our family.
We all look for safe supported care, but Blatchington Manor provides that something extra which make a house a home.

Our thanks

Mum became unsafe at her house so my brothers and I took the hard decision to look for a care home for her.
Thank goodness we found Blatchington Manor.
What a beautiful place for my mother to be in. The staff are fantastic from management down, nothing is too much trouble and queries dealt with straight away.
From being alone at home mum now has many activities in the week to enjoy and visits from various groups to look forward to as well as outside visits.
When I visited this week her nails had just been painted and she looked so well and glamorous it was hard to see she is 93.

We are all so thankful that she is enjoying her life in this amazing place.

My father-in-law has been a resident for over six months and from day one the care he has received has been exemplary. Of particular note for me is the way that he is greeted when returning to the care home which can often cause concern. He is very quickly welcomed and put at ease and his anxiety is very quickly and gently dispelled. Staff are very attentive, calm and good-humoured and as a result, my father-in-law feels safe and cared for at all times.

I am delighted at how well my father has settled into Blatchington Manor. He has complex difficulties and was very resistant to the idea of residential care when he moved in late last year. Now, he is relaxed and happy and clearly feels very safe. He particularly loves the garden and all the singing activities. The staff- all of them- domestic staff, kitchen staff, carers and management are remarkable in the level of care, commitment and kindness they provide.

My mother was a resident in Blatchington Manor for around 6 Months. It was a beautiful home in terms of furnishings and the catering was to a very high standard. However, what made this home stand out were the excellent staff who without exception were loving and caring and led by an amazing manager. The manager was very hands-on and the operations director who ensured everything was 100%. They took great pride in the business but with love and compassion for the residents. I have no hesitation in rating this home at the highest possible rating in every aspect.
