We have found the care provided by King's Lodge to be of a very high standard. All the nurses and staff have been honest, approachable, friendly and very caring. Communication is good and my Mother despite her condition, is content and happy in her own way.

My brother died at Kings Lodge after some 4 1/2 years as a resident. I would like the staff to know how much we, his family, appreciate the care, respect and dignity paid to him, especially in the last few days of his life.

- Very impressed with the kindness of staff and welcome to relatives.
- The cleanliness of rooms and facilities is a key factor in the choice of home.
- Good communication following any medical concerns.
- On hand, medical expertise, mainly good but calls to outside services are immediate if required.
- Opportunities to meet staff and managers.

- Making birthday's special.

The induction on the first day of arrival could have been more thorough in terms of explaining procedures.

The manager was very thorough in his admission appraisal and Management Plan. Translating the Management Plan had its initial problems but speaking to the management I found them very approachable. The nursing care needed for my mother has been diligently followed and with care even though it is problematic both for the staff concerned and my mother. They have catered for the eating preferences of my mother. The rooms are large, clean and modern, which helps not only for nursing care but when my bed-bound mother has a small group of family visitors. When I visit my mother I have always been welcomed and asked how I am. In the circumstance, I find this considerate. I am very thankful and appreciative for what they are doing.

My husband has been living in Kings Lodge for nearly a year and I visit him almost every day. During my visits I see members of staff providing care in a thoughtful, considerate manner. On the whole, maintenance members of staff act promptly, the cleaning team are always in evidence and respond immediately to any spillages, the activities team take a happy, hands-on approach and the carers do their utmost to make sure the residents are comfortable and happy. The receptionist always has a pleasant greeting on arrival as does the manager who appears to have earned the respect of the staff. The nursing staff are on hand to discuss medical problems that arise and to alleviate any concerns. On a personal note, some days are not as good as others but I know I can approach any member of staff for support at these times.

The Home looked after both of my parents. My dad was ill when he went to the Home and the staff were so gentle and caring I feel they helped him die with dignity.
After dads death they looked after Mum I asked her if she wanted to move and got the reply "you dare and i'll disown you". Mum loved the home and all of the care staff

who were always gentle, kind and spent time with her when I couldn't get there. They always phoned if any problems with her health came up and kept me up to date with what was happening

My Mother was in Kings Lodge for about 14 months and suffered from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's. She had a very pleasant room. It is a nice spacious home with plenty of natural light and easy for access. I have no complaints as the staff work very hard despite working such long hours, in difficult circumstances and for low pay. Mum was relatively easy for staff to look after as her mental health went inwards and she was placid in nature. However, sadly her physical and mental health deteriorated very quickly. In her last few months she was not able to sit so permanently in bed and she could not eat or drink for herself and needed her food to be pureed. Mum needed 24/7 nursing care in order to keep her comfortable and to give her a reasonable quality of life. Mum passed away peacefully in her sleep on the 17th November 2015. The Manager is doing a great job and doing all the right things, he has a very challenging job but I am very grateful for the hard work.

My Mum has been there for more than a year - I have no complaints and am very grateful to all the staff and management for their care of my Mum - she has Alzheimer's with Parkinson's which is quite a toxic mix and in the space of a year mums mental and physical health has deteriorated but Kings Lodge has responded extremely well to the changes and challenges that this presents. I appreciate how difficult it is for them as my my Mum is completely dependent upon their 24/7 care. The facility is lovely and kept nice and clean and staff are always ready to address any concerns that you have. I am very grateful to all the staff and the management for the wonderful care they have given to my Mum. Thank You

Sajila ManoJob Title:Home Manager

I’ve been working at Kings Lodge since 2013, beginning as a qualified nurse before progressing to Head of Care, Deputy Manager, and most recently, Home Manager. Throughout my time here, I’ve been privileged to work alongside a dedicated team who share the same goal: providing exceptional care to our residents.

My role also involves overseeing the training and development of our staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver the highest standard of care. This ongoing professional development is key to maintaining the quality of support we offer.

I’ve built strong professional relationships with multidisciplinary teams, including GPs and community matrons, which enables us to deliver well-rounded, effective care to our residents. These collaborations play an essential role in ensuring that our home runs smoothly, and that residents’ health and well-being are always prioritised.

At Kings Lodge, care is at the heart of everything we do, and I am committed to ensuring our residents feel supported and valued.
