Well managed and good atmosphere. Modern facilities and cheerful and caring staff.

On the downside, the caring staff do not have enough what I call 'arm around the shoulder' time with the residents. To meet my criticism, the staff to resident ratio would have to be increased by at least 30% which

would probably mean that the fees charged would have to be raised to make the enterprise viable.

My father in law was in Kings Lodge for 17months and I feel he was well looked after. The nurses and carers worked very hard to make his stay as comfortable as possible.
Yes, I would recommend this home to others.

My mum spent about 10 months at Kings Lodge. She was treated with care and dignity. My dad and I always felt welcome and spent many hours there with my dear mum. The staff are amazing and made my mums last few months a special time. We spent many hours in the lovely garden.

I feel very relieved to find a kind and efficient nursing home for my husband who has dementia. He has settled into the little community here and is quite happy to return after the family have taken him on an outing. The staff have always been kind and understanding, especially in the early days while
he was settling in.

Kings Lodge is a beautiful home, it's clean and fresh smelling which is most important. The staff are always polite and I'm always greeted with a smile.
All the care team have been wonderful and have a great knowledge of their job. The activity team are great there is always something for the residents
to do, whether it be a beer in the garden or a game of wheelchair basketball! The manager's door was always open for anything we needed, which made us feel very at ease.
Overall a great hard working team, happy content residents and brilliant value for money. Highly recommended!

Although my mother was only a resident at Kings Lodge for a short time, I was extremely pleased with the attentive care and compassion the staff provided. The home is very well organised and all staff (admin and nursing) were very friendly and helpful at all times. They also looked after our family,
in particular, my elderly father, during his extended visits to see my mother.

My dad came in for respite care at Kings Lodge, he was in for a month. Unfortunately my dad passed away on 7th March at Kings Lodge. The care I saw your employees giving my dad was outstanding (they really did care for him as if he was their own).
I cannot thank them enough. Please pass on our thanks
to the staff.

We have found the care provided by King's Lodge to be of a very high standard. All the nurses and staff have been honest, approachable, friendly and very caring. Communication is good and my Mother despite her condition, is content and happy in her own way.

- Very impressed with the kindness of staff and welcome to relatives.
- The cleanliness of rooms and facilities is a key factor in the choice of home.
- Good communication following any medical concerns.
- On hand, medical expertise, mainly good but calls to outside services are immediate if required.
-
Opportunities to meet staff and managers.
- Making birthday's special.

The induction on the first day of arrival could have been more thorough in terms of explaining procedures.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.872)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.872) out of 10 for Kings Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.897 for Kings Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (203 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 224 Ratings = 4.897
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kings Lodge is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 77 registered maximum number of service users is 15.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
