My uncle arrived at King's Lodge during last year's lockdown and he was welcomed with open arms by the manager and deputy manager and their amazing staff team. As my uncle's needs changed, the manager kept me and my sister informed, creating ways and adaptations to support him whilst always consulting with us and providing support to us too with a high level of professionalism and understanding. During the Covid visits, the 'pink ladies' always greeted my sister and me warmly and ensured our uncle was comfortable and safe for all. Therefore I can highly recommend this home as I have enormous respect for all the care they gave to my uncle.

The activity staff (pink uniforms) who have been manning the protected visits at the home have been wonderful. On our last visit, they stayed with my mum as she has dementia and doesn't communicate easily. Not being able to visit family has been very hard during the covid lockdown, and so any visit is very special. The home has organised everything so well so we have been able to see her safely. Overall, the level of care she received is the best we have had throughout her illness. The staff are so dedicated and kind; this can be seen when you visit, they are all so happy and calm. Thank you to all the staff at Kings Lodge.

I cannot sufficiently express my gratitude to the Manager and staff of Kings Lodge nursing home for the foresight and dedication which has kept the establishment free from the COVID-19 virus. I applaud the decisiveness which caused the home to be closed early, however painful to all concerned and can only imagine how hard the staff must have worked to sustain appropriate levels of hygiene. The regular emails to keep relatives informed were most kind and very reassuring, especially in the earliest, most frightening weeks.

In such difficult times, this probably the worst time to think about finding a placement for dad but, the Manager and his wonderful team made the decision so easy. They all have a friendly and kind attitude and never too busy to help dad or talk to us. I would highly recommend Kings Lodge as a restful place to settle a loved one.

I continue to be very pleased with the care provided for my mother at Kings Lodge. The staff are very friendly, helpful and keep me informed of all developments regarding my mother's care. I would happily recommend Kings Lodge to other people.

My husband went into Kings Lodge on April 1st 2020. Unfortunately during this difficult time, I have not been able to visit him due to the coronavirus shutdown. However, the staff arranged skype visits and in June organised a visiting rota so that we could see him albeit at a distance once a fortnight. Being able to see him in the flesh has been great and also enabled my stepdaughter and me (and the dog) to meet some of the staff who have always been very helpful and amusing and obviously get on well with him. On each visit he has always looked well cared for and so much better than when he left the hospital, having settled in well.

My aunt has been resident at Kings Lodge, Chidham since April 2020 - pretty much throughout the pandemic. The manager and his staff have looked after her wonderfully. She is happy and safe - and I can relax knowing that she is being looked after.

We visited my husband for the first time in many months because of lockdown. My son and I had an excellent experience. The staff was caring and professional. My husband was settled with a book, clean-shaven, with a cup of tea. We did get a slight smile by the end of the visit. He was even looking to have gained weight. Thank you Kings Lodge.

My mum has advanced dementia, and since being moved to Kings Lodge, her condition has improved. She has her pain managed, and she enjoys the activities. The staff are all very helpful and caring.

My father who struggles with severe dementia has been at Kings Lodge for two years. The care he receives is professional and kind. All the staff have time for all the residents and provide pastoral care as well as day to daycare. My father is safe and happy and during his final years, he has a home.

My dad has dementia and only moved into Kings Lodge in Feb 20, from the moment we viewed we knew he was going to be well looked after. The staff/manager are all so welcoming, interested in all the residents' needs, professional on all levels, entertainment team and activities are great and fun whether it’s singing, dancing or gardening or pub quizzes they truly work so hard to keep the residents engaged. Through the pandemic the manager has kept family updated every week and has honestly done the best job at keeping my dad safe from it all, which I’ll be forever grateful for, he has shown his dedication to keeping them all safe and achieved this beyond words. Setting up facilities such as FaceTime to keep in touch and posting pictures daily just to keep family involved while not being able to see them which has meant so much to me and many more families. I couldn’t be more grateful to Kings Lodge for their constant hard work.

Kings Lodge have been wonderful with my grandma. She is 99, suffers from dementia and has been living there for just over 2 years. Everyone is so human and friendly, and they've been great at keeping in touch with my mum, who found the process of choosing and moving her in very difficult. During the coronavirus pandemic, they've been video call relatives which has really cheered everyone up, and somehow have managed not to let the virus in. Outstanding!

Overall, I cannot fault the home.

My Dad has been at Kings Lodge for nearly 4 years now. Can’t quite believe that! From the moment of being shown around to initial conversations to moving in and Dad living there; I have only praise for all the staff. They are always so busy but somehow find the time to make you feel welcome and reassured about how everything is going. They care for Dad with love and a smile (even if Dad is being loud and a bit naughty). The events and activities are very special: cake mornings, lama visits, Halloween fun, Christmas dinner, singalongs... all to enhance the days of the residents. Food is great. Rooms are clean. Communication is super. Care is first class. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This is such a good care home. My mum has been in their care for a year now and my father and I have been very happy with all aspects of this friendly, well-run home.

My husband has been in the home for 9 months now and his and our family experience has been good. Our experience has been limited to our visits, but we have had a few grumbles from my husband, which have diminished with time. The care and kindness of the staff has been excellent. Also the occupational therapy team, who show a great deal of patience and commitment. The medical side of care has been promptly dealt with there whenever needed. Altogether, both my husband, myself and the family are very satisfied.

Good general care. No issues.
