My experience of Kings Lodge is a positive one.
The staff are cheerful and helpful without fail.
My husband is well cared for and happy in his environment as much as can be judged considering the dementia aspect.

I have visited Kings Lodge at various times during my husband's stay in the home and at no time have I seen less than the wonderful care they all receive. The food is highly thought out and excellent. The staff have a very difficult job and work hard to look after the patients.

My relative has been in Kings Lodge for some time. Now I am grateful for the care that he has received and is still having, healthwise, physically and mentally by all the staff, not only nursing staff but all the other staff in the building who go about their daily business with a friendly smile.
Not
only has he been looked after medically but has been stimulated mentally by entertainments and outings organised by staff, employed solely for the reason of arranging concerts, visits from various speakers and even animals. There is also a bar!
What more could one ask for.

I did recommend the home to a dear friend, who has since sadly died. Kings Lodge caring staff were lovely to him as they are to my mother, who has been here for four years now. Staff are lovely. Food choices are excellent, altogether a wonderful home.

Unfortunately, my mother did not spend long at Kings Lodge but the care she received during the few weeks she was there was exceptional. Every member of staff was so kind and friendly.
There was such great effort to care for my mother and keep her comfortable until she passed away.
I cannot speak
more highly or have more thanks.

My mother-in-law spent her final weeks at Kings Lodge being looked after and cared for so compassionately by the excellent staff.
Everyone was so friendly and showed total professionalism. The nursing home had such a "caring feel" which made our visits so pleasant even under sad circumstances. A fabulous
team from the manager, nursing staff and support staff which is a tremendous credit to LRH-homes.

My mum came to Kings Lodge for end of life care from hospital and unfortunately, she was only with them for 15 days as she was very unwell. I had a choice of several homes to send her to but had a lovely feeling about Kings Lodge from the very first visit. I was not disappointed.
My husband and I
spent long periods of time with mum and I was so impressed with every member of staff we encountered. They were always attentive and professional when administering care but also showed such patience, care and compassion to mum at all times, especially in her last days. Even indirect staff including household, admin, catering were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was always very cheerful and positive. Not only did the staff support mum but they really made us feel included in decisions about her care and took time to explain everything and offer us support during such a difficult time.
I cannot praise the team enough, would recommend them without reservation.

Whenever we visit Kings Lodge, we’re always made very welcome the staff are all really kind and helpful. At Christmas, myself and my husband visited my father-in-law with our 3 children and the staff were fabulous, making sure we were all happy with drinks and space in a family room for quality time
together, to relax and play games. We all had a lovely time, we always receive a warm welcome. The home always provides lots of activities for the residents and don’t think my father-in-law could be anywhere better.

My brother-in-law was not coping with everyday life at home. He has been at Kings Lodge for approximately 1 year and the improvement in his mental state/happiness is remarkable. The staff at Kings Lodge understand his needs and treat him as an individual. His surroundings are light and airy, he enjoys
the garden and is now taking part (with encouragement from the staff) in the varied activities on offer. Visitors are always made very welcome.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.872)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.872) out of 10 for Kings Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 19 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.897 for Kings Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (203 Excellents x 5) + (19 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 224 Ratings = 4.897
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.975 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kings Lodge is based on 19 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.975
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 77 registered maximum number of service users is 15.4, which has been reached with 19 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
