Hillside Lodge Comes highly recommended not only myself but all of our family and friends

Hillside is a lovely home, and the commitment of the management and staff is to be applauded. The professionalism and how hard they all work is a credit to Shaw Healthcare, especially after the appalling time they all have all been through. I am thankful that my friend, who has been at Hillside for 5 years, is being cared and looked after by such a fantastic team.

The genuine care that the staff have for the residents is remarkable, and it is this that makes this home so incredible.

My father has only recently moved to the care home following health problems when he had to be admitted to the hospital, on several occasions. He was sent to other respite care homes before being admitted to Hillside Lodge, where he has been offered a long term stay. He appears to have settled in well. The staff are helpful and friendly. My father is currently having a financial assessment carried out, so we do not know what may be required to contribute towards his care, at the home. I am not really in a position to make comments on the following, as we have not been permitted to enter the care home due to COVID -19, so do not have any idea as to what some of the following are like.

My mother has been a resident here for the last 21 months, 17 months on the Dementia floor and I cannot fault the care and attention given to her. All the staff know all the residents, and the staff are like a great big extended family. I am completely confident that they will always look after Mum completely and always keep us informed when needed. They also do not hesitate to defer to other professionals to aid her care. I would like to say an enormous thank you to all the staff, not just the carers, but the support staff too, the catering team, the laundry team, the caretaker, the cleaners, everyone, who have gone above and beyond during the covid pandemic. I would, and have, recommended this family-friendly care home to others. Thank you all from our family.

They really look after me and take care of my needs, friendly and efficient.

It's such a shame that the managers keep coming and going, that seems the only downfall of this particular care home!

A fantastic friendly caring home, the staff are all excellent, carers, cleaners, laundry, reception and kitchen staff are all amazing. The home is spotless and maintained to a high standard. There is a real family feel to this care home, and the layout of the home is excellent for my mother who has dementia. I would recommend it to anyone. A well-managed establishment.

My mother recently arrived at Hillside Lodge, and when I visited it before she arrived, I felt very comfortable placing her there. Since that time my brother and I have visited numerous times and we can only say the level of care and kindness is everything we could have hoped for. The home itself is spotless and well cared for (recently completely redecorated), and the staff in every area have been wonderful. I can rest easy at night knowing my mother is in good hands. They have done a beautiful job making the place cosy and bright with lots of lovely art and positive messages. The place is decorated very festively and creatively for Christmas, which I know puts a smile on residents, staff and visitors alike. This is exactly the kind of place I hoped we would find for my mother. Huge relief to know she's there.

My aunt was transferred to Hillside Lodge from about care home as she needs nursing care, not just residential care. She is now receiving end of life care and I cannot praise the staff enough for the care and support they are providing. As next of kin I am fully involved in decisions and my input is welcomed and appreciated by the staff. Even if Hillside is a longer journey for relatives I would strongly urge you to consider Hillside Lodge.

I feel very comfortable when I visit my mother and can make a cup of tea after travelling a long distance.

Staff are lovely, full of humour and obviously like their work.

My mum moved here from another nearby home (which was awful) and the difference in standards is unbelievable. Hillside Lodge is such a happy, safe place - I never worry about my mum when I'm away as I know she is well looked after.

The staff are always friendly and welcoming, the rooms are bright, airy and clean. I feel so lucky that this is where Mum is living, it’s a huge relief to the whole family.

The home is nice and light, generally clean and fresh, making it a joy to visit. The staff are warm and friendly, and very busy most times. My mother always seems to be well cared for.

Excellent care home. This home I would highly recommend. The staff are so caring and always happy, it is lovely to see smiley faces when you walk through the entrance door. The home is always lovely and clean and with pictures etc on the walls, it looks so homely. Entertainment is excellent too for the residents in this home and mustn't forget the food excellent, cater for all and always a choice on the menu. This home is first class, what else can I say.

We, the resident's relatives, have nothing but praise for the staff and the home.

The accommodation is excellent and spotlessly clean. The decor is also great. The management is first class. They listen to the residents and staff re any problems. Like any care home, it is only as good as the Carers. At Hillside they are PEARLS, hard-working, pleasant and professional and the residents come first, a great thing.

When there is a need to have a loved one placed into care you hear and see so many bad things. But there are care homes that are good and Hillside Lodge is in my opinion brilliant, from the cleanliness of the home to the food, and as for the staff, they are simply marvellous. The care and support they give is beyond first class. Words will never do them enough justice and I thank them for everything they do for my mother and all the residents.
