Apsley House Care Home

Dad went to Apsley House Care Home for, what turned out to be, the last ten months of his life. He had dementia and become immobile which made it quite challenging to care for him but we always found the staff friendly and Dad had a laugh with them. He seemed to be well looked after and we were able to visit without too much notice and sometimes none. He was encouraged to join in activities but was not always keen to - the choice was his. The worry of his health and well-being during his last months was alleviated to a great extent by Apsley for which we are very grateful. He died aged 94.

Generally very happy with the staff, Dad's treatment and the care he received during his ten-month stay. Though he wouldn't admit it, he had a good time with the staff up until the end.

Excellent treatment and care for my mother during her stay at Apsley House Care Home.

Mum was only here for three weeks and spent most of her time in bed, I am unable to mark the food and activities as she wasn't eating or drinking. That being said the whole staff were helpful, warm and friendly and treated Mum the way she deserved. Thank you to all the staff.

From the very first step into Aspley House, we, as a family, felt our father (step-day, husband and grandad) had arrived at the best place we could have wished for from day one until the day he passed. The most perfect place to have en-of-life from an awful Pancreatic Cancer but all made easier by all the amazing staff and team at Apsley House. We are so grateful as a family.

From my first visit to Dad at Apsley House, all the staff have gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome and treat the home as our home. From the time end-of-life care started, they have made sure we have been informed of all decisions. He was treated with the utmost dignity at all times, and although his final hours were the hardest, they were also made the easiest by the love and care shown by all the staff.

My dad has been treated by every member of the Apsley team with great respect and enormous dignity throughout his stay. Our family always felt welcome, and they really helped us when it came to the end. Our thanks go to everyone at Apsley House.

Everyone was extremely attentive and caring not only to Mum but to all her visitors, especially in the final hours. This made everything easier to bear.

Our family member was well cared for, staff were attentive, friendly and supportive; also readily available and willing to deal with any questions, queries or requests. We always felt that our family member was safe and secure throughout her 4-and-a-half-month stay at Apsley House.

A most excellent home. Staff were always friendly to residents and visitors. The personal care was regular and carried out to a high standard. I had full confidence that my wife was in the best hands. The building was clean and tidy, and the food was to a good standard.

My brother went to live at Apsley House in July. Straight away we were made to feel welcome. He was well cared for and he loved the outside area by the fountain. My brother passed away on 1st October 2022. They made his last few days peaceful. I was with him over those days and I was also well looked after.

The care given to my mother is without fault. She seems as comfortable as is possible and always clean and tidy, which must be difficult as she is immobile and doubly incontinent. Very happy we decided to move Mum into Apsley House - 2 and a half years ago.

Apsley House is a very caring and safe place for Mum to be. She is always clean and tidy when we visit and her room is spotless. Very friendly staff.
