We are now 10 weeks since my wife was admitted to Russettings and it has been a learning curve for all involve (i.e. My wife, staff, the family and myself). There has been a coordinated response to my wife's care and needs resulting in an environment that has lead to remarkable improvements in her
health and wellbeing. Personally I have witnessed exceptional care and consideration to all the residents sometimes under stressful conditions.
A big thank you to everybody involve.

From my first contact with Russettings, I was profoundly impressed by their caring and supportive approach. The home is comfortable and very well equipped, but what really sets it apart from other homes is the compassion and professionalism shown by each and every staff member. From care staff to nursing
to housekeeping, people really did look after my mother. The home is cosy, clean and safe, and always felt full of laughter and joy. My mother was treated with dignity and kindness throughout her stay, and I never had to worry about her. She was closely monitored at all times, and I was always kept informed of her health. The food was great and always freshly cooked, and there were a wide variety of wonderful activities. Her room was lovely and peaceful with great views. I would recommend Russettings without reservation to anyone, particularly those suffering from dementia. I can't thank them enough for the support they provided to my mother (and to myself) during her time there.
Reply from Nikki Pile, Manager at Russettings Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review.
We are truly grateful for your kind words and for entrusting Russettings with your mother's care. It means a great deal to know that from your very first contact you felt supported, and that throughout her stay your mother was treated with the dignity, kindness and compassion that are so important to us.
Your comments will be shared with the whole team. They will be deeply touched to know the positive difference their care and professionalism made to both your mother and to you.
Supporting families as well as residents is at the heart of what we do, and we are honoured to have been able to provide comfort, reassurance and joy during your mother's time with us. Thank you again for your recommendation and for your trust - it truly means more to us than words can express.

My husband came to Russettings on 21st Oct, after over eight weeks in hospital. He was made welcome straight away. Lovely to see such lovely smiles. Nothing is too much trouble.
He was very aggressive in hospital the staff tale the time to handle him with care and understanding.

We understand how challenging the past weeks must have been for both of you, and we're glad that our staff's patience, care, and understanding have helped your husband settle in after his time in hospital. Supporting residents with compassion especially when they're feeling distressed or unsettled is at the heart of what we do.

My husband spent a week at Russettings Care Home in January 2025. Even though he was very poorly, needing end of life care, he was warmly welcomed into the home, and the management were kind and helpful to us as a family. The care he received from all the staff was exceptional. They were always happy
to help in whatever way possible, from making him more comfortable, to suggesting options for food that could be suitable for him. The nursing care, also, was of a very high quality and they did everything they could for him, my husband was shown both dignity and compassion by all. We could see that he was peaceful, in a room we could make his own, which had the most wonderful views. These he was able to enjoy, even though he was bed bound. We felt very supported as a family and were able to spend maximum time with him, which we are so grateful for.
Reply from Nikki Pile, Manager at Russettings Care HomeThank you for your kind words, your feedback is very important to us. It was a pleasure for us to look after your husband and support you and your family during such an emotional time.

Since my wife became a resident last summer I have been most impressed by the dedication and kindness of all the staff and the care with which they treat all the residents. The effort that was put into the care and entertainment programme for the December and Christmas period was really outstanding
and made what could have been a difficult and upsetting period for residents and family a lovely enjoyable experience.

I've just attended the Christmas party at Russettings Care Home where my husband is now a resident. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was a really joyous occasion. Live music with age-appropriate songs. Lovely to see some residents enjoying a boogie with their families and the positive interaction
the carers had with those joining in from their chairs. The conservatory provided a quieter area too, at a distance from the main festivities. A delicious, high-quality buffet to round it off. Well done!

I attended a fabulous Indian lunch to celebrate Diwali at the invitation of the care home management. The portions were very generous and delicious. Although I was unavoidably unable to arrive at the very beginning, I was smoothly directed to my seat next to my husband and daughter. My husband ate a
little of the Indian food but found the experience a bit bewildering. However, staff quickly put him at ease by producing his familiar hand sandwiches and ice cream.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.751)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.751) out of 10 for Russettings Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.876 for Russettings Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (155 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 177 Ratings = 4.876
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Russettings Care Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
