My dear dad had been in hospital since July and sadly needed end of life care.
From the first conversation with the reception team, to meeting the manager for a viewing, the kindness and care shown to me and the residents was easy to see.
Dad arrived and within 24hours was comfortable clean cared for and in his words they are smashing.

He sadly passed away and we were with him. It was respectful, gentle and still so caring. Our whole family feel blessed his last weeks were exactly as he wanted and deserved. Many many thanks from us all.

Our Dad spent his last few weeks at Russettings Care Home. The staff were very caring and compassionate and treated him with dignity and respect. It eased our minds, being in Canada, that he was so well looked after. You could tell during phone calls that they really cared about him and many of them attended his funeral. Thank you Russettings staff for all that you did for Dad.

Overall Experience
When my mother had a stroke at the age of 91 and was diagnosed with dementia, my mother's life and mine (her daughter) changed immensely.

My mother had lost her independence and I had lost my mother and we were both scared. However, Rassettings took my mother in an gave her a new lease of life. My mother felt comfortable, safe and happy. She went from living alone to having lots of people to talk to and social events. I could see that my mother was eating a healthy diet and her skin, clothes and bedding were always clean. It was reassuring that the nurses were on hand and the doctor made frequent regular visits. At Russettings my other was in capable hands and lived with dignity until the age of 96.

My Dad sadly passed 18.12.17 having been a resident since September 2016. During his stay he was always kept clean and comfortable and we could not have asked for better care for my beloved Dad. The staff were all amazing and went above and beyond their care of duty. During my Dad's final 36 hours, me and my Mum and sisters stayed at Dad's bedside. The staff were amazing. I can not thank them enough for making us so welcome and comfortable.

The staff, led by an able and kind manager, are generally helpful and friendly. What is perhaps missing is a sense of camaraderie in the lounge area and a lack of interaction with residents. I understand that attempts are being made, so far unsuccessful to recruit carers of sufficient personality to enliven proceedings and make life more fulfilling for everyone.

Reply from Adam Stuttle, Director at Russettings Care Home

Many thanks for taking the time to review our home. Constructive feedback allows us to concentrate our efforts on continual improvements and I am sure that you are aware of our ongoing recruitment campaign which has recently welcomed a new activities coordinator to the team. We are always looking at new and innovative ways to attract the very best carers for our home.

Mum was admitted in March 2016 and from the start we felt very comfortable with the home, the staff were very friendly and professional especially the nurses. The rooms were clean and tidy and mum was looked after very well during her stay. The staff always took time to explain what was going on with mum and always had time to talk to the family. I would recommend this home to anyone. Many thanks.

Everyone is very caring and attentive, this is what makes the home homely. The surroundings help but the staff are what makes it so special.

Overall Experience

Mum, age 90, has been resident at Russettings since 9.6.15 as she has vascular dementia & Alzheimers. My parents have been married for 70 years & my physically disabled Dad, now age 92, continues to live in their bungalow.

My sisters & I chose Russettings for Mum's care because it felt more 'homely' & welcoming than any others we'd visited...& it smelled nice. Mum's bedroom with ensuite is always clean & tidy & the communal lounge, dining room & lovely conservatory are always welcoming. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, look after Mum with caring diligence & ensure she has ready access to the GP, chiropodist, hairdresser, etc. There is plenty of disabled equipment & the laundry is efficient, taking good care of Mum's clothes. Meals are varied, interesting & well cooked. My father is also well looked after when he visits & enjoys having meals with Mum, as do we. Daily 'activities' are somewhat limited but should improve soon. Lucky we made the right choice for Mum!

Mum tells me she is very comfortable. Happy at Russettings, with a nice selection of people (her words). I myself find the home second to none and my mum receives excellent care and I am always made to feel very welcome.
