Father with advancing dementia, who has not been the easiest of residents to contend with at times. The most important factor for my family and I is the staff. Got to know many during my visits. The level of care they provide is first class. I don’t know how they do it, I can’t speak highly enough of them. Especially coming through the Covid pandemic. Incredible people really. Big hearts with big responsibilities. The dedication and kindness they’ve shown to my Dad, family and I has been immense. I have no hesitation recommending Russettings Care Home and hope my review helps others who naturally, like us, were faced with that most terrible decision i.e. putting our dearly loved Dad into care when we could no longer care for his daily needs. Thank you to the manager and team, from the bottom of our hearts.

My father was admitted to Russettings, via the NHS, after being rejected by three other so-called “Care Homes” because of his dementia. It has become apparent that he needs a very high level of individual care, and the nursing team and their colleagues at Russettings have stepped up to the mark. At a recent online meeting, representatives from both the NHS and Social Services commented on the excellent quality and detail of the nursing team’s records. We are very pleased with Russettings and their care and professionalism, and extremely grateful they accepted my father into their care.

Thank you for your feedback. Your support has been valuable to us too. I believe that working together gives us a greater understanding of your father's background, likes and dislikes which helps us to build a personalised care plan so that we are able to deliver the best and most appropriate care for him. Your father's wellbeing is paramount and it is our pleasure to keep him happy and safe.

Putting mum into a home seemed like a failure.
As it turned out she was much better off at Russettings Care Home that 4 carers a day attending for 20 to 30 minutes a time.

She had company and was safe. Thank you.

Our mum went to Russettings Care Home in September 2021 because she had Alzheimer's and she was inclined to wander. The staff were always lovely and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them and our mum was safe and well cared for at Russettings Care Home. Our mum's final months and moments had all the love, care and professionalism we could have wished for. Thank you Russettings Care Home for being there for all of us.

My father-in-law was a resident at Russettings just over five years ago and received professional and kind care during his stay, so when my own father's needs required a nursing home I had no doubt that he would be well looked after. The staff are so kind and caring and always willing to go that extra step for his care as well as ours when visiting. The NHS and Social Services were very impressed with the content and amount of reports written to describe my fathers needs when assessing his care, their comments being that 'they had never seen such well-informed reports' Whilst it has taken my dad time to settle, his mental welfare from his dementia has improved and he is a lot happier. He has regular visits from the GP and the staff continue to care for or organise for his personal needs the home is very good at keeping us informed of any changes either to my dad's health or visiting hours changing due to changing Covid rules. Thank you so much, everyone.

My Mum has been in the care home since March. We have not seen her room because of the current situation, but all the feelings we have had with the management and staff have been positive. We have visited her every couple of weeks and she is more than happy there.

My aunt has been a resident at Russettings for three years now. She was leading a fully independent life before she had a serious stroke and became bedridden. The adjustment has been difficult as it is for most residents, I am sure, but the staff are very patient, kind and caring and have given her a lot of support. My brother and I are particularly impressed with the way the home has handled the pandemic and been able to keep everyone safe thus far. We are very grateful for this and knowing that our aunt is in good hands. Thank you.

My Mum was a resident here for just over four months and in that time she was extremely well looked after. She had a beautiful room overlooking the garden and was amused for hours by her bird feeders. Although Mum didn't participate, there was always something in the way of entertainment going on. What I saw of the food, it looked lovely and varied. All in all a very lovely place for Mum to end her life.

My mother has been a resident of Russettings since 2016 and, sadly, she is now slipping away. The care that she has received, and continues to receive, has been exemplary, and I cannot thank the staff enough for their dedication and kindness to both my mother and myself. These difficult days are made considerably easier by knowing that her every need is taken care of, without fuss and with genuine compassion. Thank you, everyone, so very much, for everything!

We just wanted to send through a message to thank the Carers and Nursing Staff for their Care of Mum during her stay at Russettings. In particular, we would like to thank the Carer for delaying her break to ensure that she stayed with Mum when she sadly passed away, this was very much appreciated. The staff have all been very caring and Mum settled in nicely, which we had fears would never be said of a Nursing Home. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her trip to the Theatre at the Hawth and trips down to the village and again we would like to thank the staff involved. When we came to collect Mum`s belongings from her room, we were touched by the staff that were working that day, that made a point of knocking on the door to express their condolences and to say what a special lady she was.

We would definitely recommend Russettings.

Another's preferences and circumstances and requirements may differ from mine.
Given the layout of the building and its limitations, the facilities are good and the safety also good.
The particular food and drink demands of my relative are well met.
I note several suggested improvements have been put in place which is good.

The dining room tables and floor sometimes need cleaning, particularly at the weekend.

My friend has been at Russettings for a few months and I am more than delighted with her care. She can be very difficult regarding personal care to say the least but the staff know her well and manage to cajole her most of the time. I have the utmost respect for the staff at Russettings and delighted my friend is being cared for by them.

My aunt has only been with you 4 months but in that time she has been well looked after. She does not mix well with the other people in the home and will not take part in the activities you put on so well. I would like her not to be in bed all day and when we visit her take her out in the garden when the weather warmer.

My mum and dad both came into Russettings in 2012 as my dad was needing more help than my mum could manage; two very different people. My dad liked fun, my mum more serious but both were treated with respect and care and understanding.

I only have praise for all the staff, from cleaners, laundry, general carers, senior carers, nursing staff and management. Just one criticism, it would be nice if some of the bad dementia cases could somehow be separated.

My parents were resident here since December 2012. My father passed away in March 2015, age 99 and my mother passed in October 2018, age 101. Father loved the home and the staff loved him. Mother never wanted to be in a home and could be difficult but many of the staff understood her dilemma and had ways of keeping her graceful. All the staff, we the family were familiar with, treated my parents with care and dignity. Sure, we had the odd problems from time to time but in talking with the management team, any issues were soon rectified/sorted. This care home was always clean, warm and well fun. The food always appeared of good quality.
