From her very first hospital assessment and advising my Dad with all the paperwork in order to have her moved as quickly as possible; to the last few days of her life, the care and consideration shown by all members of staff was wonderful.
Someone was always on hand to check whether Mum was comfortable or to provide a cup of tea and a smile for us all.
Mum spent the last few days of her life smiling and incredibly grateful to receive such caring, friendly, and dignified treatment.
Her room was spotless bright and spacious and felt like a home from home and the food was prepared fresh daily.
It was comforting for the grandchildren to visit a care home and to see residents full of life and laughter.
Thanks to the care at Stildon, Mum was able to end her days peacefully and contentedly; it did feel like a sanctuary to us all and made the experience easier to endure.
Thank you for this wonderful review. I am so glad that the entire team supported your lovely mum and family during this difficult time. At Stildon, we pride ourselves on the quality of end-of-life care we provide. Your mum was a truly inspirational woman who I can honestly say touched everyone with...
When she arrived at Stildon, all the staff came to meet her, making her and us feel welcome. There were also some lovely, fresh flowers in her room which were much appreciated!
Mum said that all the staff, from reception to cleaners, nursing and care staff, activity coordinators and managers, were friendly, kind, caring and always approachable. Mum enjoyed the meals and also the opportunity to eat in the dining room with other residents.
It was a relief to me and my brothers to know that Mum was being supported, especially initially with her personal care and at night.
Thank you so much for taking the time to review us. I am so glad that we were able to support your mum and give your family peace of mind. Thank you again.
Birthdays were always celebrated by on the on-duty staff singing happy birthday and a cake with candles. She adored the chance to hold the ducklings in the spring and being able to stroke my dog, Daphne, beside her on the bed. I was always greeted as a welcome member of the team and will miss the staff for their great company, support and cheerful attitude at all times. I cannot recommend Stildon too highly.
Thank you for your lovely words. It has been such a pleasure to care for your lovely mum and be part of your family as we helped to support you. You have been a wonderful advocate for Stildon over the years and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
My mum went into Stildon for two weeks for some emergency respite care just before Christmas. The care she received in her opinion, and in ours, was excellent. The rooms are clean, bright and comfortable. The communal areas are bright, comfortable and homely. The staff are professional, caring, kind and patient and treated her with dignity. We were made to feel welcome every time we visited. The nursing staff liaised with us and my mum’s GP regarding her condition and pain relief. A huge weight was taken off my shoulders knowing that she was being so well looked after. My mum chose not to join in activities but there seems to be a lot going on that she could have joined in with. And the food was really good too. All in all, I would recommend Stildon to anyone that is needing somewhere to go where they feel looked after and safe. The manager is very responsive and easy to chat to and the reception and admin staff are really helpful too.
Thank you for taking the time to write Stildon such a lovely and kind review. We are so glad that we were able to support your mum through a challenging time in her life and I am glad we could give you peace of mind. You were both a joy to welcome into the home. We wish you all the best.
My mum was at Stildon for 16 months. She was always well cared for and comfortable. The staff were very caring and attentive, and Mum had her favourites. Her room has a warm and homely feel to it. Mum didn't wish to take part in many activities, but the programme was good and varied. The trips to the racecourse were brilliant, and being able to take Mum out to this helped her well-being. The staff ensured Mum was very comfortable and passed away pain-free and dignified. I would not hesitate to recommend Stildon.
Thank you for taking the time to write Stildon such a lovely review. I am so glad our team made such a difference in your mum’s life; we enjoyed looking after her. I will pass on your kind words to the team here at Stildon; they will be thrilled to read your kind words.
Stildon is a comfortable, well-equipped home which really does try to be "home" for its residents and very supportive of the family.
We very much enjoy supporting your...
I have been very impressed with all the staff, both caring and admin, who have helped the move go as smoothly as possible.
The care my wife now receives is 1st class, as all of the staff have given us their time to get to know my wife and also myself, being a frequent visitor.
I would have no qualms, about recommending Stildon to anyone looking for a home for a loved one, safe in the knowledge that they would receive care of the highest quality.
Thank you for taking the time to write this kind and positive review for us at Stildon. We are so happy to hear that your wife has settled with us and is most importantly calm and happy.
I am very grateful to all the staff at Brendoncare Stildon for the kind, helpful, patient and sensitive care that is given to my relative. The atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and positive. I have been impressed how her care has been adapted to her increasing needs and it is reassuring to know that she is in safe, professional and caring hands.
Thank you for your lovely review. You are such a support to us. I am so glad that you are happy with our proactive response to your aunt’s increasing needs. We review care daily to meet resident needs and as you can see this works well.
We have been extremely impressed with the excellent level of nursing and residential care provided at Brendoncare Stildon. Following a stroke, our mother is entirely reliant on the staff for all her needs. The home is always clean. Communication is good, staff are friendly, professional and respectful. Brendoncare, Stildon strive to provide an inclusive, warm and stimulating environment for which we are very grateful.
Thank you so much for taking the time out to leave us such a kind review, it was our pleasure having your mother here with us at Stildon.
All the carers in this home are always helpful, happy and very caring. Nothing is too much to do for my dad. We can not thank them enough for all they do. I would highly recommend this top-class care home.
Thank you for your kind words and for taking the time out to write them; I am so glad that your dad has settled well at Stilton. We pride ourselves on a caring family feel. Staff enjoy looking after your dad; he is very much one of the Stildon family now.
On making my initial telephone call to Brendoncare Stildon almost nine months ago and hearing a gentle caring voice, I felt comfortable. Questions were answered regarding respite care. Three months later when I was really in need of help and advice regarding my husband's care, that is exactly what I got once again from the person answering the telephone. My daughters and I were invited to visit, we could see the care being given. Within a week, my husband was in Stildon and everything was done to make him comfortable and help him settle in. I feel so blessed to have him being cared for by the devoted staff and I must add the chef serves delicious meals.
Thank you for your very kind comments. I am so glad that your husband is settled and that you feel he is receiving the best of care. We aim to provide a comfortable, family environment where everyone feels free to ask questions and be supported. Your lovely review validates this for everyone. I will of course pass on your lovely comments to all the staff, especially the chef.
My Mum has been a resident at Stildon for well over a year. When she arrived she was very frail, could hardly walk and was very down and sad. With the support and care from the nurses and carers she has gained weight, is able to walk really well and is very happy and content with her life at Stildon. It makes me so happy that my Mum is safe and being well looked after. She enjoys all the activities and looks forward to meal times when she eats with all the other residents and enjoys conversations with them.
Thank you for the lovely review. We are so glad we have added such positivity and independence to your mum’s life. Your mum is an integral part of our Stildon family and is loved by everyone.
My mother has been a resident of Stildon for over six years. From the first day, the staff have been welcoming and professional in their care and support. This was particularly noticeable during the pandemic where they worked tirelessly to keep the residents safe under extreme pressure. Our visits were always enjoyable and we were made to feel like one of the family throughout our mother's stay.
Your mother was a kind and stoic person, who was very much loved and a part of our Stildon family.
Take care.
Very happy with the way my uncle was looked after in his final months. He was in the best place possible, with very caring staff.
Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to look after your uncle. He was a very well-known East Grinstead man, with a wealth of talent, a privilege really. Wishing you all the best.
When we were reviewing nursing homes for my mum, we were told by the nursing home manager, "We may not have a red carpet, but we offer red carpet service". Never was there a truer word spoken. A warm and relaxed atmosphere where the nursing staff are patient, courteous and go above and beyond. The care home took the time to get to know Mum's interests, likes and dislikes to make her stay much more enjoyable. My mum resided here for thirteen months and during that time we knew she was safe, secure and treated with respect. Seeing her eyes light up when she heard a nurse's voice at the door or hearing the laughter coming from her room when we turned the corner, means so much when you have had to make that decision for a 'hotel with help' for your mum. When the weather permits, the outdoor garden is a great meeting place. Mum loved it there, so thank you team Brendoncare, keep up the amazing work! The song simply the best, sums up Brendoncare, Stildon.
Your lovely mum quickly became part of the Stildon family. She was great fun and we all loved caring for her. It was also marvellous to get to know and support you all as a family. Thank you, for the wonderful review, it means so much to us all.
This is a beautiful care home run by kind and caring people and when my mum became ill earlier this year, we knew it was the right choice, as it had been for my grandmother in 2010. I would like to thank the team who always run the extra mile to make Stildon what it is and to offer dignity and support to their residents. I would thoroughly recommend this care home.
Thank you for your wonderful review. It was a hard time for your family and I am so glad we were there for all of you.
An amazing care home where the staff go above and beyond to make their residents feel at home. My father resided here for six months and the care he was given was outstanding. We, as a family were kept up to date and made to feel very welcome. My father was really happy here.
Thank you for your wonderful review. It was such a pleasure to get to know your dad, I would often take a walk with him. It was a pleasure for our team to take care of your dad and support you as a family. Take care.
My dad was only at Stildon for a few months until he sadly passed away. The staff were absolutely fantastic. So caring and happy. My dad was very happy and was always praising everyone every time we visited. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I cannot praise the staff enough. They care as if every resident is their own family. Just wish we had discovered Stildon earlier.
Thank you so much for your lovely review. Your dad was a real gentleman. It was a pleasure for all of us to care for him. All the best to you and your family.
My dad’s stay at Stildon was relatively short, but while he was there I was very happy with the care he received. The staff showed him care, respect and kindness, were always available to answer our questions and keen to know more about him, so that they could communicate with him about his life. His room, which was newly decorated, was comfortable and always clean. The food always looked tasty and I remember sharing a very good chocolate cake with him. Sadly Dad passed away, but the staff all treated him with dignity and respect during that time and also had time for me. I am very grateful that his final months were spent at Stildon, as all the staff make it a very kind and happy place.
Thank you for your lovely review. Your dad was a real gentleman. I am so glad our team were able to make a positive difference to him during his time with us. Take care and thank you again.
I can't fault the willingness of all the staff at Stildon to please. The residents and visitors are always treated with respect, dignity and a good shovelful of kindness. The building is well designed with the nurse's stations and services in the centre of a "roundabout" of rooms over two floors. No one room is cut-off in this scenario and all staff, from the bottom to the top, were always passing Mum's door to smile, wave and generally keep an eye on her. My mum was infirm and suffering from dementia. She went into Stildon three years ago. I was worried about admitting her, but she was made so very welcome and had a lovely room with a door into a garden, that she quickly told me "I like it here". At first, she was well enough to spend time in the communal areas which she loved. As her health failed, she needed more nursing care which I found to be exemplary. Sadly, she has passed away now but that aspect of her residency was handled with the utmost respect and kindness for us both too.
Thank you for your very kind review. Looking after your mum was a joy; she was very much one of the Stildon family and will be missed.

Meet the Team (5)
I have almost 20 years of experience in the care sector, starting out as a support worker and progressing to Registered Manager. I bring a wealth of hands-on expertise and leadership to Brendoncare Stildon. My journey has been driven by a deep commitment to delivering exceptional person-centred care, fostering team development and ensuring residents live with dignity and purpose.
Having managed diverse services including nursing homes, supported living and reablement services, I am passionate about embracing innovative care practices while maintaining the values at the heart of Brendoncare. I strive to create a warm, welcoming environment where both residents and staff feel valued and supported.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through regular gym sessions and bike rides, which help me maintain focus and energy in my professional life. I am thrilled to join the Brendoncare community and look forward to building on its reputation of excellent care.
I have been working in care for the last 20yrs. Initially I joined Brendoncare having been recruited from South Africa in 2004. I worked as registered nurse and later as team leader until 2010 when I left to became a registered manager of a Care Home in Crowborough, East Sussex.
In December 2021, I rejoined Brendoncare Stildon as deputy manager as I knew the home to be very homely and friendly. People here go out of their way to help and support residents, relatives and colleagues.
I am married and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. I enjoy spending time with my family and walking my dogs.
I joined Stildon in June 2022 as the Receptionist and moved to the Administrator role in 2023, this is my first experience of working in a nursing home and I love the relationships that we have as a team with both the residents and relatives.
Working for a charity and answering to trustees rather than shareholders means that decisions are made with the residents’ best interests at heart. Sharing our Care for Life promise with prospective residents and families puts them at ease and they can relax knowing that their loved one will get the best of care for the rest of their life.
Outside work, I enjoy reading, paper crafts, listening to music, art and spending time with my family including my two grown up daughters.
I joined Brendoncare Stildon in 2023. It was a total change to my working career as I’d only known the inside of an office before, so to be put at the forefront of the home meeting and greeting all our visitors has been a great change. If I’d have known what a positive step this was going to be, I would have done it sooner.
I’ve been married for 45 years and have two grown-up children and 5 grandchildren. We love spending time as a family creating memories - going on beach outings, holidays abroad, cinema and bowling, to name but a few. My husband and I also enjoy going to the theatre and football, be it premiership or supporting the local town team.
Prior to joining Brendoncare, I worked as a legal PA for several years in London. I later worked in a similar Activities role in Tonbridge Wells but wanted to work closer to home. I joined Brendoncare in August 2023. I can honestly say that, compared to the office-based roles I’ve had (as interesting as they were), this is the best job I’ve had as it’s more person-centred and I much prefer to be working with people rather than paper!
In my spare time, I get involved in amateur dramatics including doing panto. I also enjoy dancing and practice yoga and Pilates.
