This place was a total Godsend in the last weeks of my mother's life. The staff are friendly and caring and the managers are efficient and sympathetic. I can't recommend the place highly enough.

The staff of this care home quite simply care a lot about the residents - showing a huge amount of patience and understanding during some very testing times. The longer you get to know the staff the more you can understand the stress that they are under - long shifts which are very tiring especially.

Each and every member of staff, from the Manager to the domestic staff are always happy to see you - they make time to make you feel welcome like you are actually in the home of the individual (in my case my mum) you are visiting.

There is no doubt that in my mind that they are short staffed and the home will always need more maintenance than the staff and probably their budget can manage.

That said, they have given my mum a far better quality of life than I could possibly have done - she has had her moments of being difficult but you wouldn't know it from the reaction of the staff.

Quite simply, I believe they are really special.

Thank you very much for this positive review.

We are happy to say we have recruited a huge amount of staff who have successfully commenced their employment at St Georges Court and have made a big difference to the lives of the people living here.

One of the nice things about St Georges Court in Cambridge is that the resident can have his or her own furniture and pictures in their room so there can be at least a small link with their former home. He or she can also eat in their room if they wish. On the other hand, residents are encouraged to enjoy the very varied choice of activities. These range from films, exercises, art, pottery, quizzes and games. It is certainly an advantage that the home is big enough to support a dedicated activities manager.

Finding local places to go out to is quite easy because a high street which has lots of eating places and shops is just at the end of the road. There is also the beautiful Botanic Gardens close enough to walk to (or wheelchair to). The gardens make a green and restful place to visit and even have warm greenhouses to retreat to on a cold day.
