The home was clean, welcoming, and had a warm, family-like atmosphere. It was wonderful to see my Nan happy, well cared for, and enjoying the activities provided. The staff always kept us informed, which gave our whole family peace of mind.
Hunter's Down is more than just a care home, it's a place where residents are treated with dignity, respect, and genuine warmth. I'm so grateful for the love and support they gave my Nan, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one.
Thank you to the amazing team!
Thank you for your kind words! It was truly a pleasure to care for your Nan.
My wife was a resident for 7 years and received excellent care all that time, so did my family and I when visiting.
My mother has been in Hunters Down Care Home for just over a year now, it took a while for her to settle in but the staff have been very good in helping her settle in. The food is excellent, staff are always friendly.
A wonderful Home which makes relatives feel most welcome and inclusive.
Thank you.
I really like it at Hunters Down because everyone is a good caring person. There are lots of activities for everyone to join in. I join most of them. We do keep fit and we often dance. The meals are good and plenty of choice offered. If you don't like something they will offer you something else.
Thank you so much for your review. It is heartwarming to hear such positive comments from someone who lives at Hunters. I will ensure your feedback is shared with the team.
My father spent his last days at Hunters Down, he was treated with great care and respect. The Manager and all the other staff were so very kind to us. We would highly recommend it. Lovely clean home that smells fresh, well done to all the team at Hunters Down.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review on the care and respect given to your father in his last days by the team at Hunters. I will ensure your comments are shared with the team in recognition of the great care provided by them.
Following a fall and operation on a broken hip, my mother was transferred from the hospital to Hunters Down Care in July 2022. From her arrival, the care she has received has been exemplary. There have been periods when her health has given cause for great concern. However, in all circumstances, the staff have kept me fully informed discussing options and respectfully listening to my wishes. Her well-being and quality of life have been enhanced with the daily care she receives. The food is excellent and has encouraged her to eat better. On two occasions I have requested meals for visiting family members and these were also very good. It was a welcome bonus to be able to book the small dining room available for these visits enabling us to have a private space. There is also a wonderful range of daily activities for the residents; all of which contribute to the joyful atmosphere. I feel blessed and am incredibly grateful for the dedicated care my 98-year-old mother receives.
Thank you for taking the time to complete a review for Hunters Down and acknowledging the wonderful care provided by the team to your mother. We will ensure your kind words are forwarded to the team in recognition of their dedication to your mother and all of the people we care for here.
My dad spent the last nine months of his life at Hunters Down where he was given outstanding care, patience, kindness and respect by all the staff. The staff knew him well and truly made it his home and family. In his final days, as he died at Hunters Down, the staff showed such compassion and care both to him and to my family. I can't thank them enough.
The care my dad has received has been the best. Couldn't ask for any better. My dad enjoys their company and we have found that everybody is so friendly and caring, couldn't ask for better.
Thank you for your glowing review of Hunters Down care home. We are pleased your dad is happy at the home.
The staff were always friendly and caring and his face would light up when they came in his room.
We were very lucky to have had him placed in Hunters Down and would not hesitate to recommend their services.
Thank you so much for your review of Hunters Down. We are pleased to hear that you would recommend the home to others.
Having visited the care home recently I am extremely impressed with the very warm welcome and how each member of the community greets you. The facilities are superb for the people in care, with large spacious rooms, a varied menu. Everyone appears to be working as a team for the benefit of the person in care. It is a pleasure to visit her, thank you.
Thank you for your review of Hunters Down Care Home. It is great to hear you are so impressed with the home!
I would like to thank them for all that they did for him and for the laughter.
I will miss you all.
A wonderful Care Home. It is friendly and well-managed with very caring and professional staff in all departments. Hunters Down cared for my bedridden Mum during the last year of her life and did an outstanding job. Their end of life care was exceptional - supportive, compassionate and respectful of Mum's wishes. Our family will be forever grateful. Thank you.
My mother was at Hunters Down Care Home a year, she was always treated with respect and dignity. I would like to thank all the staff for their kindness.
Hunters Down is strongly and empathetically led by a great home manager and specifically on Pepys Unit by a caring and consistent Nursing Team supported by a familiar and friendly caring team.
Thank you all at Hunters Down for your care in the last few months; we couldn't have chosen a better Care Home.
He has got involved with a number of activities and quickly felt part of a community. Food is good too.
Hunters Down Care Home is the light at the end of the tunnel for myself and more especially my Mum who, after several falls culminating in a fractured hip, was finally assessed to need 24 hour care. Initially, my mum’s needs were not recognised and I had personally contacted Hunters Down with the possibility of respite. From my first visit to view this lovely care home until my mum was finally transferred, the staff have been caring, friendly and professional. I was relieved when she arrived here, she has a beautiful, sunny room of a very high standard with quality furniture and absolutely spotless at all times. My mum is treated with dignity, respect and could not be better looked after. It is a relief to us that we can rest easy knowing she could not be in a better place. Thank you to all of the Hunters Down team.
My family and I were always warmly welcomed and felt part of the Hunters Down Care Home family.
Sadly his health worsened in December and he passed away on the 17th and the end of life care for him and me was exceptional. We as a family cannot thank all of the staff enough.
My Father was a resident during December following admission for dementia and end-of-life care. His stay, although short, ensured he was cared for by an amazing and dedicated team who not only cared for him but also excelled in keeping the family up to date with his condition throughout. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough. I have worked in the care industry myself and the level of care and compassion for my father by the staff will remain with both myself and my family for a long time.
All members of staff were caring, understanding and attentive to all her needs, whilst at the same time respectful.
On the morning our mother passed away the nurses and care assistants were unbelievably kind and supportive to us, we were so pleased she was at Hunters Down, where she was treated with the utmost care and dignity.
We highly recommend this care home and thank the manager for always spending time in her busy day, to make sure everything was okay.
The welcoming reception staff, and to the nurses, care assistants and ancillary staff.
A truly dedicated team.
Thank you.
