Since my husband has been in the care home, he has been looked after extremely well, with dignity and respect for his needs. The carers, even when very busy, they always have time for the residents and give them reassurance, especially in times of distress. On the 25th of November, my husband had a wee hiccup with his health, and with the quick response of nurses and carers, he was able to return to the care home from the hospital. It made me realise how important qualified care is to him. Thank you.

The markas attached are an indicator of how happy I am to have been able to place my cousin in the Hunters Down Care Home. In only a very short time her attitude has altered to that of comfort and contentment, and above all "the food here is brilliant" is a comment I always get when I visit.

From the day my Dad moved into Hunters Down he was very well looked after. The staff are all so friendly and not only took care of my Dad's needs and wellbeing but put my mind at rest too. Everyone is so welcoming and they gave Dad the best care whilst he was there. All of the nursing team are great also and you can see they really care about the residents. In my Dad's last days and hours they ensured he was treated with dignity and respect. I will be forever grateful for the care they offered Dad, it means the world to me. Thank you to Hunters Down for everything you've done.

My uncle received exceptional care until he recently passed away. The support during his last days was second to none. I couldn't fault any of the girls as they all made him feel comfortable and pain-free as far as we could see. We visited most days and always found the staff to be helpful and caring even when busy.

After he died the funeral directors told us that the staff all lined up to see him off while playing some very appropriate music. It was comforting for us to know that my uncle was being treated with so much dignity even in death.

Dad was in respite for a while. He was placed into Hunters Down Care Home by the hospital in their nursing unit. He loved the care staff and the nurses. They kept me informed of all changes and when the care was arranged for him to return home, he wasn't ready to leave. The home looked clean and everyone I've had contact with seemed nice and caring. Dad told me that he will want to go to Hunters Down Care Home when the time comes to move into a care home.

Think Hunters Down Care Home is very caring and very friendly. My mother seems very comfortable here, they always include her in all the activities that are on and hardly left in her room alone, so I, her son, os very pleased with the home, again with all the staff throughout and would recommend Hunters Down.

My father-in-law had to go straight from the hospital to Hunters Down Care Home. We were kept fully informed as to what was happening and when he had arrived.

When I visited the home I was immediately impressed by the professional, courteous and pleasant way I was received. His room is large, well laid out and superbly equipped. Every member of staff from the receptionist, nurses and service staff were welcoming and you felt he was in safe hands. I would not hesitate in recommending Hunters Down Care Home as a choice to care for your loved ones.

From the very first day my mother in law moved into Hunters Down Care Home the care, understanding, kindness and friendliness of everyone who works there is wonderful. Always there to talk to, we have made so many friends we couldn't have put her in a better place. There has been a lot of changes to her health in the time she's been there. All staff have been very supportive and understanding always keeping us up to date with everything. If anyone is anxious about putting their loved ones in this home have no worries. The care is first class, the manager is a first-class manager, and easy to talk to.

My mum went into care at Hunters Down earlier this year with dementia and I have to say it was the best move for her. She had been sad for a very long time but within 2 months of going into Hunters Down I saw the spark back in her eyes and a smile on her face. She said it’s like being in a hotel on holiday and they spoil her rotten. The staff are wonderful with her ups and downs and don’t just care for my mum but also care for me when I visit her on one of her bad days and it helps tremendously to see her enjoying singing with the other residents on their social media every week.

My dad came to Hunters Down after spending 4 months in a different care home which he was placed in straight from hospital. The change in him is amazing, he looks so much better and happier. The home has far more going on than his previous one and all the staff have been so helpful and kind in settling him in. Nothing is too much trouble and there is always a calm, well-managed atmosphere around the home whenever we visit.

The home was opened some weeks ago and I am very grateful that I can now see my wife daily albeit for only an hour. I hope this time will be extended in due course if the pandemic allows. Management has assured me that the current hour visit is in the best interests of the residents so I am content with a little being better than nothing. On the subject of management, I have some sympathy with the fact that she and the pandemic arrived almost simultaneously. She is easy to communicate with and listens to niggling problems e.g. I have reservations about one maybe two members of staff. In this respect, she advised I should contact her immediately.
