My dad came here in July 2025. He is so much better now. We have dinner at 5 PM with my dad, we have a table of 5 people between 93 and 97 years old. The table was for 4 people, but when Richard joined us, they made up a table for 6 people, including me, on a Wednesday. All the staff are very good and friendly. The building is very well laid out. Dad says, "It feels like a five star hotel! He used to have a modest breakfast, but now he has a full English breakfast every day. He has made lots of friends among the staff as well as other service users.

PS Dad said the other day, "I'm going to get to 100" - he never said that before.

It's wonderful to hear how well your dad has settled into Halsey House. Stories like this genuinely mean a lot to us. Knowing he's enjoying his meals, making friends, and feeling like he's living in a "five-star hotel" brings a smile to everyone here.

We're especially glad he feels so at home...

Very positive.
Residents feel genuinely cared for.
The food is fab.
The daily entertainment is good fun. I'd stay there no problem! A well managed establisment.

Good maintenance needs to be supported by life cycle replacement, which is lacking at the moment.

My first impression of Halsey Hoyse when initially phoning, then visiting to view on behalf of my mum, was how helpful and kind the administration staff were. The building itself was spacious and clean, and I was impressed with the various communal rooms and the main dining room.

During the four months that mum was a resident, I was happy with the standard of care (although I sometimes felt that the carers were overloaded). The nursing staff, housekeeping and carers were all very kind and cheerful and did their best to make mum's last months as comfortable as they could. Her room was always kept clean and I was impressed with the standard of cleaning in the ensuite.

Excellent care. I work in elderly care & can recognise excellence in the field.

My only suggestion would be for staff to use "Hello, my name is" badges.

The home is imaculate, staff are very approachable and caring towards residents. When I have had any concerns the issues have been dealth with satisfactorily. Visitors to my father are always very impressed & say 'I would like to live here'. I am very pleased with the freedom & autonomy residents are allowed. It was perfect that Halsey House provided food & drink and a room for Dads birthday party & he was able to invite his friends & relatives.

Mum went to Halsey for 3 weeks of respite.

All of our dealings with the staff leading up to mum going in and when she was there, were really good.

She has since told me she wouldn't hesitate to go back for more respite another time, or if the situation should arise that she needs full time care, she has said Halsey House is where she would like to go.

My wonderful husband was cared for by the Team at Halsey House. He passed away peacefully with me present. The staff were sensitive and caring. I was treated with the utmost respect. They made sure my most treasured man was comfortable until the end. I can not thank them enough for how they looked after me, making sure I ate, giving me access to a shower, and comforting me through the day and evening. A few tears were shed by the professional staff, which goes to show how much they care.

Wonderful care home in every way. I cannot wish for any better home for my mum to stay, from the first day she arrived, the staff are amazing and care very much about the residents.
Halsey house is a wonderful home, with a lovely atmosphere. The building is spacious, with a lot of character, and kept extremely clean. As soon as you enter Halsey, you know the home is very well managed and offers a calm and caring environment.
The rooms are an excellent size, with a specious bathroom, have a nice garden view and cleaned every day.
The care team are excellent, and I am so impressed with the job they do. Really nice genuine and caring people who all give that something extra to make the residents comfortable

When its my time for a care home, I hope I can come to Halsey !!

This is a beautiful home especially the dementia unit where it is so peaceful and calm setting. The residents are cared for and so lovely to talk to them. Carers are so patient and caring always have time to talk with a smile.

The home is home from home. Fantastic manager who manages well always having time to speak to residents and staff alike. She has an open door policy for staff to be able to air their views and is there to listen and to care whatever their reasons. A very well-run home that we are so lucky to have.

My dad has been in Danbury Lodge for nearly a year and he has received excellent care throughout. The carers are so kind and considerate, always giving Dad his dignity. They are always trying to make him as comfortable as possible particularly now that he is chair/bed-bound. I would definitely recommend Danbury Lodge to anyone that is ex-service. I am always kept informed of Dad’s care and anything that may affect him. My mum is very happy that Dad is in a place that he feels at home which has made the decision for long-term care an easier one.

My mother was a resident for many years. Sadly she passed away last September. The staff were utterly amazing, and the care given was exceptional. Care for both my mother and her children.

During her final hours staff were with her 24/7. All staff work incredibly hard and show so much empathy.

I have always found the home inviting to all family members, especially our grandchildren. Our family member has become increasingly difficult and unwell but has always been treated with dignity and respect with everyone giving their best to interact and include her in every aspect of life in Halsey.
I am always informed of ongoing health issues and what has been decided with health professionals and treatments.
Residents rooms are light, airy and en-suite. There is room for little bits from home to make it personal and homely.
There is a programme of activities for everyone and entertainment with outside entertainers just about every week. Activities staff always encourage residents to take part in anything planned and even have manicure sessions which our family member loves.

I can honestly say it’s a fabulous place and am very happy that our family member is here.

My grandmother has been at Halsey House for a number of years and has recently moved to their dementia specialist care. I was nervous about how she would react to the move, but it was done so carefully that we didn't think that she even noticed. When we came for our first visit to her new space, it was wonderful. I have never been to such a warm and welcoming space! Great care and attention have been paid to the decor and arrangements there so that it does not feel like a 'secure' unit, but does feel safe.

Since moving to Halsey House, she has become more sociable and comfortable, which was happening less and less in the main part of the home because of her specialist needs. We were able to visit with my young son and it was like we had taken her out to lunch, even though we were at Halsey. The carers who work with her, the site team, and the receptionists and admin staff can't do enough to support her and us when we visit, especially since we are a considerable distance away.

Halsey House seems to me to be a care home in actuality and not only in name. For over six years I have regularly visited a dear friend whose home is now with you.
