Halsey House is situated in the popular seaside resort of Cromer on the beautiful north Norfolk coast. The elegant old building is a great welcome for residents and guests alike. Cromer is famous for its Victorian pier, which is one of the only piers in the country to still host its own theatre show every summer and winter season. Halsey House also arranges minibus and coach trips to local attractions, including local theatre productions, Lowestoft Air Show, and the shops of Cromer and Norwich.

Coming to live at Halsey House is a new chapter in your life, a new address full of possibilities. You’ll share a common bond with other residents, who each have their own story to tell. Halsey House hope it will feel like a home from home, where you decide how you want to spend your day. They have 87 bedrooms, and provide nursing, residential and personal care, as well as specialist dementia care. They also provide day care, five days per week, within the dedicated day care unit. Their highly trained and skilled staff team put their residents at the core of everything they do. They aim to make a positive difference to your life, in a friendly, caring and warm environment.

Quality of life is important to Halsey House and they offer a variety of social events and outings in their two minibuses. They encourage their residents to go shopping, pursue hobbies and attend clubs. They also make sure there’s plenty to do for residents, including indoor bowls, bingo, tea dances and crafts. On some Sunday afternoons a visiting chaplain holds a religious service in the main lounge.

They also have a visiting hairdresser and barber. In the dining room, they offer a varied menu to suit all tastes as well as special diets. In addition, there is a licensed bar where residents can socialise with family and friends. A variety of lounges are available, offering a comfortable and homely atmosphere.

My father is in the Danbury unit. The staff are enthusiastic and caring. There’s always plenty of activities and lots of effort to involve all the residents. Love the night staff in their pyjamas to make residents feel more at home.

A lovely Valentine's meal for residents and guests and I was made to feel very welcome. The tables were beautifully decorated and the food was delicious.

I have been delighted with the care and thoughtfulness of the staff who worked constantly to make me feel at home and people who were interested in my well-being. The food is good and varied, served with a smile and there is a lovely feeling that 'family' have not been lost.

Dad has been in the Danbury unit since August. I was obviously worried how Dad would adjust when we moved him there but he settled in immediately. The building itself is clean, bright and homely and always seems relaxed. The staff make the place though. There cheerfulness and relentless efforts of the
staff to improve the days of people, who have a variety of challenging conditions, is exemplary. It's nice to know Dad is well looked after and feels at home there.

What a lovely place! Halsey House really does exemplify what a care home can be with an emphasis on both 'care' and 'home'. It's a friendly place right from the reception onwards and it's so reassuring that everyone seems to know all the residents by name. My mum has been very positive about the meals
and the activities on offer. There is a family ethos here which really shines through and is a tribute to all the wonderful staff.

I have been here for 10 days and I am amazed at the wonderful care and support that has been given to me. The staff are wonderful, caring and truly wonderful. Halsey House is a remarkable place to spend the latter years of your life in. The food is wonderful, the place is spotless. If you have to ring
your bell, the carers are with you in seconds.

The care staff are kind, compassionate and supportive. They manage my dad's communication difficulties very well and they give him the extra time he often needs. The activities team are excellent, providing a wide range of activities and entertainment and the home celebrates all range of annual events
in creative and positive ways. The reception team are always welcoming, friendly and very helpful. The laundry team do a good job, they engage well with dad and are patient, attentive and responsive to his needs. In addition during lockdown, the head of laundry and housekeeping regularly filled up dad's bird feeders for us, a small gesture that made a big difference! She shares and promotes her interest in birds, wildlife and nature with dad and other residents in an inclusive and engaging way. This is just one example of what makes the home so good. So many in the home treat dad with kindness, understanding and respect, encouraging him to be involved and engaged in the life of the home.

Our mum is part of the Danbury family and it really is a family. She is treated with much care, love and dignity. There is always something going on either on Danbury or over in Halsey House, so her time is full. She loves playing table tennis and there is now a table for her to enjoy and has great
games with other residents and visitors. It was a heart-wrenching decision to choose residential care for Mum and the transition was tough but we are now so grateful that we chose Danbury for her.

My mum initially came here for residential care approximately 11 years ago. She is now in the Danbury unit, where the care is exemplary.
The whole team care about what they do and work tirelessly, taking care of the residents before themselves.
They interact and encourage engagement whilst offering
dignity. Visiting families are made to feel very welcome and feel part of the home.
I wouldn't want my mum anywhere else!

This is a wonderful "home from home", the atmosphere is so welcoming, I can visit whenever I want. It was with a heavy heart that I put my mum in a care home but the staff have surrounded her with care and love and I believe my mum has been happy, she certainly gets well looked after and loves all her
carers.

I can only talk for the Danbury unit at RBL Halsey but my mother has been there for a while now and is being cared for very well. Her room is spacious with generous en-suite toilet facilities, it is warm, clean and well maintained with any issues quickly dealt with by the maintenance team. We are always
offered a drink on arrival and have witnessed meal times where the food looks nutritious & tasty. There are hydration stations dotted around the home which can be used by anyone anytime and residents are encouraged to drink regularly. During the day the staff are usually found gathering residents into some form of daily activity keeping minds and bodies active. Staff often take them over to the main building for larger gatherings and dances etc. Overall having initially placed my mum in another local home we have found she has settled better at Halsey and that alone is a massive weight off our minds.

Mum moved to the Danbury unit in May. After a period of adjustment and feeling anxious and unsettled, Mum is very happy and is now settled. She is well cared for, enjoys the variety of activities. She eats well and says she loves it here.
We are very happy with the care she gets, the staff are lovely
and keep us well informed about Mum. Communication is good and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. We are so grateful for all they do and knowing mum is there and happy is a huge comfort to us.

My Dad has been a resident at Halsey House for 4 months. I have been so impressed by the staff (all who are friendly, professional and treat residents and family with fantastic care). The environment is lovely, with plenty of open areas to access including two dining areas, a bar, a chapel, a library
and several lounges. The daily activities are wonderful and very inclusive for all residents. The care my father gets with his personal activities of daily living is delivered with great personal care and support by all staff. I love that I can visit whenever and take my dog which adds such an extra layer of home from home feeling. I can also say my Dad's mood has improved significantly. Thank you all at Halsey House.

My friend has settled into Halsey House now after and initial trial period. She particularly enjoys the activities on offer eg: tai chi, carpet bowls and musical events.
She is well cared for with staff being friendly, compassionate and reliable. However, when visiting on a Saturday when no staff
at reception, I was buzzed in, I found out later that the home had COVID cases and I wasn't told.
