Halsey House is situated in the popular seaside resort of Cromer on the beautiful north Norfolk coast. The elegant old building is a great welcome for residents and guests alike. Cromer is famous for its Victorian pier, which is one of the only piers in the country to still host its own theatre show every summer and winter season. Halsey House also arranges minibus and coach trips to local attractions, including local theatre productions, Lowestoft Air Show, and the shops of Cromer and Norwich.

Coming to live at Halsey House is a new chapter in your life, a new address full of possibilities. You’ll share a common bond with other residents, who each have their own story to tell. Halsey House hope it will feel like a home from home, where you decide how you want to spend your day. They have 87 bedrooms, and provide nursing, residential and personal care, as well as specialist dementia care. They also provide day care, five days per week, within the dedicated day care unit. Their highly trained and skilled staff team put their residents at the core of everything they do. They aim to make a positive difference to your life, in a friendly, caring and warm environment.

Quality of life is important to Halsey House and they offer a variety of social events and outings in their two minibuses. They encourage their residents to go shopping, pursue hobbies and attend clubs. They also make sure there’s plenty to do for residents, including indoor bowls, bingo, tea dances and crafts. On some Sunday afternoons a visiting chaplain holds a religious service in the main lounge.

They also have a visiting hairdresser and barber. In the dining room, they offer a varied menu to suit all tastes as well as special diets. In addition, there is a licensed bar where residents can socialise with family and friends. A variety of lounges are available, offering a comfortable and homely atmosphere.

My sister and I are very pleased with the care which our mother receives at Halsey House, where she has been living for the last five years. The staff are very caring and mum is well looked after and happy. She is encouraged to join in the activities, especially art and singing, which she has always
enjoyed.

My father moved into the nursing ward of the Royal British Legion care home at Halsey House in August 2022.
I had visited the home previous to his becoming a resident and could see how good it was but it has surpassed my expectations. The staff have been amazing at settling my father in and it is
obvious in his contented manner.

My mother has been a resident here for over 5 years. She is overall very happy although boredom can be an issue now her mobility is less good. There could be a little more to do in the evening. She is always treated in a manner that maintains her dignity and there is plenty of activities daily. She
never complains about the food. Communication between myself and the home could be better. We are very pleased with the care Mum is given and I have no hesitation in recommending this home.

Over the last twelve months, this home has greatly improved in all aspects. It is now close to the excellent standard it has achieved previously. As we all care homes the most significant issue is recruiting staff and although this is an ongoing challenge. I am pleased to say all new recruits are excellent.
