I come to visit Meadow House quite often and unfortunately a few weeks ago I had a motorbike accident on the front of Meadow House. I was unconscious in the ditch. All the staff attended to me and my wife, and the nurses looked after me until the air ambulance came and took me to the hospital. To all the staff there I want to give my gratitude for what they did in that very stressful moment. I can't thank you enough.

Generally I think the place has improved a lot. I got disillusioned with it a year ago, but since the Manager has taken over the running of the home you can see a big difference. My sister has lots of time for the new Manager as she encourages her to do things, which is what she needs. She has been a lot happier in the last 6 months. The look of the place seems a lot cleaner too.

My clients were a married couple who both needed care and moved into Meadow House together. From the start they were treated with kindness and respect. The fact that they were married was taken into account and they were given rooms close to each other, one of which they used as a day room and the other as a bedroom, kitting the rooms out with a number of personal items to make them 'at home'.

After the wife died, they helped the husband through his grief, accompanying him to the funeral. His health deteriorated and much care and thought was given to sourcing suitable aids to make him comfortable. He was able to die 'at home'. I was kept informed throughout and cannot speak too highly of Meadow House.

My friend was clearly dying when I last visited. I arrived unannounced to find three people around the bed trying to make his last hours as comfortable as possible.

My cousin has been here since 2012 with M.S day to day activities are impossible for her. However with the excellent nursing staff and carers she is happy here, which undoubtedly is due to the kindness and professional manner of everyone around her. I am always treated like a friend and there is such a lovely atmosphere.

After visiting several homes, over the years I have found Meadow House to be the best of them all. That is why we brought my brother here. The staff and everyone here, there is a very kind atmosphere and I find people happy here.

I love coming here every Wednesday for day care the staff really look after me. I get a lot out of the physio department, its the only time i can have a stretch and stand up. This is so important to me as i'm in a wheelchair the rest of the time. The gardens are beautiful in the summer they look out over fields, i'm able to drive around them with ease, something that i do as soon as i arrive as i can't at home. My wife and i really appreciated this time every week here as it gives her a break and me some quality time with other residents. I wouldn't want to be without it!

I love it here. All the staff encourage me, all the staff show empathy. The food is lovely, I really enjoy the activities. My bedroom is wonderful. The staff are very caring and always at hand. If we achieve anything we are constantly encourages to keep going. Meadow House is my home and that makes me happy. When I used to come for respite I always felt this was a 2nd home. I'm pleased it is now my home.

I get on well with the staff they are helpful and kind. I enjoy the Spa bath where I can relax. I have a bird table outside my window and enjoy watching the birds and my lovely view. I'm able to join in the arts and crafts that I love. I would definitely recommend people to come here and give it a try, as I did and wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

My daughter was very poorly at Christmas and I can't tell you how well supported we were, in an extremely stressful situation. We were treated as friends, rather than a relative popping in. I can't thank them all enough. We feel we are part of the home, as well as my daughter.

This review was very sensitive as my husband was in the room and had an understanding of this meeting was for a long stay bed. It was handled sensitively for him and myself (as I got upset). My husbands needs are complex and he has a progressive deteriorating illness. All his needs were discussed separately and my husband involved in as much as possible. He has hearing but very little sight. Meadow House has supported us for 2 years in day care and respite. My husband knows staff and feels comfortable here with staff around who treat him kindly and with great empathy. Big thanks.

I was admitted as an emergency by social services to Meadow House. From the moment I arrived the staff have been amazing. It has been nice not to have to worry about anything, they have done everything for me. The nursing staff have given me real support and encouragement with my MS illness. After my respite here I feel more confident about going back to my home to look after my daughter. I would extremely recommend Meadow House for anyone to have care.

My partner has been at Meadow House since she was diagnosed with MS six years ago. I'm very happy with the home and how they look after her. I would not want her to be anywhere else. I live locally and can visit her everyday. The staff have helped me take her out and have made our lives easier.
