My husbands been in Overbury since February. Excellent staff. Manager has got some great ideas for the place. Everyone goes out of their way to say hello. Cannot fault the care my husband receives. I have worked myself in care homes for years. My husband has had respite in quite a lot over the years. I'm so happy I have found the permanent stay as this can be heartbreaking. I say this with ease the care is brilliant.

My husband is treated with care consideration and dignity by all the staff. I have received advise and wonderful support. All aspects of his care is discussed including any changes. I enjoyed being involved in celebrations for the Queens birthday. It was lovely to see all residents visitors and staff having a great time. It has a been a traumatic and difficult time for me having to see my husband going into residential care, but I feel lucky that he is in Overbury House. Many thanks to all the staff.

Brilliant stay for my wife, her first, much better than previous stays at other care homes. I will be most relaxed to spend time away knowing that my wife is going to be well cared for. As I am a husband, lone carer and my wife's problems give her a hard time with her meds/illnesses, so being well cared for when I am away is very important.

Very impressed with the support given both to my father as resident but also to my mother. The new manager is excellent and has introduced a number of great initiatives, we love the garden theme room and the table tennis! All the staff have been very reassuring and have been available to address any of our questions or concerns. The home has a lovely feel to it and nice gardens. Nothing is too much trouble and the manager encourages feedback from relatives in monthly meetings. This is a fantastic opportunity to understand plans for the future and we look forward to seeing these happen.

Was so pleased to see the Manager working on the floor. I saw her bathing another gentleman on the same floor as my wife. Staff seem happier now and the atmosphere and care has gone up in my opinion, its nice to see the staff led. I have noticed my wife is checked on and offered fluids more frequently than before.

Dad's room is in a quiet part of the home and he can come and go as he likes. A lift takes him down to the residents lounge. He has his own chair that reclines in his room and that is always clean and tidy. He likes to spend more time in his room so meals are brought to him. Dad is very happy and content and that is my main concern. The home now has a new manager and I look forward to seeing a more stable staff

My aunt and uncle have been in Overbury House for the last year, the rooms are very clean and well looked after. The staff at the home are very kind and caring. My aunt died two months ago in the home and the care she received was excellent. They helped my uncle get over her death and were very kind to me. My uncle is very happy there.

The staff have always shown my mother the upmost kindness, respect and dignity. They gave her a fantastic 100 birthday party, and allow us as a family to also celebrate in a private room back in March 2015. During her last few days they sat with her day and night when I couldn't be there. The undertaker even remarked on the level of care and dignity shown to her. I would also like to say the way they also looked after myself during mums last two days was wonderful and so full of care and understanding over busy house's staff are fantastic.

Alison Hilditch
Alison HilditchJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2020
Alison started working at Healthcare Homes on 15th June 2020. She has professional qualifications as follows; RGN, NVQ 5 in management and leadership, Dementia training, Level 3 in End of Life care.
Alison decided to work at Healthcare Homes as she had heard amazing things about them and how they are expanding their company and it was something she wanted to be a part of.
Prior to starting at Overbury House, Alison has been an RGN for 13 years and has worked in the health care settings for 25 years. She worked at a Nursing home in North Walsham where she was the manager for 2 years.
She believes to be good in her role she should have good leadership skills, be compassionate, caring, understanding, experienced in health care and have qualifications.
The favourite part of her working day is when the residents are up and around, looking happy and content.
The biggest professional challenge in her career to date was assisting my last home in receiving a good rating across the board. There have been many challenges as a home manager but with a good team, they can be overcome.
Her biggest career highlight to date was completing her nursing degree and working her way up to Home Manager.
The qualities she thinks make a good home manager are being open and honest, supporting residents and staff, ensuring the residents receive a high standard of care.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her family. Her favourite past time is taking her two children and dog to the beach.

The things she is looking forward to the most about working at Overbury House is getting to know the residents and their families, ensuring all residents receive the best care and achieving a CQC rating of outstanding as I feel Overbury deserves it.

Carol Boyles
Carol BoylesJob Title:Deputy Manager
Prior to working at Overbury House, I was a Senior Care Assistant at a nursing and residential care home with dementia.
My biggest career highlight was the recognition of hard work and dedication and being promoted to Deputy Manager.

I enjoy all of my working day; the most rewarding part is being able to make a resident smile. I enjoy the day to day challenges of the job. Being able to make a difference to a resident’s day is most rewarding.
