My husband has been at Overbury House one year tomorrow. I am so happy that he is in such a lovely home. Every member of the staff treats him with kindness and respect. He is so well cared for and he is safe. I have nothing but good things to say about Overbury House; they always go the extra mile. Well done!
Thank you for your lovely comments, this means a lot to myself and the team, especially in these difficult times.
Outstanding management, excellent communication on Covid and updates on residents. The kindness of staff to resident and myself during difficult times. A very good nursing home. Special meals were prepared by the chef to tempt residents to eat. I felt my husband was safe and really well cared for as a stroke victim with dementia. I cannot thank the whole team enough.
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. it was a pleasure to look after him.
It seems to be a nice place - clean and tidy with nice views. I will see more another time. I always did like Wroxham.
Thank you for taking the time to review our service and your feedback for the team here.
Two friends, a husband and wife, have been residents for more than six weeks and they are both very happy there. I find the staff very helpful and friendly and nothing seems to be too much trouble.
Thank you for your feedback, it is wonderful for the team to know their hard work is making a difference.
Care staff are amazing, always jolly and sensitive to their residents. They treat them with dignity and maturely. There is always sufficient staff around and they're always on hand to answer questions/ assist if we need anything. They are always willing to join in with activities and help entertain the residents.
I'm always struck by how much of a family feel the residential home as. My children (3 and 2-year-old) feel at ease and you can clearly see our presence is very much welcomed by residents and staff alike.
We are always overwhelmed by the generosity towards us and the refreshments that are made available to visitors.
A lovely place with a caring and jolly atmosphere. So much brilliant work goes on there and it's clear that the staff enjoy the company of their residents as well as each other.
Thank you for your review, we love our little visitors and look forward to their visits!
Overbury House was just excellent in the way they cared for my mother-in-law throughout the closing months of her life. Caring, thoughtful and thoroughly professional, right up to the end.
Thank you for your kind review. We truly care about everyone that lives with us and strive to provide a homely and caring home. Please don't forget you are always welcome to pop in for a cup of tea.
My mother entered the home with a certain degree of reluctance after a series of severe seizures had left us unable to care for her. We were so relieved and comforted by the warm atmosphere, the caring staff and professional nursing team. We could not have wished for more.
Thank you for your review. It means a great deal to the whole team here to have received this feedback. Although it was a short time that we knew Mum, she will be greatly missed.
The staff know my dad well and have a good rapport with him. They have always been welcoming and responsive. Activities are offered and events marked in a bright and friendly manner.
Recent redecoration has given the home a fresh look and there are some thoughtful touches to add interest for residents and visitors.
Thank you for your review. It means a lot to us that we are making each and every person who live here feel safe and part of our family. Dad brings a smile to our faces with his wonderful singing so he plays a very important part in creating a cheerful environment.
We are very happy that our friend is being looked after so well. All the residents look happy and well cared for. The decoration works that have been going on, have really made a difference - I'm sure a lot of hard work's been done. Well done. Please keep up the good work!
It's wonderful for our team to receive feedback on what we are doing and really motivates us all to know we are getting it right. Thank you for your wonderful review.
I have visited my friend here for a number of years and have never had reason to question anything regarding her welfare. The recent renovations are very impressive.
Thank you for taking the time to review our home, we are really pleased that our redecoration has not only been enjoyed by our staff and residents but also by visitors.
I have always found Overbury House very caring. Carers are very patient and good-humoured.
Thank you for your review, we all work very hard at Overbury to provide a happy home for those living here and take great pride in making each day a positive experience. This kind comment will be shared with the whole team.
My dad was at Overbury for the last two and a half years. The care he had while he was there was outstanding, they treated him with love and respect and he was like a grandad to them all. They loved his cheeky smile and they did so much for him, I can't thank them enough, he loved being there. When he was able he joined in the activities, loved dancing especially with the female carers. The food was fantastic the chef would always go above and beyond to cook anything up whatever my dad wanted and towards the end of his life, me and my sister stayed at the home for 9 nights where we were looked after so well. Couldn't thank the staff enough. It is very hard work and they don't get the credit they truly deserve. I certainly would recommend this home and will pop in as have made some good friends. Thank you, Overbury, for doing such a great job caring for my dad.
Thank you for your kind words, these have been passed on to the whole team here. We all care about those who live with us here at Overbury and treat every one how we would want our loved ones cared for. We all miss dad and hope that you will still pop in to see us when you are passing by.
Our mother recently passed away at Overbury House. As you can imagine it was a stressful and sad event but all your staff were excellent and very professional at all times, (before, during and after). Mother was at Overbury House for four-plus years and was well looked after at all times.
My father and I arrived today to visit his wife my mother. The staff were all busy as usual, however, they still took the time to speak to the individual residents including my mum. The ask if the individual is alright by name and if they need anything. Although staff must be feeling somewhat deflated by the recent CQC report they still carry on in a pleasant and caring positive manner. There have been significant improvements in staff relations and I feel that CQC did not account for this at their inspection.
Providing a happy and safe environment that we would want of our loved ones is what we are all striving towards and it is wonderful to have received such a positive review that acknowledges the hard work, dedication and caring nature of the whole team here at Overbury.
When I came to visit my mum today, the summer fete was happening in the garden. The staff had put in so much thought and preparation, to make the day a lovely event for the residents and visitors, colourful bunting and streamers flowing from the trees, live music with an extremely talented singer and well-known songs (gentle but upbeat, some from the past, all positive and melodic), staff participating to ensure the residents were happy, delicious cakes, BBQ and games. Thank you.
My aunt has been in Overbury House for just over a year now. All the staff including the very supportive manager have been extremely kind and loving towards my aunt. I cannot fault a thing and feel extremely fortunate to have found such a superb home. We are however very sad that the manager is leaving and hope that his legacy will be carried on by the new manager.
The staff go out of their way to make us feel welcome when we visit. I can't praise or thank everyone enough.
Great respect and gentleness were shown at all times both to him and his family.
He is now holding his own and much better but we all feel he really 'belongs' now.
On my visit to see my husband this morning I was over the moon. The atmosphere was a very happy one, carers were busy doing Christmas trimmings and having happy times, joining in with the carols and encouraging the residents too. I have said this before but I still feel the same - that, if I have to go into a care home, Overbury House is where I want to be. It just becomes better and better. All the staff, the chef, our activities lady and the cleaners are excellent - happy, smiling and so friendly and ace new Manager.
Mum passed away peacefully at Overbury House in Wroxham in June this year. She had been resident at Overbury for 2 years. Mum always loved the sing-a-long with the activities lady and even when she lost her voice, in her latter days, she used to clap and join in. I will never forget mums last days and the personal service afforded to us by the lovely new manager and the nurses and all the staff at the home. They are all a credit to the care industry and I already miss them all dearly. On the sad (but expected) night we lost, the manager called us personally and met us at the home in the early hours to break the sad news himself. From her first day at the home to her very last, mum loved being at Overbury House and we couldn't have been happier. Thank you to everybody there for your years of friendship and love.

Meet the Team (2)

Alison decided to work at Healthcare Homes as she had heard amazing things about them and how they are expanding their company and it was something she wanted to be a part of.
Prior to starting at Overbury House, Alison has been an RGN for 13 years and has worked in the health care settings for 25 years. She worked at a Nursing home in North Walsham where she was the manager for 2 years.
She believes to be good in her role she should have good leadership skills, be compassionate, caring, understanding, experienced in health care and have qualifications.
The favourite part of her working day is when the residents are up and around, looking happy and content.
The biggest professional challenge in her career to date was assisting my last home in receiving a good rating across the board. There have been many challenges as a home manager but with a good team, they can be overcome.
Her biggest career highlight to date was completing her nursing degree and working her way up to Home Manager.
The qualities she thinks make a good home manager are being open and honest, supporting residents and staff, ensuring the residents receive a high standard of care.
Outside of work she loves spending time with her family. Her favourite past time is taking her two children and dog to the beach.
The things she is looking forward to the most about working at Overbury House is getting to know the residents and their families, ensuring all residents receive the best care and achieving a CQC rating of outstanding as I feel Overbury deserves it.

My biggest career highlight was the recognition of hard work and dedication and being promoted to Deputy Manager.
I enjoy all of my working day; the most rewarding part is being able to make a resident smile. I enjoy the day to day challenges of the job. Being able to make a difference to a resident’s day is most rewarding.
