My mum was a resident for over 6 years until she passed away in August and throughout this time she received the most compassionate, attentive, fun-filled care that I could have wished for. She had dementia which, as time went on, progressed to a level where she was immobile, virtually blind and, for most of the time, unable to communicate but this did not stop the carers from constantly talking to her, holding her hand, cuddling her, singing to her as well as all the routine cleaning and feeding caregiving. To me, the epitome of a perfect carer is when a resident, who so rarely showed emotion, kissed her arm and she had to leave the room to compose herself because that gesture meant so very much to her. I have nothing but praise for everybody at the home, not only while Mum was there but also the support I have had since her death.

I am sorry you feel this way. Since January this year we experienced an outbreak of COVID 19 and our occupancy numbers reduced. Since then the home has increased its occupancy and dependency levels of the residents have been reviewed, in anticipation of each admission and then staffing levels increased accordingly. This ensures we always have an adequate number of staff on duty. The staffing levels are the same 7 days a week and do not change in any way at weekends. Throughout the pandemic, I sent weekly emails to all families with updates about the home and the residents. This has decreased in frequency now that we have been able to resume visiting. My door is always open and am happy to chat to relatives in person, by phone or by email, as I do with yourself; we also hold regular resident and relative meetings. As a company we always place the safety of our residents first and should we need to bring in agency staff to ensure staffing levels are appropriate, then we will do so.
Woodland Care Home provides a very caring and professional environment. My mother is being well looked after and is very happy there.

Always found the atmosphere in the home very positive and upbeat. Saw residents being well supported with time being given to them, to listen to them and to find solutions for their needs. I felt the decor of relatives room was modern and bright. We were long-distance visitors and are always...
My thoughts and prayers have been with the home during this very challenging year.

My mum has now reached the late stage of dementia. The manager has been tremendous in supporting me through this extremely difficult period. Also, every member of the team at Woodlands has shown me such kindness, support and more importantly, exceptional care for my mum, which obviously means so much to me. They ask me, have I had a drink, food etc to ensure that I'm looking after myself too. Woodlands is a family who all work together in supporting each other whilst giving exceptional care, love, kindness and support to the people who live there. I think the manager and team make it a lovely home for residents and staff.

My brother lived in Woodland for just over 2 years. He recently had a couple of stays in the hospital as he had learning difficulties and communication problems, which was always a concern. The manager drew up a bullet point list which clearly stated his needs and how best to communicate with him. This was put in a clear sleeve and put in his medication bag. The hospital staff said it was so useful. This was such an incredible relief to me and so supportive to my brother. The whole team at Woodland has always endeavored to meet my brother's individual needs and supported him to live a fulfilling and happy life. Their care for him has been exemplary.
If I needed this type of care in a care home, this is where I would like to be.
Words can not say how impressed I was.

The manager is excellent and is friendly, thoughtful and happy. She listens and offers advice and I am very appreciative. My mother is suffering from old age (three weeks off 100 years old) and receives excellent care and monitoring. She is regularly checked on, spoken to and made comfortable. I am extremely pleased with my mother's care and I think highly of the home. I am also very grateful.

She is 99, very frail and in an extremely caring environment. There is a good relationship and understanding between residents, manager, staff and family, working out together, care plans and doing what's best for her. I'm really pleased with her care.

The carers and nurses were outstanding with the care they gave to my mum. They made it feel like home for us all as a family.

The care, love and support from all the staff given to my mother-in-law were outstanding. It felt like mothers home as it should. The staff went above and beyond in mother's final days which as a family made us feel so supported. Mother had complex care needs which were always met.

Frustration at clothes going missing; even when marked. Very little support from few staff as to finding them. Strongly feel when we complain, someone should go in the rooms and check what's not theirs.

The staff are so friendly and would do anything for anyone and they all work so hard. My mum left hospital in April 2018 and since being here she has come on so much with her movement, skin colour and they have also healed her bed sore that was really bad on her leg. I am so impressed with this home I would recommend it to anyone.
Thank you so much for your review, we are glad Mum is happy. We really appreciate your feedback, if you need anything further please do not hesitate to let us know.

I cannot recommend this nursing home enough the staff exceeded my very high expectations in every respect.

After a long period in hospital, our brother has been well looked after at Woodlands. Manager and staff have made him very welcome and are keen to meet his special needs. His particular feeding system is efficiently supplied. All staff try very hard to understand his wishes and needs, despite his marked communication difficulties and support him in his wishes to socialize or join group activities. Visitors are made very welcome. The friendly atmosphere of this home is evident throughout. Our brother is happy at Woodland and I would recommend the home to anyone as they meet so many needs.
